BNRU went down 32-20 to Auburn. Unfortuantely one of the Wests player on the day, Rogers, didn't have a good day in D. Let in 2-3 tries with some poor reads/commitment in D. Was weird, as he was VERY strong in their game against Mounties a few weeks back. Even the best can have bad ones and BNRU didn't help their cause with poor turnover at times...Tom Pritchard was in the side as starting prop. Didn't have a lot of impact and seemed off the pace at times. H ecan only get better for the experience, though.

How did Marshall's younger brother go at fullback?

Marshall-King was a standout the week before at FB, but was apparently meant to be Touma's replacement but did a "no show"...

Good performance by BNRU today against Cabra, going down 30-22. Tom Pritchard started at prop, with another young Wests player, who started in the centres and went to FB 2nd half. Apologies, not too sure of his name. Tom struggled a little but the other player went very well, especially when he went to FB. Was told he was apparently coming back from a broken arm. BNRU look to be getting some consistency and their good D at times ruffled Cabra and allowed them to get their attack into full swing, and I'm sure they won the 2nd half 22-16. I'm sure BNRU are appreciative of the Wests boys once again helping out. Marshall-King was at 7 with another NYC kid, Jack Madden, at 6. Both looked good. Considering their age and inexperience, they can be proud of their efforts.

Onya Slick for the update. Pity to hear about Marshall doing a no show! Hope there isnt an attitude problem with him? I have never met him, so unfair for me to judge. I cant remember the fullbacks name youre talking about, but think he played most of last year at fullback for the magpies. Think he broke his arm in first round against manly at lidcombe oval!

BNRU with 8 regulars out, went down 40-20 to competition heavyweights and one of 2 favs to win this year, Windsor. No Wests players as I heard the only player due to play, Tom Pritchard, pulled out on game day. Not too sure why. They did, for the first time this year, get 2 BRET players for this one. Mark Russell, who I hear is an ex Wests player anyway, at 7, and another in the centres. BNRU actually lead 10-4 25mins in, but were down 20-10 at HT. 3 quick tries to Windsor in the first 20mins of 2nd half on the back of some very dubious penalties, sealed the match, but BNRU hit back with 2 late ones to get some pride back. Other than the 3 quick try period, they went toe to toe with Windsor.

Yes, Marc Russell played for us last year - one of 6 players from the Western Suburbs side last year that went to BRET (Gus Aiga, Josh Davis, David Harris, Dayne Craig, Marc Russell and Taqele Naiyaravaro although Taqele did get a call up to WT U20 late last year and stayed there for the rest of the year).
Unsure if Marc was returning from injury that he played for BNRU.

Tom Pritchard joined the Magpies about 6 wks ago - wasn't with them at the start of this year and didn't play for Wests last year either so I'm unsure where he was recruited from.

BNRU went down 46-24 yesterday. No Wests players this week and Joe Ulibau (sin binned with about 10mins to go) was back in the centres. BNRU once again had 2 BRET players in their squad, Marc Russell and Alipate (last name?), both in the halves. After being down 28-6 at HT, BNRU came out pumped up and held it to 18-18 for the 2nd half. They play St Johns at home next week.

Thanks Slick for the update.

By the way, where does BNRU train? And where is their home ground?
