'Keep your friends close but your enemies closer' couldn't be more true for our Club Administrator of the Year at Eagles. Many a 'friend' are willing to dump on him lol and expose his dirty work!!! (PS look in your nest) Word around town/pub is the that even Mr Terry Quinn CEO of CRL has been sent a letter asking for intervention in the Ben Baker saga as Gr 6 has not released him to the Eagles as yet and were dragging their heels. No doubt the local papers have got a copy as well in a campaign to get the Gr 6 Management to relent to the Eagles quest. The guy loves a letter !!!
Would it be a case of better we get him to Eagles at any cost as we have already given him $2500 sign on and it will be hard to get it back if he goes to Mittagong or Thirlmere?? Not many if any players get signons these days, so Eagles MUST have been desparate to get him after all the players have flown the coop and leaving the Eagles in a spot of Moss Vale 'ism (win the comp 1 year then get the wooden spoon the next hahaha) Of course he will be approved to play at Eagles in 2013 as Group have nothing to stop him, but the antics are a slap in the face to other clubs who toe the line and don't bitch moan and whinge at every opportunity when things don't go their way!!!
Bring on the haters !!! Your axe grinding of the Eagles is becoming boring and petty Time to move on salami, the comp is nearing time to talk strictly Footy the political BS is growing old.

Just heard holliwood Hopkins is very close to signing with West Bundy good on him should probably test himself at a higher level as he is a good player. Heard that the only thing stopping him is the sign on fee of $2500 that Oakdale gave him. Surely no one pays anyone $2500 sign on fee this must be rubbish as I know Oakdale would never pay that sort of money nor would any other group 6 team. But the bad blood Im hearing from Oakdale players that that deal may have been done!!!!!! Please tell me T.C this is not the case? If magpies want one of your players they should pay u the money back before I would release him. Dissapinted with all the B.S quotes on this forum lately lets just get on with footy!!! Anyone that cant see that new members that are signing on that have got personal attacks against clubs and people should be deleted...This is the moderators job to to that!!!!So do your job and keep the rubbish off this forum...

i caught the tail end of the jets trial against bundy team Burwood. A bit of a scrappy affair but Jets dont look to have much to worry the big 4 this year. The score 6 all in the end summed up the game.
did PJ play?
Who is PJ? Not everyone played
another rumour doing the rounds is Peter Jensen is at your club. No he didn't play.... yes, some goss around he might pull the boots on for the Jets but he hasn't trained or signed. With half a dozen or so players 'not required' the turnout against Burwood was promising

Great first trial game against burwood 6-6 against a bundy cup side it's the first hit out our side has had together we are going to be a real force this year I'm tipping us to be in the top 3 we have size up front it is what we have been lacking the last few years and the 12 interchange rule will not be a problem for us

Mitch Newton returns to coach the Rams By Sean Cunningham http://www.wollondillyadvertiser.com.au/story/1312113/mitch-newton-returns-to-coach-the-rams/?cs=1678

FORMER Bulldogs NRL player Mitch Newton is hoping to put some bite back into Camden Rugby League Football Club's Group 6 performances this season.
Taking over the first grade coaching role from Mark De Ubago, Newton (pictured) will be assisted by former Bulldogs teammate Brent Sherwin.
Newton, who has a strong bond with the Rams, returns to the club he was part of when they won their last premiership, in 2002.
The Rams have missed out on the finals in recent seasons. Newton hopes to return the club to its glory days, but he realises the task he faces with a young team.
Although his NRL playing days finished more than a decade ago, Newton refused to rule out pulling on a Rams jersey.
But he would have to be backed into a corner for this to happen.
"I'd never say never, but I don't think I'm up to it," Newton said. "But if it came down to having to play someone with a poor attitude then I'd put the boots on.
"I want to bring back a good culture and bring a winning mentality with players who are happy and want to play for the team."
When the Rams run out on Kirkham Park to face their opponents when the season starts late next month it will literally be boys against men.
But they will have some players who possess experience at a higher level.
"We have signed Chris Corby, who was the back-up hooker to Robbie Farah at the Tigers," Newton said.
"We want to utilise a lot of the juniors, we've got some good kids coming through.
"It'll be a lot of young kids playing against seasoned players, but I knew what I was in for when I took the coaching role. I enjoy it and I'm doing it for the love of the club."
Newton encouraged the Rams' faithful to show their support and return on game day.
He vowed to stamp out the bad behaviour which reared its ugly head a few times last season.
"I won't put up with that," he said.
"I want the footy to be a family day out — a place where everyone can enjoy themselves."
Focusing on fitness levels, Newton puts his players through their paces on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30pm at Kirkham Park and invites interested players to join him.

