Great game today, thought we were gunna get flogged after the first 20 minutes but i think eagles thought they might of had it won and we started to show how good we could play. Dissapointed to loose but eagles do have a very well coached team. Can't wait until next round when we play them.
Was a good game but unfortunately for u guys u will play us with our full squad next time we did switch off cause we were going straight through u guys but the crowd was massive and it probably was a good game to watch my prodiction you guys picton and roo's won't make the finals sorry make just the way it felt we were always in controll of the game
That's probably a fair prediction. I can understand us being written off based on what we've achieved so far. But, we haven't had even close to a full strength squad yet this year.
In yesterday's game we had two under 18's in our starting line up for first grade. They both performed well considering, but obviously wouldn't be there if we were full strength.
Thankfully we have 3 weeks off now. Hopefully the half dozen or so blokes that are on the mend now will be fighting fit against Thirlmere when we resume.
IF we can manage to get something close to our best line up together for a few consecutive matches there may just be a few people from other clubs that get a surprise.
Maybe thats why the 18's are struggling with players
Injuries in the higher grades! first grades not going to go anywhere so why not try and achieve something with the 18s
Yeah good point. I'll go to training on Tuesday night and tell the first grade coach to write this season off because a guy on an internet message board said we should. I'm sure he'll see it your way.
No one from the 18s would ever be asked to back up if they weren't up to it. And out of all the injuries our 18s have suffered this year (and there are many) only one has happened while playing a higher grade.
I think it's great u guys are giving young guys a go at the end of the day it's only gonna better there confidence and one or two players might change things that have to come back but seriously when u played us u guys had no depth probably from the injuries but a loss to the roo's it's pretty funny if ya think u will make it this year sorry mate....
It's pretty clear from your assessment of us that you actually believe that was something close to our strongest team you played against. The reason we had no depth is because of our injuries. It's also to do with a lack of interest from our reserve grade squad in backing up for first grade (that is our biggest problem) so our 1st grade coach has no option but to ask for 18s.
Its no surprise you guys flogged us, you're the strongest outfit in the comp, and we had Kiel Shephard play 80 minutes in the front row, he's as strong as an ox, but he weighs about 90kgs and is a genuine back rower. The other front rower, Steve Crouch also played 80 minutes, he's big enough but he's 35. Unfortunately when there's no one on the bench to replace them, you get a bit stuck.
The only 2 guys from Reggie's that did back up are yet to turn 19, are small back rowers (with giant tickers mind you) and had to play on each wing due to injuries.
There's a reason you put 12 on us in the first half and 50 in the 2nd, we ran out of troops!
With one front rower coming back and another who just played his first game against the Roos we'll have the depth there, plus Youngy will be back next round, so we will have him and Sheppo forming an awesome back row. Good luck to the opposition left side defense that has to handle Youngy and Nick Taylor! Plus Poisel is yet to play a game, he's still one of the best playmakers in the comp.
In the end you may be right, but I doubt it. Having seen every team now, I'm pretty optimistic.
I'm not one for bold predictions, but I will say that (barring more injuries) you guys and every other team will face a much tougher Magpies outfit 2nd time around.

Why won't the reggies back up first grade? Isn't that what reserve grade is for?

How come no footy this week? Only the rep game on I reckon it should be as normal and teams should still play even without thier rep stars similar to nrl and origin
Whats the thoughts on it?

Shows an awful lot of cockiness there.
Just wondering if the rest of the Eagles players would want Leigh Middlemiss in there.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but i heard more than 1 player demand that Barnsy hook him yesterday, and they didn't mean he needed a rest?????

Must have been a shock to the idiot supporter who jumped the fence at Thirlmere yesterday to get involved in a stoush after full time in the 18's. Turned out the ref was a copper and and he arrested the bloke!

Maybe they need to get more police into the ranks of the referees.

Best refs have always come from coppers or chalkies, no highway patrol cops but :cstars:

Please give me anymore names??? And also yes true lee did get taken off but it was because he made a silly mistake in the opposition 20 then he gave a way a penalty then he was getting heated so instead of keeping him on and him doing something stupid common sense was to take him off mate please reply???

Wayde dunley tore his hamstring and isnt expexted back until another 3 weex i hear. Nathan thorson is a great reserve grade player and i say that again its reserve grade and a man of his size should be. And i hear he has been asked to play 1st grade numerous times but he didnt want to.

Dissapointed our reggies arent keen enough to step up to first grade when needed but the couple of 18's that did were outstanding. Also Ive been told on good advice that red eagle isnt a player of East Campbelltown only a supporter. Also like to add that Borgy should 100% be in that Rep team, fantastic with the ball great attacking player. Its never too late to change the Rep team, but do agree its a very strong team.

I was more surprised at the canbolising that was going on out there. I know the old excuse of "competitiveness" will be trotted out, but you don't react that way when a team mate makes a mistake. I didn't hear anyone complain about the guy that let Joel Wisbey through 2 out of his 3 tries, and he was the one screaming for Leigh's head.
The length of the field effort was a good try, but 1 run hardly makes him the best forward in the group. Great run for any footballer none the less.
Will is in form, but Ben is in form too. Toss a coin.
I think the wingers are fantastic, perfect as is. McCauley is easily the best winger i have seen in the group for the last 10 years.
Maybe he opted to leave Borg out because that would mean you would have 2 really dominant halves. They play a very similar game. I'm surprised it's young Braso, but i'll trust Reeves' judgement over everyone elses.

He should be there cause Dunley out brasington not a 5/8 the only down side on Scott is he goes missing in defense but is great with the ball in hand should of been selected after Dunley
Borg cracked the illawarra team when playing for thirroul and they play in the CRL top tier championship, if he's not making the group side says a lot about selection.

Haha yea i just got ahead of myself there, the team that has been chosen is great but i think that not having picked will dreaves at number 1 is a joke he is by far the in form fullback at the moment and also graig moustakas was a must have on the wing, and also no offence to brazzo but scotty borg should be there. Please give me anymore names??? And also yes true lee did get taken off but it was because he made a silly mistake in the opposition 20 then he gave a way a penalty then he was getting heated so instead of keeping him on and him doing something stupid common sense was to take him off mate please reply???
Yeah he got the hook than went back on and scored a hundred meter try ... so a good decision in to bring him of at the right time I guess ... lol ...
Yeah Leigh is still learning only played first grade last year does get a little lost but still works hard and is always improving moot(aka)craig should be playing in the rep side easily the fastest in the comp. borgy should be there but there sticking with the cor group of boys from the first match grant is defernantly the best back rower centre in the comp, will drevies is a gun and should play over baker any day and to comment on Benny all I have to say is best prop player aggressor runner everything love player with the bloke,
Does anyone know where there playing this game
