I've deleted a few posts so let's just leave the "tit for tat" nastiness to PM-ing and move on to the footy this coming weekend as TC has suggested.

Does anyone know if the games that were to be played at Onslow on Sunday (Roos v Magpies) have been changed to Victoria Park?

Yes B&W, home games have been transferred to Victoria Park, Picton.

Campbelltown City Kangaroos vs Picton Magpies (all 3 Grades)

1st Grade: 2.30pm kickoff
Reserve Grade: 1pm kickoff
U/18s: 11.30am kickoff

Stromeferry- totally unsuitable for senior Rugby League to be played on. No fencing, poor surface, list goes on. All very unjust considering what the Kangaroos sacrificed for the good of the game and town: Alf Duguid Oval where the DFO is now, Orana Park No.1, Orana Park No.2 for the construction of the Athletics Stadium 15 years ago. Some way to treat the town's oldest and most famous sporting club.

In good news, crack Roos junior Michael Papa has returned to the club and will play Reserves this weekend.

Group 6 hand down verdict

BY LAUREN WRIGHT

18 May, 2012 12:00 AM
http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/group-6-hand-down-verdict/2560893.aspx

THE verdict of the players involved in Sunday afternoon's fight at Loseby Park has been handed down.Bowral players Steve Wray and Robbie Purcell, who both have no history at the judiciary will be able to play in this weekend's clash with Robertson after they took the early guilty plea.Their clean records saved them from a one week suspension, and with a low grading they will take 53 carry over points with them.

The referees report also worked in their favour, with the ref noting that the two Bowral boys were defending themselves and did not start the fight.Steve Meuleman, who was labelled as one of the instigators of the fight will receive only a one week suspension. His charge was graded as high but with no previous record and the discounts which apply he will take 64 carry over points with him when he returns to the field.

But for Dragons player Brad Meuleman, he will be sitting on the sideline a little longer.Already involved in a fight this year for which he received a one week suspension which the judiciary took into account, he has been handed a five week ban and 50 carry over points.

Group 6 chairman Grahame Andrews said they had received concerns from a number of clubs that those who retaliated were being dealt with as harshly as the instigators.

"It's a good system," Andrews said.

He said they had looked at the system and corrected it so that instigators of any fight were dealt with more severely.

"With pretty substantial discounts you may only get one week but if you come back you're in trouble," he said.

"(Brad's) come back for the second time and he's in trouble."

Referees now indicate on their report sheet who the aggressor was who threw the first punch and who retaliated in order to separate the grading of charges.

uTHE local derby at Loseby Park on Sunday afternoon between Moss Vale and Bowral got heated as four players were sent from the field in the opening 10 minutes. A tackle which took Dragons player Matthew Conquest over the sideline resulted in a bit of push and shove before Meuleman brothers Brad and Steve ran in and began throwing punches. Both the brothers along with Bowral's Steve Wray and Robbie Purcell were sent off and will face striking charges this week. "Matt Conquest was pushed over the sideline in a good tackle. He got up and pushed one of our guys who pushed back," Bowral coach Randall Laughton said. "Then the Meuleman boys came running in and escalated the thing."

Group 6 chairman Grahame Andrews said those players who have not been in trouble before would most likely be facing a one week suspension in line with the Group's zero striking policy. The only concern will be for the Dragons' Brade Meuelman who was involved in a previous fight this year against Mt Annan. He may be looking at a few weeks on the sideline. The fight overshadowed a good performance by Moss Vale who beat Bowral 58-10. "It was a very good win. We played well yesterday," Moss Vale skipper Damien Barton said. "The forwards went forward and set up a good platform for the backs." Barton said Aaron Cummings, Jack Webb and Blair Palmer all put in good performances on Sunday, with the Dragons attack much better than previous weeks. "Our attack was 100 per cent better than any other week. Hopefully we keep moving forward," he said. They will face Warragamba at home this Sunday and Barton said it would be a much harder game. "They're an unknown to us but they're sitting on the same points as us so we'll have to concentrate on our attack," he said. For Bowral it was another disappointing match and for a club already struggling with numbers and injuries, the weekend's send offs will hurt them. "Things are going to be hard for us," Laughton said. "It was very disappointing but at the end of the day Moss Vale were just too classy for us." With only nine players on the field five minutes before kick off, Laughton said it was always going to be a tough match. 'We were always going to be under the pump. Realistically when we've got the numbers we go alright but we're not getting the numbers," he said. "We're struggling for numbers and basically pulling players off the streets." 'The positive is that although we were getting pretty well hammered we kept trying till the end of the game and they didn't give up." Laughton said their problem was player commitment and hoped they could start to post some wins in the second half of the season and turn things around.
Sounds like mossy got some discipline problems down there stu you blokes had a few sent every week now is it abit of the old reggies team dropping down trying to stand over third graders?? Or is it just one or 2 players the problem? Maybe mt Annan harshly dealt stood down for 2 weeks and mossy still getting in brawls and sends off??? Makes you wonder stu
Westie, word at the dragons den is committe is right onto players over recent ugly incidents but is only a few and all players on warning no more will be tolerated. I was at game when they played Mt Annan and dont think it was the problem with the fight on the field that cost Mt Annan but when people were running in from off the bench, from in their cars and water runners were throwing punches the group had no choice but to take action.
The local paper has a habit of sensationalizing an article, if their is a fight during a game its classed as a " brawl" and is usually in the heading. When mossy won the first grade title in 2010 the front page had in bold letters " brawl mars grand final win" or something similar with a smaller sub heading " mossy win first premiership in 20 years". As you recall a fight broke out in the crowd , totally isolated from the game, yet it dominated the headline & the opening paragraphs.
Send offs everyweek stu but so you have got discipline issues you can sugar coat it and blame papers but fact his you've had some ugly send offs and it's making Mossy look like a UFC club
Discipline yes to a degree, but it goes both ways. Unfortunately fights & niggle happen in a game but it doesn't have to overshadow the game itself by the way its reported or be the main headline, but hey that's how they sell newspapers I guess.
as a player of east campbelltown, i would like to say i am disgusted to find out at training that committee members and players of easts, devil blue and mossy and westie and doggiegirl are our own committee members. pretending to be several other people. it just goes to show to how immature and childish and dodgy you all are. it doesnt make me proud to be associated with you at all i wont be back next year.
Funny you say that, 3 out of the 4 arenot related to our club, and with Training we have had a really good weeks session and looking forward to playing Camden this week, you are a disgusting troll!

It is far too early to worry about who will be playing in Group 6 next year BUT I don't think we need any more clubs joining our comp.

What do others think?

it is the clubs that pay dollars whether its group 6 or wests ...if any one thinks west clubs dont pay players I would like to know where they are hideing...last time collies won a grandfinal and for 2 years after that players were paid very well to play.
