Very stron mail regarding Appin, Whiteman to coach 1st and Hellyer-X ref Spanos to co-coach reserve grade, Spano will take his Bulls 18s and Hellyer ESA reseve grade which a portion will play 1st grade.

Return of O'Mullane and the Grahame boys,Chris Hales from Thirlemere, should see Appin field all grades. Well done Appin good to see them back.
Gee Appin are kidding aren't they, Surely there are better coaches available.

Is this true Doggies Girl or Appinboyz? That Hellyer is constantly bagged as a wanna be on the Wests thread and 2 former referres with no coaching qualifications.

Ah well good luck at leases your in the big league now.
I'm assuming Appin got Hellyer cos he will take a few players with him and he does gab a bit.
Dad said Appin will use him to get his players across and him to sponsor them also. Doggies Girl is a smart cookie get to him get his players and sponsors. Once Appin get the ESA and Bulls 18s from Spanos Appin have what they need. Dad reckons it's all about getting players and Appin have to sacrifice putting up with him to get his players.

guys all speculation,
no signings as of yet and doggies girl will also not comment on
the if's and maybe's. Good to see some rumours and very well could
be trumours, but will not be let outa the bag until we have them signed sealed
and delivered. REmember the same was said at the end of last year and season ended
but we were not in the comp, even though many rumours had us with many options.
Myself and Doggies girl im sure will post when all is definite.
And fencey, hope your Dad or yourself aren't having sour grapes, sure sounds that way
:drink:   :correct:
If you do sign the 3 mentioned it will be a long hard year at Appin sorry to say.

Id be sacking your recruitment person ASAP lol just my opinion.
I know nothing is confirmed as yet, but they are interesting choices (not saying that in a negative way).
From what I know whitman hasnt coached any opens teams and that could be an issue.
Hellyer has been in a capt/coach type role at quite a few clubs. i think how well goes will be determined by how many players he can get over there without going over the points allocated and how much support he has.
Spanos has coached at 18's level for the last few years and has done pretty well and alot of guys out there like his coaching style. Would be interesting to see what role he plays,if any.

Either way, hopefully they can get a competetive team together. My tip is the Eagles who will go back to back, they have a great base and plenty of young guys coming through.

Hellyer was a 2nd division bench player at the Oaks in third grade before heading to ESA as a player then a coaching assistant/player,and before that a bench player at Oakdale.

Has done little but talks the talk and has alot of polynesion players that may follow from ESA pending on what they get in return.

Appin are back and that is all that matters no matter who is going there, Well done Appin

They turned up at the AGM with no information about their plans other than they wanted to have juniors. They have been asked to provide some sort of 5 year plan including info about where they plan to play, what facilities they will have available, possible sponsorship, proposed drawing area etc.

They are also proposing a junior club in an area (Bargo) that has been identified by the Dept of Planning as having no plans for development in the near future. As well they will potentially be drawing from areas that are already within 2 other clubs' boundaries - Thirlmere & Mittagong.

The Junior's Forum will be held on the 24th November so the issue will be discussed then. There has been a sub committee working all season on proposed boundary changes and investigating the potential growth and expansion of the whole Group 6 junior's area.

I suppose the question is, will a junior club at Bargo be sustainable and how will it impact on surrounding clubs?

After that the General Committee will vote on a possible Bargo club. The next General Meeting is in February but a special meeting may be called earlier to make a decision on the application.

Oran Park Juniors has now been in existence for 12 months even though they had no teams this year - they are planning to enter teams in 2013. A team will also be developed at Gregory Hills in the future. The north of the Group is where the massive growth is happening.

In the past the boundaries for juniors were drawn up with lines drawn on the map from Post Office to Post Office but that doesn't work so well in in high density areas and often divides communities that should be together. The boundaries are being looked at by the sub committee. All clubs have a map showing their boundaries.

On a boundaries topic with the future Gregory Hills team i can just see WSDJRL trying to claim it don't ask me why i just can. Probably because of it's close proximity to St Greg's/Eagle Vale, who knows once Gregory Hills Drive gets extended all the way they might base their home ground at the school???

I think the boundary between Group 6 and WSDJRL is the water canal.

If Oran Park has no senior side where to for the Juniors :dunno: Will Narellan be allocated them as 2 point players, The Group EO had a lot to do with Oran Park forming and he is an old Narrellan boy :dunno: :dunno: Makes you wonder these kids will need to progress to seniors one day. Same for Gregory Hills, you either put in a senior team for juniors to progress to or where do they end up :cstars:

What is wrong with Narellan getting Oran Park juniors. We are the closest club to them and makes sense.
