Mittagong's Under 18's player was released from Hospital last night. He has concussion but other than that is fine.

happy now footymum your boys are playing footy this year? Geez you did some whingeing last season
Eagles boys going good in 1sts undefeated comp win this year for sure for you boys from WAMINDA!!!!!
:correct: Very happy, they are loving it and I am even enjoying the drive out to oakdale each week for the games so far, they have a great field out there. And I wouldn't call it whingeing but more like proactive complaining and it was all for my boys. :)

Mt Annan president apologises

07 May, 2012 12:00 AM
http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/mt-annan-president-apologises/2547285.aspx

AFTER he was stood down from Group 6, Mt Annan president Mick Quinn had a few words to say against Group 6 and Moss Vale Dragons. The brawl at Community Oval a few weeks ago, resulting in four Mt Annan players and two Dragons players being sent from the field, ended up worse for Quinn than he could have imagined.

But Quinn said he spoke with Moss Vale Dragons senior and junior clubs and apologised for his comments against the club in a previous article.

"I sincerely apologise to Moss Vale Dragons for comments I made in the paper," he said.

"It was in the heat of the moment and I shouldn't have said it.

"We're all in it for the same reasons; for the kids."

Bundy beat Bowral

IT was a match that went right down to the wire when Bundanoon snatched victory from Bowral with a 10-6 win.
Bowral held the lead for most of the match after scoring in the first half but when Bundanoon hit back with about 10 minutes to go, coach Brett Breeze said he was "very nervous".
In a heated local derby with both teams determined to win, it was a physical match with players from both sides copping some heavy knocks. The worst was in the first half when two Bowral players suffered a head clash in goal which left Matt Hatton with a concussion and Todd Fairbairn a little dazed.

Bundanoon came off a 66-20 thrashing last weekend and Breeze said Saturday's performance was much better.

"I was a lot more pleased with the win but we certainly made it hard for ourselves," he said.

"I just think their defence was the biggest improvement from last week and the communication between players was a lot better."

But despite the win, Breeze said there was still a lot for the Bundy boys to work on.

"Our ball handling and some of our decision making still needs a bit of work but in the end the boys showed a lot of character and ground down a win so it's great for the club.

"Especially being at our home ground, it was nice to get a win. I think everybody just put their hand up and did their job and it was a real team effort."

Bundanoon will face Warragamba, away, this weekend and Breeze said it would be another tough match.

"That's going to be a tough ask so the boys are going to have to work really hard in defence again."

For Bowral captain Lee Hayes, it was a crushing loss after having been in the lead for most of the match.

"Stupid handling errors. Basically we lost it for ourselves. We had the lead and we threw it away," he said

"It was a pretty hard fought game but just too many mistakes, too many penalties and giving away easy ground. We lost it for ourselves."

Hayes said while they didn't come away with a win, he was pleased with the effort shown by the boys.

"All the boys dug deep today. Harto's (Josh Harton) been playing well the last few weeks so he's usually one of our strongest. Everyone gave a fair effort."

Facing Moss Vale this weekend in another local derby, Hayes said it would be the toughest match Bowral had faced so far this season.

"It's going to be a hard one. That's going to be our hardest game of the year so we've just got to show up and be switched on and complete our sets and we'll be right."
