Very stron mail regarding Appin, Whiteman to coach 1st and Hellyer-X ref Spanos to co-coach reserve grade, Spano will take his Bulls 18s and Hellyer ESA reseve grade which a portion will play 1st grade.

Return of O'Mullane and the Grahame boys,Chris Hales from Thirlemere, should see Appin field all grades. Well done Appin good to see them back.
Not a chance I've been told Chris hales and the grahams have all ready signed for next year at the roosters under Dane!
whiteman and Hellyer no spanos...like to know where your hearing your info Big Kahoona as Appin know nothing about Hales and Graham Boys even though we would love them back..

Bit of word getting around that Hindy (Nathan) is thinking of having run with the Dragons next year. I know our coach is good mates with him and has been talking to him about it. He even mentioned it on Channel 10 news on Monday night. What a coup that would be for both the Dragons and Group 6 to have an Australian rep playing . Add Geddes to the coaching ranks of the Dragons and things are looking way better than this time last year. I have spoken to a couple of players that didnt play with the Dragons last season and they have said if Hindy and/or Geddes are on board they will be back
Awesome :yeah:
Rusty you guys stole him from the us back in 1991, you won't get him back that easily this time without a fight from the Spuddies!

Would be great for the Dragons and G6 to have him running around down here in 1st grade again.... but I'd reckon it's a pretty long shot that it would happen. His body is fairly busted after 15 seasons in the NRL!
Its a very strong rumour. Coach was having further discussions with Hindy this weekend. So something may come of that. As you say, would be brilliant for Group 6. How are spuddies shaping up for next year? I heard you guys might be trying to get out of 2nd Div. Any truth to that?
We'll be staying in 2nd division Rusty, don't have the player depth, $$$ or off field staff to play any higher grades and 2nd division is a good little comp for a small club like us.

No real planning for next season yet, although there's certainly been plenty of chat amongst the boys at numerous venues since the GF.... :drink:

Presentation night was held last night with a good turn out at the Robertson Hotel, award winners were;

Best & Fairest - Mitch Wright
Players Player - Jesse Mauger
Best Back - Mat Mauger
Best Forward - Clarke Walker
Most Improved - Nick Young
Coach's Awards - Jake Temporali and Mark Whatman
Clubman of the Year - Ben Hansen and Royce Harris

Looking forward to 2013! :correct:

The boys from the Group 6 CRL U/18's Academy spent the weekend in camp at Berry.

They had a visit from Laurie Daley on Saturday & Trent Barrett on Sunday.

I was told that during the sessions, when these guys spoke to them, they "shut up" and listened - you could hear a pin drop.

Good to see things moving forward for Appin..

Congrats to the winners.

I often wonder why Mossy and Robbo cant get their heads together to help each other out player wise. May be Mossy runs 1st grade and Robbo Reserves and then be able to move players between them. Each club keeps there identity but also gives all the good young kids (which both clubs have) a path to play at a higher level. It is very hard to field 2 grade sides with all the different clubs in a small area with no real population growth. I know Mossy has spoken to the Group Exec about this in past and they were very positive about it if we could get another club like a Robbo or Bundy to consider it. I know both clubs historically get on pretty well because most of us went to school together. The juniors helped each other out this year from what i seen in some age groups

Anyway food for thought and maybe both club execs should get there heads together with the Group to see if something could be worked out

Has it been confirmed that Poisel will captain coach Picton in 2013? Captain coach has to be the toughest gig in the game. He is a quality player, but think the magpies would benefit from him being in this role as he would practice what he preaches.

He and Gary Dowse are co-coaching i believe.
There is no confirmation if either of them are playing

Dowse was meant to just coach a few seasons ago then end up putting the boots on, my tip is poisel will be on field leader and Dowse his sideline eye.

Geddes joins the Dragons

MOSS VALE Dragons will return to first grade next year and have also acquired former South Sydney Rabbit's player Scott Geddes as part of their coaching staff.

Geddes was originally going to play but has recently had surgery on his pectoral muscle and said he felt he would not be right for next season.

New first grade coach Andrew Bowie played junior football with Geddes and they also played together at Parramatta.

Bowie was instrumental in bringing Geddes to the club and Dragons president Greg Maloney said they were thrilled to have him for next year.

Coming straight from the NRL, Geddes will have a lot to do with the Dragons strength and conditioning and Bowie said it was a great opportunity for all the players.

"It's a massive opportunity for them to learn and even for myself. It should be something different," he said.

Bowie has been involved with the junior Dragons for a number of years and won a premiership with the under-16Bs this year.

He will now step up to first grade and said he hoped to form a premiership winning team.

"They needed a coach and I enjoy coaching so why not? Semi-final and grand final football isn't beyond us."

"It's going to be a big season for us, hopefully very successful."

Bowie said they key for Moss Vale at the start of next season would be fitness.

"If your not fit then your behind the eight ball."

Maloney said Bowie had "hit the ground running" and the club "couldn't be more happy with how he's started."

Peter McGuinness will coach the under-18s again, with all players from this year's grand final team set to return for the 2013 season.

"Certainly at this time there's great enthusiasm around the Moss Vale ranks with the under-18s doing so well and re-entering first grade," Maloney said.

While the Dragons are still in the market for a front rower and five-eighth, Maloney said they were pleased to have a number of players returning to the club from overseas to bolster their ranks.

Training for the Dragons will start on Friday at 6pm at Community Oval, with training on Tuesday nights at Lackey Park.

Maloney said any interested players were welcome to attend and he looked forward to their first match of the season on march 24 next year against Mittagong Lions.

Although, it's yet to be signed off you can bet on Poisy and Dowsey coaching next year. Realistically, if they want to coach who would the club rather have? Dowsey is a living legend of the club, not to mention a 2 time premiership coach and 3 time premiership player. Poisel is a premiership winning player, with an extremely good football brain. Unless Petero Civinoceva wanted to captain-coach for free, it's a no-brainer.
As far as I know, Dowsey is not planning on playing, but he's as fit as a fiddle, so who knows? I believe Poisel has said he'll play, but only if he thinks it's necessary for the team.
After a sub-par 2012 these two have big plans for 2013. It's early days but things are looking up at Picton.

I'll enter Picton into your market @ $10,000
Can I get 10 bucks on that?

Hearing a few whispers that Mac Bulls have folded and the few remaining people have moved over to the Eagles with Hughes to coach the Eagles 2nd division side..

Seems the Bulls big plan of getting 1st grade and juniors etc has fallen to do-do.

The bulls were told they would have to make changes to their roster if they were to stay in 2nd division.
It's hard for them, if they were allocated Iran park I think they may have made it

If that is the case with Mac Bulls does that mean that all their players are 2 point players as their team has folded? Other info on here seems to support the Bulls would be struggling as their 18's have gone back to ESA or Appin???

It would be hard to take as a player / official from another team if this is the case as it will only make the Eagles stronger, the rich get richer as they say!

Can anyone confirm this or still just a silly season rumour?

Untrue

Gary Potts is coaching Eagles 2nd division. As for the players who knows but not a mass move to Eagles is happening as far as i know unless Blue Devil knows something i dont :dunno: :dunno:
The club is not fielding teams in 2013 due to a few reasons i dont need to elaborate about on here and the executive including myself have moved on due to work and other commitments. Maybe the year after the club may rise up if a home base and few other things get put in order :correct:
