MrT6 just wondering what area your from and how far you wish to travel? I'm planning to return to ESA if you wanna come down to training and give it a go just off the M5 travel wise if that helps. Plenty of clubs looking for players though mate Easts, Appin, Collies, Camden, City just to name a few.

Hey guys and girls.

Just wondering if any of your Clubs are looking for a hooker/lock/second rower.
Been out for the last year and a half. Not as fit as I use to be, but still have to
Passion and don't think I've lost much, other then speed.

Please let me know.
Cheers.
Appin train on wed nite at 7pm if you want to come out to have a look ....we are fielding 1st and reserve grades...

I live in Narellan and have played for the Oaks and Thirlmere. So travel doesn't bother me.
I heard Appin got teams going  Congrats on that
ESA? Is the west comp still running? Or are you guys joining the ICCC.
I am keen to play in the group 6 comp.

I will continue to search around, but ill come and have a look DG at Appin.

I don't know why i don't go to Narellan, as it is the team closest to home, But as a Mt Annan Junior, i found it hard to go play for them. And they always have there main squad, so it's pretty pointless.
And Thirlmere (Dane) wouldn't want me back there, cause i ain't as fit as i was when we were both out there together.
It's hard to decide. But i want to get back in ASAP. Cause i feel as though i have something to give, even after a year an a half out.

Whiteman and Hillyer at logger heads already over Hillyer wanting to run the 1st and his reggies as 2 separate squads wanting his pick of players?? Wouldn't 1st grade take priority?? Is Hillyer trying a Valley all over again??

Does anyone think that Group 6 should bring back the pre-season comp? I think it was great but a lot of clubs prefer trials.

Has any clubs got trails pencilled in for next season yet that they can advertise.

I liked the format they had a few years ago when group 7 teams also competed in the pre season comp, it also doubled at the time also a chance for selectors to pick a probable group & southern division rep squads. In the end the interest died of mainly because group 7 clubs preferred to play trials pre season.

I would like to see it return but understand clubs want to trial with all their grades on the one day. If the prize money was decent i am sure clubs would be all for it coming back.

Most clubs prefer to trial outside the area...Some group 6 clubs pay to enter knock out comps in either the south coast or cabramatta which are very well run and excellent prize money in all grades or catergorys...these comps are run over a weekend dureing the day multiple fields multple games plenty of giveawys promoteing sponsors of events at one venue...

As a player, I loved the pre season comp, i was lucky enough to win it in the 18's in 06 with Mt Annan, and it's much better than trial matches. As a player, you want to win the pre season comp with your team, and hopefully get the ball rolling for a good season, also let's other teams know you wont be easy beats or on the field just for fun!

Pre season comp is good but trial games are also, when no prize money involved coaches will try all players on the field to help him pick his best team for the season.....
its good to trial outside your group as players and teams you are not familiar with makes you the player use skills a little more....
