The English import Brad Hopkins is that same player that played 2nd Divison over there . The same player that played at the Eagles a few years ago .
^o)
well 520 a win or 200 per loss, he must be a descent player surely??? i mean he played in england for christ sake  ???
BIGGEST PLAYER SIGNING IN GROUP 6 HISTORY 100%

Definately not the highest paid player in Group 6 nor the biggest player signing in history lol.......
Sydney Morning Herald this morning reporting that Nathan Hindmarsh, Ian Hindmarsh and Scott Geddes will be making guest appearances for the Dragons at various stages this season. Disco? Rusty Nail?
2 points each player! What's the bet they all trot out against Mittagong...

Moss Vale reunion for Hindmarsh brothers
By SAM HALL
http://www.illawarramercury.com.au/story/1214446/moss-vale-reunion-for-hindmarsh-brothers/?cs=302
Posted Image

Former Parramatta Eels duo Nathan and Ian Hindmarsh are set to reunite in 2013 where their professional careers first materialised - with a junior club, the Moss Vale Dragons.

The brothers, originally from Robertson on the Southern Highlands, have agreed in principle to the occasional Group 6 appearance as a way of giving back to country rugby league.

The pair will be joined by another highlands junior, retired South Sydney forward Scott Geddes, who has been appointed Moss Vale's fitness and strength coach, and former teammate Andrew Bowie, who was recently appointed head coach.

Moss Vale Dragons president Greg Maloney confirmed the club had been in talks with the Hindmarsh brothers after Nathan first entertained the idea of returning to park footy last year.

"Nathan's a Moss Vale junior - he played under 16s and under 14s with the club - and he sees the whole thing as a great way of giving back," Maloney said.

"All four of those guys - Nathan, Ian, Scott and Andrew - went to Parramatta together as juniors to play in the late '90s - and that's how everything sort of came about."

Nathan drew the curtain on an illustrious 330-game NRL career, which included 23 Test and 17 Origin appearances, in September this year.

It's understood the 33-year-old is elated at giving back to the code, but cannot commit to playing an entire season because of a television commentating agreement.

Meanwhile Ian, who retired in 2007 and currently operates a farm in Cowra, agreed to front for the odd game after hearing of his younger brother's interest.

Maloney welcomed the Hindmarsh coup with open arms, and hoped it would help restore the club's first-grade credentials.

Moss Vale last won the Group 6 title in 2010, before suffering a "premiership hangover" and bowing out of the top tier a year later.

The club fielded a third-grade side for the 2012 season, but has ramped up its campaign for 2013.

"It shows that high-profile players aren't afraid to put something back into bush footy," Maloney said of the deal.

"At first, Nathan was worried that him being there for the odd game might push someone else out of the team. But having a former NRL player like him there is a fantastic thing for rugby league.

"The club is hoping that the prospect of playing alongside Nathan or Ian might appeal to young blokes from the area who are thinking about playing again."

The Hindmarsh brothers have strong family roots in the Highlands, where their family's dairy farm still operates at Robertson

Is it true Rusty, that Moss Vale are talking to Hindmarsh? I have been talking to some mates and they say that word from Moss Vale is that they are close to getting him!
With Appin and Mossy getting some good signings, they may be up there with the big guns like Easts, Oakdale and Thirlmere.
2013 will be a great season and I'm really looking forward to being apart of it.
Bring it ON!
Hindmarsh to MV for 4 games only????? Is that the deal?
What ever the deal Jetter. It will be on of the greatest coups in Group 6 history.

HAHAHA You idiots!!!!! Hindmarsh to Group 6 rugby league.
I love playing group 6 1st grade footy, the committee seem to be all about creating a strong group competition but give me a break, the group is probably in the middle of the pack for quality country footy. Hindmarsh would be great for group but this dribble should not be allowed to be posted as it is complete utter BS.
whose the idiot now mr facts  , most on here pride themselves and their reputation on keeping this forum as credible as possible, so you still think its dribble ?

Couldnt have said it better STU. Geddes at this stage wont be playing but is on board as Fitness and Strength Co-ordinator. Nathan will be playing more than a few games and will be invaluable to the clubs younger brigade. It is great that he has considered playing at all after such a great career. Says alot about the bloke. Good on him. As far as Ian, from what I hear he is still undecided.

Anyway great for the Dragons and they should be able to build on the great coup

Campbelltown City training to resume Tuesday January 15th, 6.45pm at Stromeferry Reserve St Andrews.

1st Grade Capt-Coach: Drew Dalton
Reserves Coach: Gary Syron
U/18s Coach: TBA

We expect to announce a few signings over the next month, who will complement what we had in 2012. Got a centre down from Parkes who looks handy, an ex- Penrith lower grade forward who will form a formidable combination with Ross Brown and a halfback from the South Coast.

"Nathan drew the curtain on an illustrious 330-game NRL career, which included 23 Test and 17 Origin appearances, in September this year"

These stats alone suggests he will be the biggest signing in group 6 history  , that and the fact he was still playing consistently at the highest level of the game , he was tempted to go one more year after ricky stuart signed on as coach ,so he obviously still has alot to offer. :winner:

Great signing for Mossvale! Well done guys...

He would be ONE of the biggest... it's hard to go past someone like Darren Britt though...

I'm looking forward to seeing Appin & Mossvale back in 1st Grade!

This hindmarsh and Moss Vale thing is going viral. This is a massive coup not only for Mossy, but for the group. Forget all the NRL players we've had before, this guy is the biggest ever. Time to cash in group 6.
The group should jump on this and make sure it happens, what a cash cow it would be for them.

Without question he would be the biggest signing ever. Roughly 20 origins and as many tests for Australia. 300+ NRL games and consistently amongst the most popular players in the game for well over a decade. Absolute legend.

I personally think that Group 6 will be stupid if they don't try keep Hindmarsh around for as long as possible, I know he still works with the NRL, but certainly the Group can offer him some sort of Job to keep him around. But, Congrats to Moss Vale, it is a great coup and like i said in earlier post, Biggest coup in GROUP 6 history!
