I hate to say that I was right, but I knew we wouldnt be getting a chance to discuss or vote on this proposal. With 4 of the board appointed by Wests Ashfield Leagues it was always going to side with the Wests Tigers! As far as I knew only Paul Dillon and Bob Cairns were for a Magpies NSW Cup side. 2 out of 7 isn't enough!

Through some contacts I have been handed the details of a constitutional lawyer.

The other day we had a chat over the phone and we has asked me to send a copy of the constitution to him. I'll get him to give an opinion about overthrowing the Wests Ashfield members off our football club board.

I also will begin investigating how we gain control back of our Harold Matthews and Balls teams and as a district club can we prevent Wests Tigers from entering Junior teams in our area.

We cannot give up our District Club status or we may as well kiss our Magpies goodbye.

Where is the press release from the Balmain side of the j/v?

Should the Wests side of the j/v demand Balmain issue a press release?

BUT, what I would like to know is what was officially discussed at the "ïnformation meeting" on thursday evening on the 14th June. Our press release simply states the board of the football club have agreed to the recommendations. What officially are the proposals the Wests side have agreed to pending further discussions?

We have an idea what was discussed, but how about a joint press release by all parties as to what was proposed. Our press release is just adding to the confusion, driving the rumour mill and making people angry.

Let's find out what the conditions are first.

I'm not happy about the situation any more than anyone else, but if the conditions include playing 8 games at C'town, for example, there might be some justification for support.

Not saying taht's what a condition is, as I do not know, but before we all go ape, let's find out what the conditions are.

Some conditions might help fix the bastardised basketcase that is the Jnr League, after all.

I would like to know what the proposals are first before thrashing out what conditions the Wests side should adopt. Perhaps we, the supporters can then have an input as to what conditions be imposed on the proposal.

Don't forget there is NO EGM set down for 30th June as some people believe. At the last AGM, the football club chairman, Mick Liubinskas only gave a committment or undertaking (and only after considerable pressure by a member from the floor) that a decision on the future of the magpies NSW Cup side would be made by 30th June. He DID NOT and THERE WAS NOT an undertaking to have a EGM meeting take place on the 30th June. Even if an EGM was called right now, the logisitics would probably prevent one being held on 30th June. If an EGM can be made asap, then that's fantastic news but to date there is no OFFICIAL word that an EGM is taking place anytime soon.

Wow. Someone was actually listening at the AGM. Thanks Old Magpie Lad, I was blasted by the guys on facebook saying no meeting was promised and that we were only promised that a decision would be made by the 30th June. Everyone seems to think that we will be given a chance to vote on this, but I believe if the board has a majority in favour of the proposal, then it will go ahead. Did we have a chance to vote on whether the Wests Tigers take control of our SG Ball and Harold Matts sides? no we did not. This decision is no different.

We will be voting on this. Rest assured. but yes, no date for the vote was set, and we must demand that we have suitable time to read over the proposal first, have a chance to ask questions before being rushed into voting.

Or is that what the Wests Tigers want, a rushed decision so they have a contract with plenty of loop holes for them to exploit.

The other question is, what happens if we do vote against it. Will Wests Ashfield again refuse us funding?

And what about the rumour that Rick Wayde has a funding proposal for the Magpies. Anyone know more about that?
