I believe the Easts Eagles have been accepted to play in the Sydney Shield 2014 can anyone confirm? Good luck to them good to see them play in a strong comp I think they outgrew Group 6 so the Sydney shield will be a good test. Well done Daniel and the committee good luck in 2014

I can confirm this Tommy and they also are looking at a RMC team, Disco Stu you're meant to be a moderator so why are you stirring the pot? Great example just shows the double standards! If you can be a moderator I'm sure I'm not far off. :upyours:

I called out the hypocrisy of the easts club stating they are " moving on " & " letting go " of the past when recent posts on their facebook page and other pages suggest otherwise. I guess with finals in full swing the hypotheticals were going to surface sooner or later.
Similar to the Group 6 cronies coming on here not happy about Mr Draper being able to still operate and get his club back to its feet after your Group did its best to bring it to its knees :finger: Easts and Mr Draper seem happy to move into a new chapter yet some of the Group cronies aren't, you and others Disco is a bit like the town bike calling the local brothel worker a whore

How did ESA go tonite
Parra How did you guys go ? Please give us good news
ESA got done not sure by how much
All Saints Year came to an end today with 40-4 loss to Penshurst. Penshurst were far to good on the day and congratulations to them on taking out the 2013 SCC A Grade Grand Final.

Titans won both the 19-2s and A Reserve 2s, congratulations to them also.
What was the wash-up from the game Maverick? Where did it go wrong?
Congratulations on a fine season but to the All Saints club, you guys did a lot of very impressive things on the field and off in 2013.

Murphy's Law went wrong. The week off, a few playing still with injuries, and although they said they did, I don't think the boys showed Penshurst the respect they deserved. Penshurst did their home work very well. They never tried to win it through their forwards and played to their other strengths. they have 2 brothers one of which was at Newcastle State Cup last year, and between them they can make you look silly. We had their number all year but had no answer on Grand Final Day. I think momentum helped also as we didn't respond to a couple of quick tries by Penshurst as we have done before. This was followed by a try that would have been disallowed in most games and then to top it off a kick downfield by Penshurst on the 5th that bounced 10 metres back towards them which they regathered and one pass later scored. Heads down and every time we put something on it just didn't come off.

Still a very successful year overall. Our 1st Grand final since 2005, We are the 1st side in the SCC to put 3 A Grade sides in. Even our R1 and R2 sides were competitive all year, we raised thousands in charity for Women in League and Aboriginal Health, we wore 4 different playing strips, We had three entries on the "Footy Show's League of their Own" winning 2 of them. (and still in the running for the major prize at the end of the year) We have been featured heavily in our local newspaper, we have our own You Tube Channel where all our games can be watched and our Facebook Page never stops with pictures, video clips and stories every day. This has resulted in many enquiries for next year already and we can only hope that 2014 will be bigger and better, and if the feedback we are getting is true it will be.

Congratulations on a fine year Mav to you and your club... I can't imagine it would be easy having to put a footy club together and then maintain it against the competing forces at Mounties and Cabra, but 3 Grades of teams and the social goodwill done around it, a big well done
Hopefully it rings true that you have to lose win to win one, next season at Saints.

Seems like you can't comment on a Wests team in a Wests thread anymore very disappointing.

I have just been told that Maverick has been banned by the Group 6 mods.
Stinks if you ask me. Mav was the only Wests mod so now the Wests forum is totally run by G6 mods. :cstars: Hardly fair is it?

It's like they don't want the Wests competition to move forward, I'm disgusted I thought this was a democracy? We need more Wests moderators like Mav! I will be taking this up with Galahs if I don't see a post by him.

This forum is too dead I wrote on the Group 6 thread about a rep match in the future between a SCC rep team and Group 6 rep team and it went crazy. What do you think guys?

It doesn't take much to excite you then if the couple of comments re a hypothetical rep match is your idea of "crazy".

The SCC is still young and growing, G6 is has been around for much longer and quality players retiring and or without a home will look at G6 as their managers will point them there. Not all clubs pay in SCC and the ones that do don't have the cash that some G6 clubs have. Give the SCC more time and let its stature become bigger and these managers maybe will start pointing players in our direction. The G6 people are correct, I don't think we have the cattle to compete against a G6 rep side at this stage.

But that may change in years to come, if we promote our product well and attract good players then this could be a thing to come sooner than later.

What I would like to see though is a playoff between the SCC comp winner and the G6 comp winner, but I think too many egos may get bruised if we were to actually win one.

It would be a match of little significance, just like the world club challenge. The better side doesn't usually win that.
Your competition has the basis for a very successful venture. I see only a few problems, the behaviour of clubs, multiple governing bodies and funding.
Overcome these and you have a very solid foundation.
