What is doing with Narellan's reserve grade??!! Without being disrespectful, when we played them in the first round they were ordinary, but in the last few games they have handed every other teams arses to them. Today they've comfortably beaten Camden who were pretty much the team to beat in reggies. Has there been a massive influx of quality players lately? |

Camden was a bog in the middle - 10cm of sticky mud that didn't help with getting a footing. Obviously Jets handled it better haha |

No more excuses BY LAUREN WRIGHT 18 Jun, 2012 12:00 AM http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/no-more-excuses/2593809.aspx ![]() Tensions boil over as Bowral skipper Lee Hayes shows his frustration. Photo by Roy Truscott BOWRAL have run out of excuses after a "lack lustre" 30-14 loss against Bargo Bunnies on Saturday afternoon. Already struggling for numbers, Bowral were down to 12 men after five minutes when Brad Neich was sent off after he reacted to an incident in a tackle. "Whether he got a high shot or not or an elbow when they were packing the scrum it's irrelevant. At the end of the day we're a man down because he lost his temper," Bowral coach Randall Laughton said. "What he should have done is waited for him and made a solid tackle out of it rather than having two air swings for nothing. So at the end of the day it cost us a man down five minutes into the game and he's probably one of our best players. Last (game) he scored two tries and he gives us all a go forward so without him we were always going to struggle." Down at the halftime break, Bowral came back out firing and got themselves in the game with an early try. They spent most of the second half camped in Bargo's 20 but with poor discipline and predictable plays, they failed to break the Bunnies defence. After tensions boiled over and a scuffle broke out in the second half, Bargo were also down to 12 men before another Bunnies player was sent to the bin, giving Bowral the advantage. But still they were unable to convert their advantage into points. "Poor discipline at the end, we tried to score too many times from dummy half rather than use the ball and play smart. No more excuses, I'm sick of making them," Laughton said. "The boys have got to start to do the job they're asked to do and they're just not doing it. If they want to put their hand up and play football they need to dig in, pretty much that's all there is to it." "We were short of players. We had five at training on Thursday night so that doesn't make anyone full of confidence so I don't know what the answer's going to be." While both teams faced the miserable conditions out at Robertson, Laughton said Bargo adapted better. Despite the struggles Bowral have faced this year, Laughton said there were still a few players who stood up week in, week out. "Steve Galvin, Keiran Sandor, Todd Fairbairn and Josh Hart. They're the ones that are always there at training and always putting their hand up. Four doesn't make 13 though and that's the trouble and we're just not all putting our hands up which is pretty disappointing." |

Spuds beat Bundy in local derby BY LAUREN WRIGHT 18 Jun, 2012 12:00 AM http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-league/spuds-beat-bundy-in-local-derby/2593807.aspx?storypage=0 ![]() THEY came off covered in mud, but Robertson once again claimed bragging rights over local opponents Bundanoon on Saturday afternoon with a 34-10 victory. In miserable conditions, with the fog rolling in at Robertson, it was a tight first half and the Spuds went to the break ahead 12-6.But as the showers turned into a more steady drizzle, Robertson stepped up their game and dominated the second half.Spuds coach Ben Hansen said it was not their best performance but was pleased with this team's effort given the conditions. "Bit sloppy but you can't expect much with this sort of weather," he said. "We dropped the ball a bit in the first 10 minutes which didn't help our cause, but once the boys got their rhythm, the forwards started going forward." "We've got a good back line this year and they really worked today. Matt Mauger went over for two tries so he was one of our standouts in the back and Mitch Wright, he was great at fullback." Hansen said the players who came off the bench did their job well in what was a good team performance. "I think we can take a lot out of this game today. Our back line was was really good and they stuck to their structure. Our forwards did a great job, everything was good," he said. Bundanoon coach Brett Breeze was not as pleased with the result. "Just disappointing that the score blew out to 34. We were right in the game till halftime," he said. "We need to learn to compete for the full 70 minutes. A few defensive lapses in the second half let them score easy points." "The effort was there. In the first half commitment in defence was good but a few times in the second half the defence lapsed. They (Robertson) just adapted to the conditions better. They played well." Despite the loss, Breeze said there were some good individual performances. "Paul Quigg in the front row never stopped trying and Michael Hewson, his tackle count was well up in the 30s." "Considering the conditions it was tough to hang onto the ball." Bundanoon will face Mt Annan this weekend at home and Breeze said they needed to step up their game. "We just need to lift our game a little bit and stay focused. At the moment we just fade in and out of games, it's happened in a couple of games now," he said. "Our focus is on competing for the full 70 minutes now." Now into the second round, Hansen said the Spuds had started to think about finals. "I think with the draw at the moment we'll make it depending on what position we're in. But we've got the biggest test next week which is Moss Vale so we'll see how we go against them," he said. "If we play like this and get some good conditions we should go alright. Our forwards are going to have to aim up big time. They've got a good forward pack, they always have and it's probably containing a few of their back line players like Josh Champion." "If we defend like we did today we should be alright." |

Yeah, just got informed from the same person as you. If this is true, look out. I couldn't care if we finished 8th, no side that finishes that low deserves to play semis. |
