And who is on the Wests Tigers Joint Venture Football Operations Subcommittee?

Would there be any members of the board of Western Suburbs Magpies on this subcommittee? If so, why havent they been able to make a decision? Do they have split personalities?

The Board of Western Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club Ltd. wishes to advise its membership that the Joint Venture Football Operations Subcommittee is further reviewing information regarding possible arrangements for the 2013 competition.

We regret having to delay the distribution of any recommendations, but the Board considers it is important that Western Suburbs can ensure all that stakeholders will be represented in an equal manner.

Further questions are being put by Board members to the Football Operations Subcommittee to seek additional information regarding all issues that are currently being considered.

When sufficient details are provided, it is proposed that they will then be reviewed and discussed at a General Meeting.

I smell some hesitation because of the Leichhardt-Lilyfield Latte-sippers shitfight.

Hopefully Ashfield are getting ready to stick it to them.

I think the football subcommittee is a WT committee. The fact that Ashfield have appointed Mick, who is not an Ashfield board member, makes things murky should Ashfield ask questions of the football club and vice-versa.

However, in this instance, no conflict. If Ashfield go soft after all the do-do released about Balmain, then they never had Wests at heart. After all, Balmain shouldn't just be criticised by Rozelle locals, they should bve called before ASIC, the ACCC and ICAC.

Hi the-pollie

Just bare with me for a tick. Just say it were true that Mick "Im a tiger really" Luibinkus was on the Wests Tigers White Paper committee, would it not be a conflict of interest for him to be chairman of the Wests Magpies? I would have thought Wests Tigers would have only picked pro Tigers members. As far as I am concerned we have a chairman and a majority of the Wests Magpies board who are happy to see the death of the Western Suburbs District Football Club. everything I have said that will happen has happened. I see no reason why this wont happen as well! Im a very pissed off magpie supporter right now!

True, it would be a conflict of interest. However, I can't see how he would be. The WT football committee would comprise people who run the onfield operations, rather than off-field managers. Hence Mick would not be there, as he has a job separate to football.

I can't argue with you re: Ashfield, but the elected directors are on the other side of the equation. Mick himself-originally yes, but the more I see and hear of him and from him, the more I am convinced he is having misgivings about WT, and it's not because he's falling out with Ashfield either.

He appears to be worried about the club not only dealing with Elias Capone, but also with the way WT treat Wests as a whole. It seems he is being converted, and it's all due to WT being belligerent bastards.

That's my view, anyway.

Thanks The_pollie for your take on things. I think your view has more substance than mine. I will be interested to hear our boards take on the Wests Tigers proposal. Im hoping though that they will be free to speak their mind to us members without any pressure from the Wests Tigers or leagues clubs.

It is my opinion that there will be only one outcome, and that there will be a Wests Tigers NSW cup team for 2013 and beyond, and that the Western Suburbs Football Club will cease to exist as there will be nothing for it to do. I hope Im wrong though!
