Liverpool Titans pipped at the post

Allam El Masi scored two tries in the Titans 16-14 loss to St George.

THE Liverpool Titans went down in another heartbreaking game by just two points against St George at Jardine Park on Sunday.

Despite the closeness of the scoreline, Titans coach Scott Baverstock could not hide his disappointment at his side’s performance.

“We’re just not going well enough at the moment, they weren’t a great side but we couldn’t get the job done,” Baverstock said.

After trailing 10-4 at half-time the Titans rallied to lead 14-10 with four minutes to play.

But the Titans let the Dragons off the hook and conceded a late try giving St George a 16-14 win.

“That’s three games on the trot we’ve lost and we could’ve won all three,” Baverstock said.

He said some of the players filling in for injuries were still getting used to the style of play required.

“We’ve got some improving to do, we just need to cut our errors down and have better ball control,” he said.

The Titans have the local derby on Sunday against Moorebank at Hammondville Oval and they will be desperate to atone for their recent displays.

“We’ll definitely be up for that one, they’ve been a bit unlucky like us, but we need to win,” Baverstock said.

He is tipping NSW to win game one of State of Origin, with Robbie Farah to be man of the match.

Come on Westie, 2 games we won by 2 points only and ESA put the cleaners through us in the pre season. I think a fairly evenly balanced comp left. :correct: ESA would have be favourites if you go by the scores so far , St Christophers got 3 more good players. I think we were due to play ESA next week but with redraw its now 3 weeks from now. :D

I have to agree with maverick here Westie, everyone know has a good balanced mix, that has there club/team in the division that suits them best, players now have a choice, they dont have to get stuck with buying a VW Beetle, you can now buy a XR6 Flacon or a Club Sport or if a Hyundai Getz is your go, it's all there! Players are the winner and let's all get on and play Footy! Regradings are done so the comps look very even, good luck to all clubs!

Your being abit modest Mav I'd be confident let's face it ESA don't have the coach a caliber of Allan frys pedigree they struggle in that department and have for the last few years trying the captain coach thing which hadn't worked or just the wrong person in the role
Either way I think that's were all saints will pip them

Valley a big chance of taking A grade and rsl could even take res 2 and collies 19 2s I'd say all in all iccc has been a success and the best thing to happen for wests clubs you notice on here all the waring re wests/g6 has ceased shows both parties are happy with the footy which is what it's all about

Not saying I'm not "quietly" confident, but anything can happen in this great game. Look what happened to Eagle's last year in G6 and they were raging favourites and ESA have done well so far. Losing Sevau has been a blow to our season. He is an awesome player and any side would miss him from thier ranks. But we will move on.

Don't know how collies 19's will go but have been hammered in 1st div, that's why dropped to 2nd div.
As for the others, 1st and reserves, wouldn't write any team off. Same has been said that eagles are a run away for the comp g6, but they were last year and are not on that trophy. So let's hope we see some good, hard entertaining footy and let the best team win.
Another thing I heard about collies 19's was that they are struggling for numbers each week, as they haven't been able to dominate the iccc like them and ESA have done over the years, so players choosing not to show.

Appin will again be pushing to get back in the senior comp 2013.
We will again be starting at the bottom and trying to build the club up.
Just thought I would put it out there, so people know that we will be trying to again
be included in the g6 senior comp.
I am sure doggie girl will be talking about this soon.

All Saints went down to Berala Bears 42-20 A bit depleted with injuries from last week but no excuses, If you cant hold the ball you cant win games.
Hurstville also beat Titans in an injury shortened match 20-12
Unsure of full time score but Valley were well in front of Kingsgrove nearing the end.

Cannot comment on the roo's, but they are only temporary .
We have not given up the field, roo's are a bit like the bulls , gypsy's to they are allowed back.
I did hear that the junior club at the roo's don't want the senior s there!, but only what someone else has said, no one related the to the club. When appin seniors are back, roo' s will have to find elsewhere , simple.

It is not Roos home ground it belongs to Appin.. Group 6 hired the park for tues and thurs nights only between 7 and 8 for them to train only they do not have access to clubhouse only the ground and lights twice a week which the group pay for to council....there is no merger ....Appin have a junior club of their own and Appin 16s step up to be our under 18s next year ...Appin will be there next year and if anyone is interested in coaching playing or just helping please contact Vicki on 0423 973 946...

The ICCC is becoming a tuff task for our boys we have really been hit by injuries and copped a few more from the weekend, we have all faith in Matt in getting our boys to the semis, we are getting some great games together just need to put a win or two together and the guys will believe they can do it.
and what about those Titanics, sinking after its maiden season, sounds famililar, last in A Grade Div 2 and second last in A grade, usual fashion getting sunk to the lowest Div to try and claim the bottom of the ocean prize. His time at our club and he won our club the wooden spoon, I should send him another one for this season, hahahaha

They lost AGAIN, who cares.

What about his tipping NSW to win and Robbie Farah man of the match,

These guys know there Football.

Hypothetically speaking "If" NSW had won, and it "could" have gone that way with only two different refereeing decisions, Who would your man of the match have been???

I think Robbie would have been right up there :correct:
