Group 6 Junior's rep teams are playing a trial against Group 10 @ Bathurst on Sunday.

The CRL have made radical changes to a rep system that has worked well for years. They've got rid of the Cluster championships for the U/13's & U/14's ( the cluster was Group's 6, 7, 16 & Illawarra.)

The 16's have been shunted off to the U/18's format and the U/14's & 15's are now playing in the Country Championships , which are being held at Ulladulla on the 25th & 26th of May.

VALE- PAM COOPER

It is with great sadness I inform you of the passing of one of Rugby Leagues hardworking women, Woodbridge Cup Secretary Pam Cooper. Pam passed away last night after a long fight.

Pam spent her entire life devoted to the game of Rugby League.

Pam’s involvement began with Moss Vale Dragons Junior Rugby League and Group 6 Junior Rugby League. Pam was awarded Life membership of Moss Vale Junior League. Pam was also a Life Member of Group 6 Junior Rugby League.

Pam was a well-known figure at CRL Junior Championships throughout the late 1980s & early 1990s with Group 6 and Southern Division teams.

In 1999 Pam moved to the Central West and immediately became involved with Canowindra Tigers R.L.F.C. serving as secretary for 13 years. In recent years until her passing she also held the position of Woodbridge Cup Secretary.

“Pam’s involvement in Rugby League has been instrumental in keeping the Woodbrigde Cup a viable competition. She will be sorely missed by clubs and people involved in the group” said Chief Executive Officer of the Country Rugby League of NSW, Terry Quinn today.

Thoughts are with Pam’s family, friends and the Woodbridge Cup group.

Great night at Thirlmere - no training due to the weather but our U/14's & U/15's rep teams were presented with their rep gear by ex-Group 6 players Nathan Hindmarsh (who needs no introduction) & Jack Stockwell (St George Illawarra), as well as Rugby League Immortal, Graeme Langlands!
Group 6 would like to thank them for giving up their time to attend tonight - I'm sure the boys really appreciated it as well.

Group 6 Junior's U/14's & U/15's Rep teams travelled to Ulladulla over the weekend to compete in the 2013 Country Championships. Despite the terrible weather during the week the weekend was beautiful and some great footy was played. The fields at the Ulladulla Sport Complex were very wet and there were rumours of leeches.........

Both of our teams won their trophy finals on Sunday - which means that they are off to Wyong in a couple of weeks to play their northern opponents.

Group 6 Junior's is very proud of the performance, sportsmanship and behaviour of both teams.

Take note senior clubs ...... these boys are your future!

Stone makes nsw origin side.

IT'S every rugby league player's dream to wear the Blue NSW Origin jersey. But for Moss Vale's Ray Stone, that dream has become a reality.

Stone found out last Monday that he had been selected in the under-16 NSW Origin team which will take on their Queensland counterparts in the curtain raiser before the NRL stars take to the field.

Stone has been playing for West Tigers in the Harold Matthews competition in which his team enjoyed some success.

"We went through the season undefeated and then lost in the game before the grand final," he said.

Stone was first contracted with the Tigers two years ago and during that time he said he had learnt numerous things, which had helped him become a better player.

"Just footwork and ball running skills and positioning myself, they've helped me a lot with that. They've helped me become a better footy player."

Playing in the second row, Stone said he had not expected the selection.

Stone said the thought of playing in front of such a large crowd was daunting but was excited to have the opportunity.

"I'm pretty nervous at the moment. I don't usually get that nervous before footy but just thinking about playing in front of heaps of people, it's pretty daunting."

The NSW team will be coached be one of Cronulla's coaching staff with the team manager from Parramatta. They will go into camp tomorrow at Narrabeen, where the first grade side will also be training.

My thoughts go out to the young U6's kid at Warragamba yesterday who looked to have dislocated his hip... Was a terrible injury that happened only about 5 minutes into the first game of the day.

Wasnt moved for about 1 & 1/2 hours and it was that bad they asked everyone who was close to where it happened to move away..

I hope everything is ok with the young bloke as nobody likes seeing things like that happening...

He is in Westmead Children's Hospital - they operated on him last night. His leg was badly broken. Terrible accident at the best of times but especially for one so young.

That's terrible news, I can't imagine how the parents must be feeling. My young bloke is in the u6 also but you never think that at that age they could get a serious injury like that.

Congratulations to the Group 6 JRL under 15’s Representative Team who won the Under 15’s Trophy Finals against Newcastle School Boys, in the Country Rugby League Championships at Mingara Sports Ground, Tumbi Umbi last weekend.

In a close game Group 6 came away with the 16 to 14 win with tries to Jackson Willis, Jack Greene and Rhys Donavan, and two goals to Kyren Jacob.

Unfortunately the under 14’s lost to the Central Coast in their Finals 26 to nil, but both teams did a great job and we are proud of their effort while representing Group 6 JRL in the 2013 Country Rugby Championships. The future for Group 6 representative footy is looking good with this talented group of boys.

The next games on the Group 6 JRL Calendar will be when the U13’s, U14’s & U15’s Representative Teams play in the City v Country matches on the 6th July at the Campbelltown Stadium.

Fingers crossed for next weekend weatherwise - our U/13's, U/14's & U/15's are playing Wests in the City vs Country clash at Campbelltown Stadium.

The boys get as much buzz out of running through the tunnel and playing on grass as they do playing the game.
