The season is over for Group 6 JRL, finishing on a high note with our Grand Finals hosted by Mt Annan-Currans Hill JRLFC at Kirkham Park over the weekend.![]() Results U/10B's Warragamba 18 def Narellan 12 U/10A's Thirlmere-Tahmoor 10 def Camden 6 U/11C's The Oaks 24 def Narellan 12 U/11B's Moss Vale 24 def Mittagong 18 U/11A's Narellan Blue 24 def Narellan White 18 U/12B's Appin 28 def Bowral 6 U/12A's Thirlmere-Tahmoor 24 def Narellan 6 U/13B's Mt Annan-Currans Hill 14 defeated Camden 12 U/13A's Narellan 28 defeated Thirlmere-Tahmoor 0 U/14B's Mt Annan-Currans Hill 20 defeated Moss Vale 14 U/14A's Narellan 20 defeated Camden 16 U/16C's Mittagong 19 defeated Picton 16 U/16B's Mt Annan-Currans Hill defeated Thirlmere-Tahmoor 26 U/16A's Thirlmere-Tahmoor 21 defeated Warragamba 10 The weekend was fantastic - great footy - great sportsmanship - great participation! I just wanted to comment on how impressive it was that Narellan took the very brave step this year putting 2 teams into the U/11A's comp. And instead of creating an AA team and an AB team (as some clubs have done in the past) they seem to have graded them fairly evenly because BOTH Narellan teams made the U/11A's Grand Final! It must have been a bit heart wrenching to know that there could be only one winner on the day. Edited by Black&White, Sep 8 2013, 09:34 PM.

Lions lift premiership trophy By Lauren Wright Sept. 9, 2013, midnight View Article FOR the second year in a row Mittagong under-16Cs held the premiership trophy high. This year they defeated Picton 19-16 to claim their second title after winning the under-14s premiership last year. Adam Fleming scored two tries for Mittagong, Mark Pace also crossed the line along with Nick Eccleston. Eccleston also kicked a goal while Ben Press claimed a field goal to put the match just out of Picton's reach. Lions coach Tim Wyszynski said it was an "awesome win" after a number of tough battles against Picton throughout the year. Mittagong had beaten Picton just twice during the season. One of those was a 6-4 win to claim the minor premiership. "I was pretty anxious. I think I was pacing up and down about 25 times. It's been pretty close games between us all year." Mittagong were unlucky to lose Harrison McClean just three minutes into the match after he broke his leg. "After that the boys really switched on and did it for him. I told them they had to bring a trophy home for him and they were pretty strong in the last 5 minutes." With just minutes remaining in the match Mittagong were up 19-12 before Picton score right on the buzzer. Blake Meyer was awarded Group 6 under-16s player of the year while Benn Wills was named player of the day. Wyszynski said there were no real standout players in Saturday's match, with the whole team rising to the occasion. "Everyone lifted and tried their best and we pushed pretty hard." Wyszynski said Eccleston had been one of his star players all year whose presence on the field gave the rest of the team the confidence to get the job done. Mark Pace collects a chip kick from Nick Eccleston to score Mittagong's first try for the match. Photo by Roy Truscott |

Daley names Emerging Blues squad for January Camp NSWRL Media 15/12/2013 9:00:00 AM Over 60 of Australia’s most promising Rugby League players will converge on the NSWRL Centre of Excellence, Narrabeen, in the New Year for the annual 16-18 years Emerging Blues Camp. The one day camp, which will include two skills sessions, presentations on Origin culture as well as lectures on sports science and team leadership, will be held on Thursday January 8. “We were really successful at an age level against Queensland this year where we won every fixture and this age bracket is important to me because it is the beginning of the elite Origin pathway,” Daley said. “There are players from all over the state and the quality of the players selected is first class because of the development pathways the League has had in place for decades. “Another positive is the fact we will have several players from our victorious 2012 Indigenous Under 16’s side attending as part of the group. “These days are about introducing the players to the processes involved with camps, seeing how they adapt to different conditions and viewing how easily they can assimilate what we need from them.” Members of the ASSRL Under 15 Merit A Side from NSW and the ACT have also been invited to attend the camp by NSW VB Blues Coach Laurie Daley. The 16-18 years Emerging Blues Camp is the second of three pre-season camps held by Daley and his coaching staff. The 18-20 years Emerging Blues camp was recently held over two days at Narrabeen with the final Blues in Waiting Camp, for NRL players, to be held at Coogee from Friday January 17 through till Sunday January 19.
