If you're so concerned with players leaving your club to go to Easts why don't you focus on your own club? Make your own club better pastrami focus on it and what you can do to make it stronger then they won't leave???

I think you have missed the point - most clubs would love to see their players progress to RMC, so its not a case of losing players to the Eagles for that reason.

My point is why would Magpies - a NSW Cup team in 2012, a RMC team in 2013 that was struggling early season - openly support a new club who is in their own backyard, drawing on the same pool of junior and experienced players? It was a simple question..... Its akin to a new Brisbane NRL club - the Broncos dont support it as they will lose their monopoly, much as Magpies have a lose monopoly on Macarthur and Group 6. Regardless that any club can draw players from anywhere there is still an expectation that players progress through a pathway from juniors to RMC, not import a team. Eagles have the juniors already in place but Magpies are basically a one team setup reliant on players coming from other clubs and having a shot.

Maybe the two can compete side by side but that is where the love will stop im guessing. Do Picton and Thirlmere love each other enough to share players, lend players or help get set up???

Hi Guys, Please read my first sentence, we have a lot to work out, but we have had a successful working relationship in the past, we will work out what's favourable for both clubs, all in good time Pastrami.

So, trying to put the jigsaw together and was wondering....East Campbelltown have submitted to play in RMC and Sydney Shield for 2014? or just Sydney Shield, and be Magpies feeder?

And if the submission is East Campbelltown Eagles JRLFC does that mean the Campbelltown Eagles, which played in Group 6, is defunct? I hear that CRL are still chasing their registration monies from Campbelltown Eagles, which was basically the insurance component and can't be waived as it is paid to an insurance company but is not a small amount... has that discussion taken place with any officials from CRL, NSWRL or Group 6?

From what I read Group 6 determined that Campbelltown Eagles and East Campbelltown were separate entities so it follows that East Campbelltown could not be responsible for any liabilities of Campbelltown Eagles.

A bit like the corporate world where liabilities lead to bankruptcy.....does that mean that the directors (in this case Executive Management) are banned from holding office or having influence in any operations of the "eagles" or rugby league entity??

Before you all start saying why am I stirring the pot I am just trying to hold the people of the previous Eagles accountable for their actions, so that they dont move from one club to another without recourse. There is a big bebt owed to CRL which means money that could be spent on rugby league development, representative teams or even on day to day costs has to be raised elsewhere, so the losers are us general rugby league folk.

To clear some facts up for you Pastrami.

The Campbelltown Eagles have closed their books with no money owing or outstanding, under the rules from the department of fair trading, in closing the books, money, assets and equipment from the Registered Incorporation Campbelltown Eagles RLFC had to be given to a charity organisation or sporting organisation, the members for the Campbelltown Eagles RLFC voted to hand over all assets and Equipment to a well administrated club East Campbelltown Eagles JRLFC.

In dissolving the company, the Campbelltown Eagles had contacted CRL about this so called rumour of outstanding registration fees, their reply was, they have not asked or even discussed that the Campbelltown Eagles RLFC will be liable for this amount, so I don't know where you are getting your incorrect information.

Another fact as I was in the meetings with CRL, Group 6 and Campbelltown Eagles, Group 6 was told by CRL, that they (Group 6) could not afford to throw an entire club out, they (Group 6) will have to sort that out with CRL.

In Summary, the Campbelltown Eagles that is now dissolved, has never been invoiced, asked or informed that they are liable for outstanding registrations.

Hi Guys, Tomorrow morning at 5am the East Campbelltown Eagles will have a team that will walk from Camden Hospital to Campbelltown Stadium to raise money for the 24 Hour Fight Against Cancer Macarthur, we will walk with another Wests Juniors Club ESA, a special thanks to our President Daniel Draper (who will also be walking) that got so many sponsors to donate money and to those sponsors, Bettacrete Concrete, Len Voss Automatics, Marshall Air, Around the Clock Pest Control and Andrew Ingram Carpentry, thank you so much guys.

Our club has announced MDS, Macarthur Disability Services as our charity sponsor, our club will hold on our a couple of our senior game days, a catered marquee for people with Disabilities to enjoy a day at the footy, fundraised for MDS and other forms to highlight the great work MDS does for our community.

And next Friday night is the Men of League Dinner and our club has bought a table to show our support for this great organisation, it would be a fantastic show of support if every club can buy a table. Hope to see you there.

Looking forward to the 21km walk tomorrow!

It would be a match of little significance, just like the world club challenge. The better side doesn't usually win that.
Your competition has the basis for a very successful venture. I see only a few problems, the behaviour of clubs, multiple governing bodies and funding.
Overcome these and you have a very solid foundation.
Which ever way you look at it the publicity would do more good than harm.

From there only good things could happen.

Regards.
Spot on Maggie, I could imagine quite a crowd turning up to Campbelltown Stadium for that. They said that NSW V Qld State of origin wouldn't work either :dunno: A Few years ago they used to do a West's Cup every year. I Remember in 2002 All Saints 18s played an Exhibition game against the Wests SG Ball Side. All Saints held them for most of the game but in the end the fitness and talent in the Wests side prevailed (but we gave them a scare)
TC may be correct in the fact it has little significance, but it would be a great promotion, and any promotion for Rugby League is good, and this would surely attract plenty of local interest from Mossvale to Liverpool and being the SCC is now covers many Sydney districts that interest could spread from local to ???????? :correct:

Mav, that West's cup is nothing really. Only ran in U/18's when there aren't enough teams and they play in another comp.

I played in it for All Saints with Tubby, Alvaro, DeGois when we were 18 against ESA.

We ended up losing in Extra Time due to the missed goal kicks. (unfortunately I was the kicker that day)

Pretty sure that All Saints side played in the Canterbury comp, and wasn't that the SG Ball side that won the comp with a fair few All Saints boys in it.

You are correct. The SG Ball side All Saints played against in the Wests cup contained some of our ex players in it. I remember De Gois playing, but can't recall if Fulton or Gibbs played ? We did play in the Canterbury Comp (as All Saints) for the first time that year coming up against some monsters like Jarrod Hickey who played for St Christophers. That was 2002, which was the year Wests did last win the SG Ball. It was played as an "Exhibition" game, and as I said for quite some time we gave them a scare. It was only at the very end they ran away with it. That was also the year that Gibbs broke Kane Cleal's jaw in a high tackle, so Gibbs may have been suspended

The Eagles had a great night at the Men of League function held on Friday night, a special thanks to our President Daniel Draper for organising our group, we really cleaned up on the memorabilia with all proceeds going to the Men of League Foundation, looking forward to our Men of League round where we look to organise a huge day.

Congratulations to our award winners last night at the Wests Juniors Presentation, we all had another great night

Didn't get there either, but the photos look good.

Also All Saints Club President, Rocco Perre, got the Wests Club person of the year.

Well done Rocco
