I'm pretty sure Ben came to us cause narrellen weren't looking good then we released him Ben is a good player but hasn't played full back for long and when his been selected in the country side it's been on the wing not saying he is not good but probably better winger then full back And if u look at wills stats this year u will know what I'm talking about |

PS. Dreves played a year Narellan before growing dreadlocks, having a year off and retuning to footy at Picton. Matt McCauley had a year or two in 18s and reggies at jets too before finding his spot at Oakdale. Stuart Flanagan started his Gr 6 career at Narellan as well in U18s.....the list goes on!! Baker gets my tick as fullback Edited by Jetter, May 22 2012, 12:47 PM.

By the sounds of things he can't even do that right, and the coach has no control of his players now that he doesn't have an assistant there with him. |

MOSS VALE Dragons are leading the way BY LAUREN WRIGHT Southern Highland News 23 May, 2012 12:00 AM ![]() Good Sports program Jenny Pinczi presents Moss Vale Dragons president Greg Maloney with a certificate as winners of the 2011 South East region sports club of the year. Photo by Roy Truscott MOSS VALE Dragons are leading the way for responsible service of alcohol in the Highlands. One of the first clubs in the area to become involved in the Good Sports program, the Dragons will now be the first to reach a Level 3 accreditation and won the 2011 South East region sports club of the year. Good Sports spokeswoman Jenny Pinczi said the Dragons were a good example for other clubs in the area. "Each year the Australian Drug Foundation nominates clubs for sports club of the year and so we nominated Moss Vale Dragons and they won the South East region," she said. "They're making sure that their a family friendly, community orientated, responsible with their alcohol club." "Very good example of a very responsible club." The Dragons received a $250 cheque as part of the prize for winning the South East region's club of the year and president Greg Maloney said Moss Vale were proud to be a part of the program. "We're very proud to be associated with it because we feel it's a great honour and we do place a huge amount of emphasis on responsible service of alcohol, drug free and everything else like that," he said. "We're trying to build a community relationship here with the juniors and the seniors . I know our sponsors are very proud to be associated with us because of that as well and we strain to maintain a high level all the time right across the board and we're going to keep doing it in the future." The Good Sports program was designed to assist clubs with the responsible management of alcohol through an accreditation process which requires clubs to implement a variety of practices and policies at each level. It was developed following research conducted by the Australian Drug Foundation which showed high risk consumption of alcohol in community sports clubs. Through the introduction of responsible alcohol management practices, clubs have been able to improve their image, increase their revenue and decrease their risk of liability. |

Lions finally win two in a row BY LAUREN WRIGHT Southern Highland News 23 May, 2012 12:00 AM ![]() Braiden Groth crosses the line for a try. Photo by Lauren Wright MITTAGONG Lions first grade finally cracked two wins in a row with a solid 64-20 victory over The Oaks on Sunday. After an up and down season, coach Scott Borg said it was good to string a couple of wins together. "The boys are finally starting to click. It was a really good win and a massive relief finally getting a few wins in a row," he said. "Hopefully we can make it three in a row." While the Lions still have a number of injury concerns, Borg said Ricky Garard and Saxon Sell both stepped up and played well. Borg and Garard both cross the line four times while Warwick Carter, Ryan Borg, Braiden Groth (pictured) and Sell also scored a try each. While Borg said he was happy with the attack, only failing to complete four sets, there was still work to do in defence. The Lions dominated for most of the match and at one stage scored five times in a row from the kick off. Borg said Justin Madden had his best game of the season, while Erin Blackshaw and Sell also played well. Mittagong will face Campbelltown Kangaroos in two weeks time, who won their first match for 2012 on the weekend. "It's one of those games we can't drop off," Borg said. |

Bundanoon find form BY LAUREN WRIGHT Southern Highland News 23 May, 2012 12:00 AM BUNDANOON had one of its best wins of the season on Saturday, claiming a 30-4 victory over Jamberoo. Coach Brett Breeze said their defence was excellent, and their attack was finally starting to take shape. "The boys were wrapped with the result.. Their intensity in defence was good," he said. "It was pleasing that they used the ball out wide. Our attack is starting to take shape. It was a good all round game and we only let them score one try." "It's the first game we've played where the backs have got involved." In a positional change, Kyal Martin found himself at fullback and Breeze said he along with Ben Palk and Ben Gilroy in the backs played well. Leading 14-4 at the break, Bundanoon continued to dominate in the second half and didn't allow Jamberoo to cross the line again. "The forwards worked as a team, everybody just played really well. It was a real team effort," Breeze said. Since the match against Bowral where Bundanoon ground out a 10-6 win, Breeze said it had been a turning point for the club. "I think we'll really surprise a few of the top sides in the second round," he said. Bundanoon's next challenge will be Moss Vale at home and Breeze said it would be a tough match. "They've been racking up some pretty big scores, we know it's going to be difficult. They boys are keen to play and I'm confident we can really make a game of it." Breeze also thanked the supporters who travelled to their matches and said they hoped for another good crowd in two weeks time against Moss Vale. "The crowd we had at Bundanoon (last time) was really encouraging. I think they'll lift the guys definitely." |

Rams' run proves too little, too late 23 May, 2012 12:00 AM http://www.camdenadvertiser.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/rams-run-proves-too-little-too-late/2565891.aspx ![]() Outnumbered: Camden's Neil Begovich comes in for some close attention from his Campbelltown Eagles opponents. Picture: Sean Cunningham NOT many people expected Camden to win their Group 6 first grade rugby league clash on Sunday against Campbelltown Eagles but they had their chances to win until the Eagles put the game beyond doubt late in the second half. The Eagles remain undefeated after their hard-fought 30-22 win at Kirkham Park. The Rams trailed 20-0 after only 20 minutes but bounced back to reduce the deficit to 20-10 going into the break. Camden coach Mark De Ubago agreed his team were always under pressure after conceding 20 points without reply. "We knew they would come out fast and 20 points was hard to get back," he said. "We didn't touch the ball for the first 10 minutes, which cost us. "Once we got some ball and got in the grind we became competitive. "Our last 15 minutes of the first half was great. We took control and played like we know we can play." De Ubago singled out Joel Wisbey, who scored three tries, and Matthew Applebee as his best players on the day. Former Camden player Ben Weir, who certainly knew what the Camden fans on the sidelines thought about him facing his old club, returned to his old stamping ground at Kirkham Park. He played a key role for both teams, said Eagles coach Richard Barnes. "I don't know if Benny Weir helped us more or helped Camden more," Barnes said. "He stirred them up and they were on their toes. "He certainly fired the Camden fans up." Camden's tries went to Joel Wisbey (three), Glyn Bester, and Aaron De Silva. In other first grade games, Campbelltown City Kangaroos beat Picton 30-22, Mittagong beat The Oaks 64-20 and Thirlmere/Tahmoor beat Narellan 34-20. - There are no first grade games this weekend. |

I was just reading the Wollondilly Advertiser in the Police Watch section. The clown that ran onto the field at Thirlmere at the end of the U/18's on Saturday was from Tahmoor. He was charged with Common Assault and will appear in Picton Court on the 26th June. What an idiot! |
