'Great scoop MacBull- yes confirmation that the City club has taken up the lease for Fullwood Reserve and intends turning the No.1 field into an international, seniors standard ground that Campbelltown's oldest and most famous club can be proud of, especially considering what we surrendered at Orana in 1986 and then at Orana No.2 in 1996' Does that mean Campbelltown will have 2 international stadiums??? lmao |

Jetter, you're forgetting James Meehan International as well 100% B&W, I think that field name change will pass Council quite easily. Tony is a Life Member of the Kangaroo footy club, cricket club, golf club and the Leagues Club! Has made a wonderful contribution to the Macarthur community over a long long period of time. |

You 2 guys have damaged the integrity (If it had much to start with) of the forum. It's really poor form, and posing as someone from another club shows that you guys may actually fear Thirlmere. |

True TC they were doing it to stir trouble with Thirlmere ...trying to discredit another club is not good ...sledge them on the field ...I believed it was 2player from 2 clubs haveing ago at each other... now I know what lengths players will go to before they play a team that threatens them...I agree = FEAR |

Geez, I've stayed away from here for a few weeks because I thought this forum had really deteriorated. A quick glance has certainly confirmed that for me. I may head over to ratemypoo.com for some more meaningful discussion. |

Glad I decided to check in one last time. Someone's actually talking footy!!! I won't make a big prediction for our game against the roosters, but I will say, win or lose we'll get a hell of a lot closer than 28 points! They only did us by 8 or so in round 1 and we'll be fielding a stronger team this time around. Poisel, Youngy, Taylor, Shephard, Eckler all fit and playing together for the first time. Plus watch our big new front rower James Davies go. He's a big angry pommy. He's only got one game under his belt against the kangaroos and he was one of our best then. I'm excited! In other games I'll say Narellan by not much, Oakdale by a bit, and Eagles by plenty. |

Shield match honours B.J. BY SEAN CUNNINGHAM http://www.wollondillyadvertiser.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/shield-match-honours-bj/2589077.aspx ![]() Memorial clash: Geoff Pendergast urged footy fans to flock to Victoria Park on Sunday. Picture: Jeff De Pasquale It's that time of the season when rival league clubs Picton and Thirlmere/Tahmoor prepare to do derby battle. The reserves game has extra significance. The game on Sunday at Victoria Park, Picton, is an important date on the Pendergast family's calendar. Geoff and Sherry Pendergast's son Ben played for Picton from the under-10s. He died in 2007. The memory of B.J., as he was known to friends, is kept alive through this B.J. Pendergast Memorial Shield game, which starts at 1pm. This will be the sixth time the shield has been up for grabs. The two teams drew 10-all in the inaugural 2007 clash. Picton won 28-16 in 2008 and beat the Roosters 46-4 in 2009. In 2010 Thirlmere/Tahmoor won the shield for the first time with a 24-4 victory over the Magpies, but Picton won back the shield last year with a 24-10 victory. B.J. played four seasons for the Roosters and nine with the Magpies. |

Grand finals are not won midseason BY SEAN CUNNINGHAM http://www.wollondillyadvertiser.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/grand-finals-are-not-won-midseason/2589098.aspx ![]() Poised for finals: Thirlmere/Tahmoor (in yellow) are leading the way for Wollondilly clubs on the Group 6 first grade rugby league competition at its halfway stage. Picture: Sean Cunningham IT IS the halfway mark of the Group 6 rugby league first grade competition. With no games being played last weekend, it's a good time to reflect on performances midway through the season. Two of Wollondilly's teams, Thirlmere/Tahmoor and Oakdale, are in prime position to reach the finals. Picton and The Oaks are only a couple of wins adrift of a play-off berth. The Oaks coach Mark Lowe attributes a poor defensive display to his injury-ravaged team's lowly position on the ladder. "Obviously, with only two wins from round one we have been very disappointing," Lowe said. "Our defence has been terrible. This is due to high error counts we produce week after week. "Our injury toll has not helped either with 33 players being used so far in first grade. "Entering round two we have most players back from injury and are looking forward to grabbing an early win and hopefully some much-needed confidence. "Hopefully, with our injuries behind us we can produce some consistent footy and get ourselves on a roll." Last year's premiers Oakdale, the last team to beat the Eagles, have lost three games in the first half of the competition. Oakdale coach John Stanley believes the best is yet to come from his team. "After a slow start we are now picking up some momentum," Stanley said. "I am confident that if we continue to improve our weaknesses and build on our strengths that we will be heavily in the mix come the business end of the season. "We have got ourselves in a good position and our best footy is still ahead of us. "We are winning games despite not playing our best footy and not having our top team on the paddock. This shows the depth we have at the club. "We need to continue to build our season so that we are peaking when it counts the most. Grand finals are not won midseason." Picton and The Oaks have won two games each, but with a change of fortune and a run of wins, could be in finals contention. |
