Interesting day at The Oaks yesterday, 6 players sent off in regis, game called off before half time. 3 from each team. All referred straight to judiciary, along with some water runners as well. Word is Group will be clamping down on fighting, particularly all ins. So who knows what the outcome will be.

What was the outcome of the game? Abandoned? or The Oaks victory?

The Oaks won 12-0 as the game was called off just after half time 3 players sent off from Moss Vale and they had a player sent for ten earlier for back chatting and 4 players sent off from The Oaks we also had this ref last week against Picton and he sent about 6 players to the bin

Bryce Gibbs to Thirlmere next year, he wants a job in the mines and would have played on in the NRL but injuries have caught up with him. From a source within G6.

I think that the city result on the weekend suggests they are a completion threat. 4 point loss without dalton!! They are definatly a 12 point better team wen he does play.

CCKRLFC are flying under the radar. Thirlmere may not be a consistent outfit this year but the Roos to win this game without Drew is a positive sign. A few additions and some to come will continue to build confidence and add some pressure on the so called big 3. This club is coming along in leaps and bounds and all involved should hold their heads high.
If they can knock off oakdale next week that will definatly put them on radar. I don't think that they have even come close to the "big three" and were pushed by mossy!!
Good call Brutus, you know your footy

Not as well as you know the point system!!
I heard city had a couple out not just dalton and had a player binned?
They could be the dark horse in the semis

I'm not big on bagging referees. They are an essential part of the game and are doing a job that not too many of us would want to do ourselves. This young ref no doubt had no choice but to send these guys off for fighting, since that is the rule.

Having said that.... I have never seen another refereeing performance as bad as what he provided for us the week before in reggies against The Oaks. I mean that literally. No exaggeration. Forget about who won or lost, his over-officiating and constant whistle blowing completely ruined the game. We had four players sin binned for high tackles or shoulder charges. One Oaks player was sin binned for a flop. The penalty count was astronomical. It became very clear early on that his intent was to penailse anything bordering on aggressive. Good hard tackles were penalised. Let's remember aggression is not illegal. Some would say it's an important part of our game. Neither side was able to get on any kind of a roll whatsoever. Coaches, players, officials and spectators from both clubs (plus a high profile ref who went off the record) were in 100% agreement after the game that he'd completely lost the plot.

It's a real worry. I hope that it was just one bad game, and not his style of officiating. If a player dragged a parent, friend or family member to that as their first game as a spectator, they would've not come back for a second. It was nothing short of appalling.

Totally agree the players fighting had to be sent he had no other choice but you could see early on he was going to repeat his performance from the week before I understand he is only young but maybe someone should have a word with him and explain people pay $8 to watch us play not him blow his whistle

Geeez this forum has a lot of credibility now. I remember footy use to be spoken about on this forum, by the look of the last few weeks no one has any real footy issues to speak about

Ben Stevens Cup Day

CRL Group 6 Round 16: 'Fortress' Fullwood Reserve, Claymore
1st Grade: Campbelltown City vs Camden Rams 2.30pm kickoff
Reserves: Campbelltown City vs Camden Rams 1pm kickoff
U-18s: Campbelltown City vs Mittagong Lions 11.30am kickoff

It will be a big day for both clubs as we unite against the scourge that is youth suicide. We unite not only to remember Benny, but also for the families of the Camden Rams RLFC that have been similarly afflicted.
All City jerseys will be available on the day in a silent auction, with reserve prices starting at $50. The funds from every jersey auctioned will be donated to Headspace Campbelltown.

Our Kangaroos' teams will also be wearing black armbands honouring the passing of Life Member, Wayne 'Wingy' Thompson, who lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday. A minute's silence will also be observed prior to the commencement of each grade.

Moody it's about time you pulled your head in and get back to the Wests forum. It's nothing but sour grapes with you, I can remember when you were running around at Narellan for a while couldn't make the grade and left for the Wests comp. :hey:

On footy, Mittagong looking far to strong at the moment with great depth and with the 18's that are backing up, they are a class act. Baker to come back this week adding more to their depth.

I have a son who is born the same year as Ben, so this is something close to me and I think we should all respect the day and hopefully get people to watch for the warning signs. I lost my brother at the same age so I understand the pain the families go through. Life is too short but I think his family will be proud of this event in his honour.
