Good to see people are still passionate about league. Let’s get a few facts right first, Jason’s 1st year at Camden he took them through to the semi final. He brought Neil Begovich, Sam Campbell, Alex Vincent etc. Through into first grade because he could see their talent (he was right). These guys were great players in U18’s but at the time Camden admin didn’t think they were ready (they certainly were). That year Brownie got player of the year and Jason got coach of the year. (is that coach of the year 2 or 3 times now).

He has also worked with the group 6 u18’s and actually getting them and the Southern Redbacks to win games and he is the assistant coach with the Group 6 1st grade side – so I thinks it is safe to say he can coach.

I know Jason and I also know Barnsy, both good coaches in their own right and I am not on here to have a go at anyone. My question’s are why did the Eagles get Jason to stay there this year, he was offered considerably more to go to another club. Surely that shows loyalty from his part in staying with the Eagles. Who was the instigator in asking him to leave? Why tell him one thing at the start of the year and then change your mind now. Obviously that’s the Eagles choice but I bet all the players are not happy about it that’s for sure.

No doubt the Eagles have some great players Sam Hoare, Dunners, Mick Bradstock, John De Silva, there new signings in Mason , Brett and Glen from Mountie’s. The star performer has been Ben Weir who Jason got to the club; he is an outstanding forward who has the skills and abilities to be starting in any NSW Cup side.

I know the Eagles made some promises so I hope they can honour them. Jason’s problem is, if you can call it a problem is that he calls a spade a spade. Those out there who coach would know if you listen to administration, players and whoever else wants to make comment all of the time you certainly would not have a successful rugby league team. It is certainly not ego in any way.

Good luck to Eagles, they great team in terms of players and I don’t mean just on the field.

CAMPBELLTOWN Eagles made their ``homecoming’’ a day to remember when they defeated Picton 62-4 in round 7 of the group six first-grade premiership at Waminda Oval on Sunday.

After being banished from their traditional East Campbelltown homeground when they opted to play outside the Western Suburbs district boundaries, Easts savoured their return after two seasons away from their heartland.

Picton posted first points through Garl Lauglin, but that was their highpoint of the game.

The Eagles led 12-4 at half-time then surged away in the second half.

Sean Connor and Will Dreves scored a hat-trick each, with Dreves also jlpotting nine goals for a personal tally of 30 points for the game.

Eagles coach Richard Barnes said he was pleased with the 2011 grand finalist’s performance.

``Our attack is fantastic and our guys are defending with a great attitude; they play for each other,’’ lhe said.

In other results: Oakdale defeated Campbelltown City Kangaroos 32-26, Camden downed The Oaks 22-10, and Mittagong brushed ahead of Thirlmere-Tahmoor 28-26.

Yeah your right but bundanoon would have done the same it was a pretty weak comp the uni reggies worst football I've seen remember watching a game up at the uni it was terrible standards look like a horrible school boy game
Im sure eagles had there reasons I'd say bit of the assistant trying to take over the head coach maybe and it back fired and club punted him maybe who knows I'm sure hazo be good at appin next year

THE local derby at Loseby Park on Sunday afternoon between Moss Vale and Bowral got heated as four players were sent from the field in the opening 10 minutes. A tackle which took Dragons player Matthew Conquest over the sideline resulted in a bit of push and shove before Meuleman brothers Brad and Steve ran in and began throwing punches. Both the brothers along with Bowral's Steve Wray and Robbie Purcell were sent off and will face striking charges this week. "Matt Conquest was pushed over the sideline in a good tackle. He got up and pushed one of our guys who pushed back," Bowral coach Randall Laughton said. "Then the Meuleman boys came running in and escalated the thing."

Group 6 chairman Grahame Andrews said those players who have not been in trouble before would most likely be facing a one week suspension in line with the Group's zero striking policy. The only concern will be for the Dragons' Brade Meuelman who was involved in a previous fight this year against Mt Annan. He may be looking at a few weeks on the sideline. The fight overshadowed a good performance by Moss Vale who beat Bowral 58-10. "It was a very good win. We played well yesterday," Moss Vale skipper Damien Barton said. "The forwards went forward and set up a good platform for the backs." Barton said Aaron Cummings, Jack Webb and Blair Palmer all put in good performances on Sunday, with the Dragons attack much better than previous weeks. "Our attack was 100 per cent better than any other week. Hopefully we keep moving forward," he said. They will face Warragamba at home this Sunday and Barton said it would be a much harder game. "They're an unknown to us but they're sitting on the same points as us so we'll have to concentrate on our attack," he said. For Bowral it was another disappointing match and for a club already struggling with numbers and injuries, the weekend's send offs will hurt them. "Things are going to be hard for us," Laughton said. "It was very disappointing but at the end of the day Moss Vale were just too classy for us." With only nine players on the field five minutes before kick off, Laughton said it was always going to be a tough match. 'We were always going to be under the pump. Realistically when we've got the numbers we go alright but we're not getting the numbers," he said. "We're struggling for numbers and basically pulling players off the streets." 'The positive is that although we were getting pretty well hammered we kept trying till the end of the game and they didn't give up." Laughton said their problem was player commitment and hoped they could start to post some wins in the second half of the season and turn things around.
Sounds like mossy got some discipline problems down there stu you blokes had a few sent every week now is it abit of the old reggies team dropping down trying to stand over third graders?? Or is it just one or 2 players the problem? Maybe mt Annan harshly dealt stood down for 2 weeks and mossy still getting in brawls and sends off??? Makes you wonder stu

Just 2 players dunley and hoare but we have played without sammy for the last two weeks and most of last weeks game without dunley were in a great position with heaps of depth in all positions atm and with all the recent singings over the last couple of years most of reserve grade is now filled with former 1st graders and condition for spots in the team every week keeping everyone on there toes has us in a great position for these kind of situations....

Bobby Booshay, you are a minority, at the end of the day a number of players and people had come not only to me but other members of the club, you have a short memory, our clubs name, reputation and our dedicated players will always come first. A decision had to be made and our club will continue to move forward. Again we havnt had a comlaint except you but your not even in the country, maybe if you talked to some of your old team mates you may have a different opinion.

We had a good night at training and everyone seems to be happy, sorry one guy wasn't and his reply was, it should of been done last year,

Sounds like you're upset your old coach got punted maybe ring some old team mates get the truth water boy sounds like your not getting the full story
Coaches don't just get punted mid year for the fun of it
From what I hear barnes is the head coach and never really needed an assistant and these days hazelton sees himself as a Wayne Bennett clone not a rick stone assistant

The boys loved playing at the stadium, it was great for them all to be back playing in Campbelltown  Thanks for the support on the day, we would of stuck around for the other games but with it being mothers day most of the boys had to leave. It was a good game although we dropped our game in the second half though and let them come back to take it out in the last few minutes. The boys are really enjoying playing the group 6 teams, they are all great kids out there, no egos just great footy each week. :)
