Hi all Magpie Supporters

It goes without saying that I have enjoyed my time on the Western Suburbs Magpies Forum judging by the number of posts I have made since joining. I apologize if I have monopolized it by needing to have an opinion on nearly every subject on here.

I have been thinking in what way we could best harness all this energy to perhaps have evolve into positive actions for the betterment of the Western Suburbs District Football Club.

Should we start an official supporters group where by we meet on a monthly basis to discuss everything magpies. It would be a good way to meet other magpie fans, and enable us to act on issues that we feel are important for the football club at the time.

Perhaps there could be a yearly subscription, and we could have an official president, secretary and treasurer etc.

Further down the track we could invite former players as special guests and so forth.

I feel by having such a group, it would give us supporters an organisation we could go to, to express our concerns, opinions and suggest ideas. I also think it would help give us more creditability.

We could even hold our meetings at Wests Campbelltown to help build broken bridges. At the very worst, it would give the place some magpie presence on a regular basis?

Unfortunately, there are alot of supporters (like me) who are maggies 100% but have never joined the football club, the leagues clubs- yes but not the other. With a three year wait to vote and with a possibililty of no team should we join now ? Will it help?
If so please give details etc where memberships can be made.

Hi Parent

Although by joining the football club and leagues club now will make you ineligible to vote until a few years from now, I would still think it a good idea. I believe membership details for the football club are on the club website www.westsmagpie.com.au

Definitely, the more members the stronger our club can be.

You can get your membership application from the website.

Just print it out, fill in the details and send it in http://www.westsmagpies.com.au/home/001/php/membership.php

If worse comes to worse, you will get the Magpies last ever membership keyring.
But lets hope it is just the beginning of your collection :)

I don't know about an official clubs as sorts, but I don't see why we cannot organise a social meetup where we can discuss everything Magpies.

Maybe we could even get a few directors, the coaching staff and players past and present to attend.

Seeing as though we have the next two weekends free, could we organise something for the following weekend at Campbelltown Leagues?

On this thread,

How about a few of us blokes and sheillas catch up for a beer.

Saturday 7th July.

Instead of Wests Campbelltown, we should meet up at Wests Tennis Club, (it's only a hundred metres up the road), and if you're a member of the Leagues Club, you're a member there too. Not a member, not a problem, I can sign you in.

It's a better place to sit down and have a chat.

I reckon a kick-off time at two o'clock would be the go.

It'll be great to share stories about everything Western Suburbs.

Post here on this thread if you're interested.

Looking forward to catching up with you and other Magpies who can make it.

You'll recognise me cause I'll be wearing a WESTS jumper from the 1960's. (reproduction).
