See the group is trying to make all clubs with 18's play their 18's games on a Friday night, separate from the other senior sides. This absolutley ridiculous. Most clubs dont have an abundance of volunteers to spread across 2 days over the weekend. What about clubs that dont have sufficient lighting (i know its not many) but do they get a home in the proposed format???

The group arent even listening to the clubs. From all responses I had seen when it was first proposed only 1 club liked the idea at that was Mittagong. Why wouldnt they, they would get all home games for Highland teams until Mossy lights are upgraded.

All clubs need to make sure if they dont want it to voice their opinion. It would be a last resort but maybe boycott the games, withdraw side, drastic I know but the clubs run the group. The executive cant just make important decisions like this and ignore the majority of clubs
could be the straw that finally breaks the camels back?
This doesn't affect our club, so i won't weigh in on it, but i think management were lucky to survive after they ignored clubs and entered into the combined competition back in 2009.
Ignoring the pleas of clubs over this may see action.
The management says that they dont read this forum, but a word of advice, i would start listening to the concerns of the clubs before the phrase "NO CONFIDENCE" begins to be uttered.
I have heard some dissatisfaction at a game I attended on the weekend, not many people happy, can you fill us in more TC on what's going on?
What are you referring to?

Yeah fair call, last year is looking like a mediocre comp compared to the teams lining p this year!

If you think you red this msg wrong, I'm saying eagles won a comp against under par teams! No offence, but I also understand a wins a win BD.

Our starting line up was impressive, and I really thought our guys just got better with the introduction of Mick Cronin, Barnzy steered the ship and Crowy worked on the engines getting these guys fit, I see things headed well at our club again this year, so we will see, there is going to be some cracker games.

One thing we where very lucky with last years was our Injuries, we hardly had any at all, making our team at full strength for most the season. This year already we had Da Silva, Jerome and Sutho out in Round 1 and Dayne Craig getting injured 10 minutes into the game, winning games has a lot of keeping your number 1 players on the field, play a big part at the end of the season

A source within the Goulburn workers bulldogs has told me evergreen thirlmere forward Nathan Sutton is likely to go play at Goulburn this year.

Thirlmere will be ok (providing they keep the squad of players they had for round 1). They were pretty strong right across the park and had a couple of their better locals out. They led us for 75 minutes and we are a stronger outfit than last year.
Also, I'd be surprised if sutton played for Goulburn. I know him pretty well and have heard nothing of the sort. I really can't see him traveling that far for one thing. He was at the game in round 1 and seemed pretty content having a beer and watching. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

Foal, how good is Rory Vale?!

I played alongside him a few years ago in the 18's and played a few games with him last year... he is a freakish talent!

Yeah I'm very impressed by him. He scored 2 tries in round 1 and always looked dangerous. I first noticed him 2 years ago playing halfback for you guys against us on a freezing Saturday night. We were heavy favourites, but he was hands down best player on the field and led the tigers to the win.

We have Gallent back this week, so I think we a specials to knock off Mittagong, Gallant will be unstapable in this competition. But why should Gallant and players like Handmarsch that have played NRL want to play Group 6 Reps, they have been there done that, doesn't really make sense. Give guys an opportunity that want to make grade

I could excuse Hindmarsh for not wanting to play rep footy but a guy like Gallant, who is only 27 years old is the type of player that plays to be the best. He will play all levels to try and earn a country jersey because that's the jersey the best in the bush wear. The group would be stupid to overlook Gallant as he could help Group 6 be a real force against groups 9,10,11 and 20. Narellan will a tough team to beat due to the boys thriving off Shannon's enthusiasm.

Agreed
I'll probably cop the usual for this, but Gallant was a fringe first grader in the NRL, so no excuses not to play. BTW, not an attack on him, just the truth. (I know it's more than I'll ever achieve blah-blah)
Hindy, a man of over 300 NRL games shouldn't have to put his hand up, and probably won't have to.
Good luck if you plan thumbing your nose at the group this year

Jets honour the Crane family
http://www.camdenadvertiser.com.au/story/1403818/jets-honour-the-crane-family/?cs=1562

THE Crane family was recently honoured when the playing fields at Narellan Sportsground were named the Crane Family Rugby League Football Grounds.

Merv Crane, a founder of Group 6 rugby league club Narellan Jets, was elected the first club president in 1977 during a meeting at Narellan Hotel and his wife Iris was named president of the club's women's ancillary.

Just before the unveiling of the sign, Narellan Jets Junior Rugby League Club president John McGrath credited the Crane family for becoming involved and founding the Jets.

"The foundation of this great club and the things it has provided over the years is a real credit to the Crane family who had the resolve to make this all happen," McGrath said.

"The benefits for our local community have and will be felt for years to come.

"The Crane family is very proud of what the Jets have done in naming the field after the family and we are extremely proud to see this pioneering family given the recognition they deserve."

Since the club was established Merv and Iris have had many sons, sons-in-law, grandsons and great grandsons play for the Jets.

Merv is involved with the juniors and seniors and is also the club's gatekeeper

Any one here follow 'Bush Footy Yarns' on facebook? If not, you should really have a look: www.facebook.com/BushFootyYarns They are all about Country Rugby League in NSW.
The only problem is they pretty much concentrate on group 9 and 10 and literally never mention group 6 (which is understandable, it seems that that's where the admins are from). But, they are fast approaching 10,000 followers, so if we can get on there and 'push the Group 6 barrow' as much as possible it may be an excellent way of drumming up more interest in our comp which is benefical for all.

So, if you haven't already, check them out and even better, message them and post on their wall regular info about our great competition.
I've pasted a message of a quick preview of round 2 that I just sent them below:

Hi Guys,

The group 6 comp is in it's 2nd week this weekend.

There is a real buzz in group 6 this year with the legendary Nathan Hindmarsh (plus Scott Geddes and Ian Hindmarsh) turning out for the Moss Vale Dragons.

Results from the first round can be found here:
http://www.sportingpulse.com/comp_info.cgi?a=ROUND&compID=255627&c=0-2396-0-0-0

This weekend sees Picton Magpies take on one of the competition favourites the Oakdale Workers, a very slick outfit. This game will be broadcast live from 6pm on 100.3fm or can be streamed via 2mcr.org.au. The team at macarthur community radio are broadcasting the 'match of the round' every week this year.

In other games this week the improving Narellan Jets take on the very impressive Mittagong Lions. The lions young, skilful squad was too slick for the Mossy Dragons in round 1, and with the classy Scott Borg and Ryan Borg in the halves to guide them will be very hard to beat all year.

Campbelltown Kangaroos host Moss Vale, and are expecting a huge turn out of locals to see Hindy and the boys run around. Both sides are on the improve and it should be a good clash.

Camden Rams host The Oaks Tigers. This one's hard to pick from my perspective, both teams being a little bit of an unknown quantity at this stage.

And last years Grand Final rematch - Thirlmere Roosters host the reigning Clayton Cup holding Campbelltown Eagles. After romping through undefeated last year, the eagles appear to have come back to the bunch a little, but are still deserved favourites.

Should be a great weekend of footy.

Go the Picton Magpies!!
