I spoke to Nathan at a pub in Parra last week, he was saying Burty will play to when I spoke to him but I'm pretty sure it's just peer pressure lol because Burty said no chance and kept laughing at him.

So I little unsure will he be made to play if he didn't want to,and is it fair to other players

Lions devour Roos

MITTAGONG Lions kept the home crowd happy yesterday afternoon with a 44-16 over Campbelltown City Kangaroos at Mittagong Sportsground.

Scoring several tries in the first half, the Lions held a 38-0 lead in the second half before the Kangaroos finally managed to cross the try line.

After a dominant first half, the Lions fell off towards the back end of the game and allowed Campbelltown to get some points.

Mittagong skipper Scott Borg said it was a disappointing second 40 minutes.

"We played in the first half probably the best footy we've played. In our second half we went back to playing where were were round one and two which is disappointing but it is hard to play footy when it's 30 degrees and we're winning by 40 points. The boys started throwing the ball around too much," he said.

Despite the heat, Borg said their lapse in the second half was entirely mental.

"It's hard to get up when you're dominating a game. As much as you say let's start from 0-0 again, everyone does know the score. I think it was a mental thing but you'd think we'd be able to change our attitude after they scored a couple of tries but they got a roll on and they're a good team. We just got the better of them at the start."

"Once they get a roll on they're pretty hard to stop so they'll do some damage to other teams."

Fullback Jesse Bond was the only player to cross the try line more than once with the rest of the tries shared between the team.

Borg said while they were able to score tries well, they still struggled with their goal kicking.

Coming off the bench, Borg said Erin Blackshaw had a good game, as did Mark Delamont and Ash Browne who had "his best game in two years".

Their next match will be this Saturday night at home against Thirlmere-Tahmoor who knocked them out of the first grade finals last year and Borg said the Lions were keen to get some revenge.

Borg said the key to getting a win over them would be ball control.

" Same as our first half today, just holding the ball and completing our sets. If we hold the ball I think we're a pretty hard team to keep up with. If we drop the ball and hand the ball over and do a lot of defence, that's when teams can get us. So just ball control's our main thing we're working on."

Mittagong reserve grade also beat Campbelltown 36-30 while Mittagong green went down to Narellan 24-8.

Not necessarily. Both Hindmarshes and Geddes are 2 point players, being Mossy juniors.

Last I heard Hindy was a Robertson junior which in turn makes him 40 points and with burt and orford that's another 80..but if the old blokes wanna play good on em makes the group a bit tougher again

He definitely played juniors for both clubs, Moss Vale when the Spuddies were unable to field a team in his age group. So it comes down to which club he played the most years for. I don't know which but I'm thinking it would be Mossy.

As to the Orford and Burt rumour, I've still heard no confirmation. Yesterday was the first I heard of Orford. The story came from a player that grew up in Mossy and is still close with plenty of people down there. I don't know how much substance there is to it. But, I first heard Luke Burt's name mentioned over a week ago from a bloke who is best mates with a current eels player, and seems to know everyone, and is generally on the money regarding this stuff.

Mr Draper is on a holiday(no fleeing) in France with his wife to watch two Eagles boys play semi finals on invitation from the Cahors club. As for the Eagles word from the camp is they are back on the paddock this week at Waminda International Stadium against the Rams :winner: :winner:

Please, your obviously one of the eagles men soaring on the forum to try and backup your team since the scandalous points saga hit.

Eagles won't be doing any damage to the 2 big teams of 2013, Oakdale and Narellan. :upyours:

The only troubling easts have done so far this year is the group 6 admin lol. A shame last week was called off would have really given a good indication of where teams are at this stage of the season

Great to see the Eagles back this week. Boys are fired up ready to rip in from all reports. And Yoda I think Group 6 troubled themselves getting the points wrong. Your quick to judge without facts and always quick to knock the Eagles down. Get over it mate youve moved on so has the Eagles.
