ESA were A res div 1 in 2012, they were beaten by Penshurst in the GF who were forced up from A res div 2. Funnily enough, both sides that were forced up a grade, won the comp in their divisions ala Penshurst A res div 2 to A res div 1 and Hurstville in A res 1 to A Grade The competition will again be regraded after So many ??? rounds this year, so unless sides are just jacket hunting for a lower division comp, you will find the grading system works well. Not the best, I agree, but I assume they are giving every one as much time as possible to finalise team entries. IMO Better that than forcing an early committment from sides and having them pull out at the last minute. |

How do they grade teams for the ICCC Maverick? do they give the club the option where to go? Is it possible for a team to end up in the lowest grade, throw early games and come home smashing the competition, I ask this as I seen the GF with ESA last year and you wouldnt think it was a GF, pretty one sided. |

I have no official capacity as after 25 years at All Saints JRLFC I've retired from my involvement in the Wests JL but I did hear that the gradings and draw were being done today but it will obviously take a few days due to the Easter holidays for this information to filter thru the system. Most teams are given the grade that they nominate as the Junior League administrators involved know from the teams nomination sheet the quality of players that are registered. After 5 games, if a team's performance is better or worse than expected, then as per last year, there are re-gradings, either up or down a division and I believe it is the same this year. If a team is re-graded up a division, it usually means that team is undefeated, which would be 10 competition points, however, you only receive the same competition points as the team in 4th position on the ladder in the higher division. Last year Hurstville United were re-graded from A Reserves up to A grade and won the premiership and Penshurst RSL were re-graded up from A Reserves 1 to A Reserves and also won the premiership. So re-grading does work. |

Based in what I have heard from the all saints boys, these are where I think the west teams will end up: 1st Grade - all saints, Liverpool titans 2nd grade - all saints, Liverpool titans, Minto cobras, eagle vale 3rd grade - all saints, ingleburn RSL, ingleburn bulldogs, warriors. There is some mail around that valley are trying for two teams but I don't know any trial form so I'm not sure what they have nominated for. Apologies if I missed anyone, We should find out by Tuesday this week what the draw is. Looking forward to being a spectator this year. It should be a fairly competitive year for the wests teams. |

What do other people think about Titans and what grade they should be in? Also what happened to LCC? Minto had 40 players at training a player told me. Surely that means two teams.

Alot taking the easy option in 3rd grade, why not aim higher have a crack see how you then get regraded if need be. All Saints likely only Wests club in A grade by reports Titans are struggling and way off A grade standard. |

We should find out All the gratings and draws by Wednesday. LCC have never been really keen on A Grade teams. All saints tend to pick up the boys that want to play on past under 18s. |

The draw is up on the sporting pulse website. Teams are as follows: A grade- all saints, st Christopher's,st George dragons, berala bears, bass hill broncos, moorebank rams, Liverpool titans. A reserve 1 - penshurst RSL, mintocobras, st Christopher's, five dock RSL,renown united, all saints Liverpool, air cliffs scots, berala bears, ingleburn RSL, eaglevale A reserve 2 - Liverpool titans, valley united, leichardt wanderers, all saints Liverpool, ingleburn RSL, Campbeltown warriors, river wood legion and Campbeltown collegians. They list two ingle burn RSL teams but I think one of the is the bulldogs side but I don't know which is which. Local Derbys this week see eaglevale play irsl in a reserve 1 and titans vs valley and irsl vs warriors in div2. Should be a good weekend of footy. Edited by The Bigshow, Apr 1 2013, 01:32 PM.
