How could NSWRL let this happen? Do they care about Junior League or are they just to busy and can't be bothered. |

Any developments regarding Wests Football District Football club controlling football within its district? I am at a loss how this has happened? If the football club doesnt have to get involved with the local district football, and that the Wests Tigers are now running our Harold Matthews and SG Ball Sides, shouldnt our elected board have loads of free time to devote its energies towards the NSW Cup flight? |

The breakdown is Wests magpies still run the operations of the football club, wests tigers control the allocation of funds for magpie jnr reps, wests ashfield fund the nsw cup side. |

I hear wests juniors could possibly not be affiliated to the tigers as stated And it's not in writing anywhere apparently? |

This was always the suspicion especially when Geoff Carr was put to task about who wests jrl was affiliated to . Having documented proof would certainly answer those questions , I just don't understandor believe how a jnr league organisation is linked to an nrl franchise bypassing its district football club , show me proof please. |

Why would anyone be surprised? It's the same dodgey stuff that has been going on for years. As Stu says - produce the paperwork and it will end all the questions & rumours. |

Surely the new comisssion has to act. Western Suburbs District Football Club should be in control of its district! What stops any other juniour league in Sydney going seperate ways with their district club? Its just wrong. |

Is there any more, new information in relation to this? I did ask this question yesterday but it was deleted but will see if this one remains. With the Junior Rugby League breaking away does it then open the door for a "consortium" with time and money to lobby the WSDFC to launch a new Junior comp within the region, being affiliated/amalgamated with the WSDFC? |

What has the junior league done to help senior clubs? Next to nothing, like sending a bill for code of conduct fees to be paid at 12pm on the day of the deadline is a big help. Do we have $3000 lying around? Thankfully the junior committee helped. |

This is getting rediculous - no wonder slowly and slowly the A-League is taking over the region. The JL has to do something to save face, but if its true that they are a separate entity now and are just responsible for themselves it doesn't leave much hope. No matter what, no matter who you are it should be about getting juniors playing football in the region - promoting the game of rugby league, providing an exciting competition to us the fans, maybe even if possible reduce registration costs to help parents out - rather than trying to have the biggest bank balance possible just to have it as something to boast about - "being one of the richest rugby league associations". |

There's a lot more than just having break away clubs, unless you can get a Murdoch or Packer backing you, you can't offer these deals, and yes there's many clubs that don't like the way things are run, but how many clubs would stick there necks out? What club are you from RS? And Moody who are you playing for? Lucky the Juniors helped your team, not many junior clubs would do that. |

Blue Devil, I am not associated with a club. To be honest for a very long time I followed the NRL and that was it - however just recently (last 18 months or so) have started to look at the junior areas etc which is why I sound stupid when it comes to things like this as I don't know what is happening and am learning about the separation etc which is why all of the dumb questions are being asked. |

The M league soccer are an example of a well run revamped competition in the area, they've expanded teams once again and are looking at running more tiers to provide opportunities. |

Too right but as was said earlier even if the WSDRL and NSWRL backed a new consortium to run junior rugby league in the area, in a re-vamped competition that is there for all and actually for the junior game and not ego stroking - no clubs are willing to stick their necks out. The M League is a fantastic example of a revamped competition but as I said elsewhere people get stuck in the rut where the response is always "It's been working this way for 10 years so why change it" and are oblivious to the damage they are doing to Junior Rugby League in the area. As a new follower of junior rugby league, and looking at how everything is run and has been running I am all for the WSDRL and NSWRL to stand up and say you know what you guys can play how your have been or... we have this other competition starting up which offers this.... Junior Rugby League should always come first, no junior league = no senior league when the older players retire. No thoughtful junior league means players and parents become disillusioned and go elsewhere. |
