Jets need to fire up from here BY SEAN CUNNINGHAM http://www.camdenadvertiser.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/jets-need-to-fire-up-from-here/2589012.aspx ![]() Finals beckon: Narellan will be relying on players such as Ben Baker (in blue) to lead them to a play-off berth. Picture: Sean Cunningham IT'S the halfway mark of the Group 6 rugby league first grade competition and with no games being played on the long weekend, coaches shared their thoughts on their teams' performances midway through the season. Narellan lie in the fifth place on the ladder while Camden are three points adrift of the Jets in sixth position. Narellan coach Daryn Fallshaw believes his team can secure a play-off berth if they can be more consistent and improve their discipline. "We started out well but have struggled to keep consistency, particularly when playing away from home," Fallshaw said. "Our strengths in the early stages of the season were enthusiasm and completing our sets. "Our weakness has definitely been our discipline which has cost us at least three games in the first round of the season. "The disappointing thing about our first round has been inconsistency and poor discipline for which we only have ourselves to blame." Fallshaw believes he has the firepower to beat any team in the competition when the Jets play to their potential. "If we can do that on a consistent basis we will definitely be a chance of making the play-offs," he said. "The first grade team have been great on occasions and on other occasions terrible." Despite this season being a "rebuilding phase" for the Jets, many would agree they have exceeded expectations. Camden coach Mark De Ubago believes his young side would be in a much better position if decisions had gone their way in the first nine games of the season. "We have crossed the line 19 times when it has either been called held up, lost over the line, or called back for being forward or double movements," De Ubago said. "With decisions going our way, we win two or three more games and confidence is up. "We are strong all over the park, but we have a young side and the weakness with that is our ability to play smart for 80 minutes. "We lack experience; you can't teach that, it comes with time." De Ubago is hoping a positive attitude from his players and an injury-free run will take them into the finals. |

Sean is bringing the game back to it's former glory, his fantastic coverage is going back to the coverage that Group 6 had back in the 70's and 80's, as a Rugby League lover, Sean's work is giving the competition the recognition it deserves, Well Done Sean and MacArthur Advertiser!!! |

Who are you? You look like a massive whinger that cannot get over yourself. Have you nothing better to do than stir the pot. All is settled, footy is getting played in whatever competition suits each team and here you are having a dig directly at one person. Just disappear, then again you will come back with another guise and keep putting this do-do on here, personal attacks are not needed, this forum is to talk local footy whether Group 6 or the ICCC, lets keep it to positive stuff and cut the do-do! |

Wollondilly Shire Council will reassess their grounds tomorrow afternoon and make a decision about the weekend. If they reopen the grounds then - they will be ok for the weekend. Not sure what the other councils will do. |

It was actually our and the Group's call doggiesgirl. There were patches where you'd sink half a foot into the mud, outright dangerous to the players and we'd rather not rip the joint up, having just got on there. |

Waiting to hear what other games have been cancelled. They should call off the Picton V Thirlmere games at Victoria Park because it has rained non-stop at Picton today and the ground was very wet before this. The ground will be chopped to pieces. It will be up to clubs and individual grounds committees to make those decisions. |

All games at Jack Nash, Currans Hill & Dudley Cheesham, The Oaks have been cancelled due to the condition of the grounds. They will be played on Sunday, 29th July. It looks as though the games at Kirkham Park, Camden & Victoria Park, Picton are still going ahead. |

No juniors at Victoria Park yesterday so the ground would have had a couple of weeks to cope with the wet. But with three senior games today it will chop it to pieces. |
