I think 3rd grade helps the bigger clubs massively, it shouldn't be neglected in my opinion. Some games are of quality and are often Reserve grade standard.
3rd grade has run it's coarse, by reports only 4 likely teams for 2013. Looking back the last 2 years we've had Appin and MacArthur Bulls both romp in the third tier undefeated then unable to jump up grades, 1 club teams are not working I think it's strongest survive, I'd be looking at the 4-5 3rd grade clubs left go play in the 3rd grade Illawarra comp for a season on loan or until they can field all grades.

2nd division I believe needs scrapping.

What club wants to be on Loan to another district it would be the wests comp all over again parramatta Canterbury or the Iccc .....group 6 look after there own by giving players who cant make grade and smaller clubs a comp to play in..we all know what happens when you are forced to play in another area....players go elsewhere whether its another comp or another sport...we have to look after all clubs not just 1st grade clubs....

Exactly, its in the group 6 constitution to provide opportunities & develop the game.

If the situation in the Wests district doesn't get better in the next few years watch out for a 3rd grade team from Gregory Hills to pop up and enter. Plenty of good flat land in Gregory Hills don't give me that do-do about what about a home ground lol.

There has already been a "junior" club established at Oran Park who have a field, Gregory Hills won't get a senior team, the juniors from the area will be filtered to either Mt Annan (who have been 3rd grade off and on for years) or Narellan, even with the development of the area both "local teams" are enough.

Even with the extra development of Spring Farm / Elderslie / Camden Acres etc, you won't get another team in there as both Narellan and Camden are just up the road, even Mt Annan dependant on boundaries / borders mate.

If ur willing to play at Gregory hills why not drive to minutes up the street and start a senior team where there is already a junior base at Oran park, makes more cents doesn't it!!

Not if you live in Gregory Hills.
People that live there are pretty tribal about this well established area

Once Gregory Hills Drive is extended all the way through to Campbelltown more opportunities will open up for the increasing population it's just demographics. Oran Park won't have a senior team for a bit.

So what clubs are in each grade? Apart from the Campbelltown Eagles fielding all grades and Narellan, Camden and Ctown City fielding 18's, reserve and first grade.

Everybody think they know about all this stuff. But do they really. Who cares who plays where. As long as we are talking about the quality of the football. Narellan's rivalry has always been Camden They cant compete with the likes of the Eagles who can they are the best run and financed club in the Group massive Junior base massive amount of sponsorship. Narellan has more of a rivalry with Thirlemere than they do with the Eagles> Stop the rubbish and bring on the footy. Lets develop a strong 3rd Grade comp instead of playing only in the Southern Highlands. Give clubs incentives and a better draw so if you have a 3rd grade they can play at home with 1sts let then back up and play Reggies

There's nothing better than group 6 rivalry it turns a good game of footy into a belter of a game. In the past few years that rivalry between clubs is slowly fading, personally I would love nothing better than the eagles lose a few games this year not only would it be good for them to lose but make for exciting finals, hopefully jets, mitts gong and mossy turn up this year.

The rivalry's are great.

Narellan vs Camden always a great game, tough and no quarter given.

Thirlmere vs Picton and Mossy vs Mitta.

When I played in Wests juniors the big rivalry was Campbelltown City vs Warriors as they were the 2 teams with the most money. How times have changed.

Who have the Eagles got a proper rivalry with, as all clubs sound as though they want to knock them off, apart from the Breast Cancer game they play? They took Leumeah Wolves old ground etc but as mentioned earlier there never seemed to be a rival team.... maybe Collies?

Back in my Day ESA VS Claymore in jnrs was massive

in years gone by
Mossy vs Robbo
Bowral Vs Mitta
Played in these two darbys and there were massive crowds and plenty of feeling the latter bordered on nearly hatred i can remember one of our 18s players defected to us from mitta and was spat on running onto the field.