Jets' Ben Baker looks set to be an Eagle By Sean Cunningham http://www.wollondillyadvertiser.com.au/story/1312112/jets-ben-baker-looks-set-to-be-an-eagle/?cs=1678
CAMPBELLTOWN Eagles Group 6 rugby league first grade team's bid to replace star fullback Will Dreves suffered a temporary setback last week.
A 46-year-old Group 6 Movement of Player rule, which Group 6 president Grahame Andrews said had been implemented many times throughout its existence, almost thwarted the Eagles' chances of signing former Narellan player Ben Baker to fill Dreves' boots.
But the late mail is that 23-year-old Baker will indeed pull on the red and white colours as a replacement for last season's Group 6 leading point scorer.
Andrews explained the Movement of Player rule had been in place to protect clubs.
"Our clubs supply significant energy and resources in providing opportunities for their players' development," he said.
"Players should not be allowed to club-hop to a powerhouse organisation and in doing so, weaken his current home team.
"If Narellan wished to retain Baker for the 2013 season, then Group 6 management would enforce the bye-law.
"We were hopeful Ben would remain with Narellan but unfortunately Narellan have decided to part ways with him, so ultimately, he will be released.
"The majority of Group 6 clubs acknowledge the spirit of our charter and place the overall good will of the competition in front or before the individual."
Baker was last year's Group 6 first grade's joint top try-scorer, along with Dreves.

have read so much about Ben baker on this forum over the last few months. Out of curiosity, has he played at a higher level then group 6? (genuine question, not me trying to be smart)...I dont know a great deal about his playing history and wonder why he isnt playing at a higher level. He seems to be highly regarded on here as a talented player...

Have to agree big fella. To live up to all this hype would have to score at least 30 tries this season Hes obviously a very capable footballer and there may be a very valid reason as to why he isnt playing at a higher level. Grade footy isnt for everyone.
All the hype has been as a result of people on this forum really.lol

(genuine question, not me trying to be smart)...I dont know a great deal about his playing history and wonder why he isnt playing at a higher level. He seems to be highly regarded on here as a talented player...
Have to agree big fella. To live up to all this hype would have to score at least 30 tries this season
Hes obviously a very capable footballer and there may be a very valid reason as to why he isnt playing at a higher level. Grade footy isnt for everyone. All the hype has been as a result of people on this forum really.lol
Yes he has played for East Campbelltown bundy cup side a few years back, and has played for country seconds side, he does have the talent. Even GR 6 President is giving it to the Eagles for signing up Baker going by his quote: "The majority of Group 6 clubs acknowledge the spirit of our charter and place the overall good will of the competition in front or before the individual." I guess that excludes Eagles
I'm sure there will be people out there that will say that the quote includes Narellan, but let's be fair as Narellan didn't push him out, rather he was lured over.
The Eagles must have a media ban in place ATM as no one is commenting, very out of character

He and the Eagles will benefit from his presence, but not the game breaker that this forum makes him out to be.

Barrett guides Campbelltown Roos http://www.macarthuradvertiser.com.au/story/1312107/barrett-guides-campbelltown-roos/?cs=1563Coaching role: Former star Trent Barrett. NSW State of Origin assistant coach Trent Barrett, the Country Origin head coach, will be hoping to put some bounce back into Campbelltown City Kangaroos Rugby League Football Club next week. Barrett will conduct the club's training session on Tuesday at Fullwood Reserve, Claymore. The session will start at 6.45pm. Barrett will be accompanied by NSW Origin trainer Ronnie "Cougar" Palmer, the doyen of rugby league conditioners. They will put the Roos players through their paces in preparation for their Group 6 campaign. Will be a good night for the club! Ronnie's not going to hold back either, bringing back his old Chooks shorts.
