The first time probably ever a Saturday night game will be held at community oval moss vale this week with the Dragons taking on oakdale. Over the last couple of seasons the old timber light poles & lights have been replaced and the lux cover has improved greatly now due to the new lights being placed closer to the field.

I played a Saturday night game at Robbo in August 2003, the temperature was somewhere near minus 3. All the players where huddled around the portable lights cos they were run off diesel generators. So I'm not looking forward to it. Good ploy Mossy, use the conditions to your advantage

Referees are getting a bit precious these days! Trimarchi sent off for blowing a kiss at a touchie and our centre sin binned for back chatting the other touchie.
Heard at the game that the Gr 6 Executive Officer almost got voted out after the Referees Association raised a motion. Can anyone elaborate please?
The refs are a bit precious, but maybe a call to referees boss might clear things up. If they are going to be like that, it might be an idea to find out, because they are clamping down on players and captains attitudes toward them. It is pretty disrespectful and silly of your captain to blow a kiss at an official, doesn't warrant being sent off though.
Rule 4536 - subsection 21 Any player seen blowing kisses to a referee or sideline official must follow it up with an immediate marriage proposal or be sent from the field. The send off wasn't for the kiss This brightened my day

On another front, yesterday at Thirlmere probably the smallest Thilrmere crowd I have seen for 15 years. Not many Dragons supporters went down the road either but you can normally rely on the Roosters having good vocal crowd, but nothing. Our regis got a win over the Roosters and our 1st grade fought back in second half and with another 10 mins could have won it. I dont know if the Roosters were missing players but they didnt look like the Roosters we have become accustomed to over the past decade

Smallest crowd I've ever seen there. Maybe the weather contributed? In saying that, it really wasn't that bad. Miserable, yes, but I've experienced much much worse at footy.

Our captain-coach (who is not known for having a great relationship with refs) was discussing the 10 metres with the ref. It all ended quite amicably (no, really, I'm not being sarcastic) and as he was turning to return to the defensive line, our coach said something along the lines of "no worries mate, you're doing a good job" and gave him a pat on the bum. Sent to the bin for 10. Again, probably shouldn't have done it, but was not intended to offend. I thought it was a bit precious to say the least.

Miserable, yes, but I've experienced much much worse at footy. Crowds have been ordinary, we've been pretty happy with ours, but I did notice the same at Thirlmere. No cone hill anymore, it was a hostile environment once upon a time.

Hillbillies banging on old tin signs, with lounges on the back of clapped out paddock bashers with 17 dogs was once the norm at thirlmere. Maybe the area is becoming more middle class

Come on Frenchy, surely skinny knows better. lol Definitely mate. Like, I said, a bit silly since it could be interpreted as disrespectful even if not intended to be. But he was still genuinely surprised after the game that he got binned. He's made a career out of disrespecting refs but swears that was not the case this time!

The "stitch em up " Roosters fans were tops to play against!! Hostile and funny at the same time!!
Night game at Community should be good Mitta have always had good night crowds cant see mossy being different.
Robertson must be the only club that has heating in the away sheds but NOT THE HOME!!!! Unless thats changed

But when you only get 2 home games for the whole season there's not much point in going over the top and upgrading too much!!
And yes night games probably won't be trialled again at Robertson for quite a while unless we could find a way to keep the fog from rolling in..

I hear you ...how you suppose to fund raise ect with only 2 home games ...Appin get only one home game per team and the first one was only two games not the normal three as they cater for Bundanoon haveing to travel lol they dont care that all the other clubs have to travel as well ..the 2nd home game we have a bye how we suppose to get people there if we dont have both teams playing..poorly organised all this to cater for refs and 1st grade clubs little clubs dont matter....

Former Thirlmere and Goulburn centre Justin Miller has tonight linked with the City club for the remainder of the 2013 season. Former Thirlmere, Goulburn and Picton centre. Good get. He doesn't have that blinding speed he used to, but he's very solid and experienced player. Could be a good buy.

The way this weather is going Community Oval will be in the Wingecarribee River. I went to Goulburn yesterday and the weather was relentless. There was a lot of water on the side of the road.
