To Michael Liubinskas Thanks for taking the time to read my previous email and reply to it. I have read today's article in the Telegraph titled "Last days of mighty Magpies" to which I feel very betrayed by the Wests Tigers organisation and you as Chairman of the Western Suburbs Magpies board. If I had known that a joint venture was of the context that Stephen Humphries refers to it as in the article (It's a transitional vehicle to a completely different and single entity), then I would never have agreed to the joint venture in the first place. You PROMISED we as football club members would be updated on any developments regarding the club at this year's Annual General Meeting, yet we have received nothing since. You mentioned to me via phone conversation earlier this year that you were rebuilding relationships between the football club, Wests Leagues Clubs, Wests Junior League and Wests Tigers, yet all I see from your work is some signage at the front of some office buildings next to Wests Campbelltown Leagues Club promoting Wests Tigers as the home of Rugby League. Where the hell is there any Western Suburbs Magpies promotion or publicity as the pathway to success being the Wests Tigers. It appears to me you are only interested in promoting the Wests Tigers brand and diminishing the Wests Magpies presence in the Macarthur area. YOU as a board member of Wests Ashfield Leagues is RESPONSIBLE for what is currently playing out with our NSW Cup side of 2012. YOU surely would have been involved in the delaying of financial backing to the Western Suburbs Magpies Football Club until all our players and coach from last season were picked up by other clubs (particularly BALMAIN....surprise that!) for this season. And THEN......after hurting the club so much was made chairman of the club WITHOUT any notice given to its football club members! It has resulted in the WORST SEASON EVER in the football club's 104 year history! WELL DONE MICK! GREAT WORK! YOU also mentioned to me that you would have details on the clubs website as to the why the club SACKED club coach Trevor Schodel.......still nothing has been mentioned to club members! Mick, you have broken alot of promises to me and the other football club members so far this season and it doesn’t fill me with much hope for the clubs future with discussions coming up this Thursday evening with Balmain and Wests Tigers. You might be part of history having played for both Western Suburbs Magpies and Balmain Tigers and for that be worshipped at the Wests Tigers, but you will be forever remembered for killing off the Western Suburbs District Football Club. Wests Magpies Forever! Kerry Mullins Member No. 234 |

Sorry Kel, could you clarify your post. Are you saying Mick is changing his view on things and is for a stand alone Magpies NSW Cup side or is he now only showing his true colours of black white and orange? Remember he did play for balmain as well! |

I,m not sure which way he is leaning in the merger of Nsw cup but to say he hasn,t got the clubs interest and history in heart I think is untrue. I have seen a few attacks on him lately that seem to be a backlash from the recent articles in the daily telegraph. These articles don,t seem to be anything we don,t already know and have over the top headlines written over the top. This post is not just about the above posts but my thoughts on a collective of different posts. Although I have put alot of conflicting views on your posts One Eyed Magpie I have no anamosity towards you just don,t see it the same way. Hope to meet you soon for a beer and a chat.

I think it is a case of watch and see. This meeting has to happen. until it does our future will not be clear. The proposal needs to be read and understood by our board. This gives them the chance to reject it outright, or to further consider or negotiate a suitable outcome. If the board comes up with a compromise or deal (what ever that may be) they need to take it to the members. First as an open meeting where we can openly discuss it or discuss alternatives. Then us members must be given a few weeks to think about all the implications so we can make an informed decision, then it must be voted on by the members. That is the democratic way. I still have faith in our board, and have faith that they will demand any decision of this nature will be taken back to the members as per the constitution. |

Hi again moshmagpie and galahs I of course respect all your views and hope I have never played them down or dismissed. If I have I am truly sorry. I know everyone on here only has the magpies best interests at heart. I look forward to meeting with you both sometime soon, hopefully celebrating our future when it can be confirmed we will be competing in the NSW Cup next year and beyond. I guess I have a massive chip on my shoulder and think the worst of situations. I would describe myself as a glass half empty person. I grew up going to the footy with my dad following the magpies, it was a special bond. I have fond memories of Lidcombe Oval, Orana Park and Campbelltown Sports stadium. These memories run very deep and I hold alot of anger against the administrations of the past that wanted Wests out of the comp, only for the benefit of their own club. Forgive me if I go over the top sometimes, but I really dont trust anyone in this world based from past experiences. I really hope you guys are right, but it is my belief that we will not be given an opportunity to vote on anything. If the board decides on a merged NSW team then thats what is going to happen. |

To suggest Mick has dudded the club is totally wrong. I was sceptical of him at first, too, as an Ashfield appointee but, while the other three Ashfield appointed members are nowhere to be seen, Mick, along with the other elected members, are there with shoulders to the wheel. I want to see what suggestions are made before making any further comment. After all, we all know Humphreys and his Lilyfield cabal want us to die so Balmain can have the identity of the JV to themselves. Hopefully good news arrives before I fly to Auckland on Friday to cheer the boys on. |

Hi Alien. Thanks for asking. As yet no reply, but I did note that the very next day a media release was posted on the clubs website regarding both the replacement of the coach and the Wests Tigers "White -Toilet- Paper Report". I guess I did step over the line a bit, but I am angry about what is happening to the Western Suburbs District Football CLub! If it dies, a bit of me will die with it. |
