Will the Titans be rocking up to the Group 6 AGM next Monday to try and seek affiliation.
what's your strategic plan??
No the Titans will not be attending the GROUP 6 meeting there playing in the icc comp..

With the board to vote at the AGM for a new pres/ the people on the board now have reason to change to G6
I hear that the boys will be training in the last week of november ,knowing there trainer jim who is a fitness nut the boys will be fit once again to start the year..

A club that has been around for 40 odd years will be pulling up stumps, Ashcroft will fold as a couple of Life servents of the club will be walking away from the game forever. The Rumour has it that all the clubs tackling bags, line markers, pie oven etc, has been sold to Glenmore Park RLFC, so why is there no attempt in keeping this club going?
Although a massive loss that Ashcroft is (they produced Brad Fittler) you can't blame the Titans for them falling over, if anything there biggest threat would be either Mounties, All Saints or Valley and as you have mentioned the junior numbers at those clubs it must be Mounties. There have been a few teams fall over in the same area from when I was a kid.

I can think of 3 off the top of my head, only 2 names though I'm sure other forum members could help me out:
- Macquarie Cobras
- Liverpool City (All Saints moved to Hillier from Warwick Farm when they folded)
- Can't think of their name but played out of Amalfi in Lurnea well before Hinchinbrook (are they still going?) were created.

I'm sure there is at least 2 - 3 more over the years that have folded in the Liverpool area that were long gone before I picked up a ball (Any ideas people?).

Liverpool Catholic Club has never really taken the jump in Seniors properly but remember playing them as a kid, you would think if they got serious they would wipe more clubs in the area as well.

So is it true Darcy was forced out of his position for sending an apllication to play in Group 6? so what is your board saying Group 6 or ICCC? I feel that you should go with the Group 6 option, we will all support you.

I can remember Amalfi being the home ground of 'Liverpool Catholic Club United', or LCCU as they were, before they dropped the United part!
Busby played at EG Whitlam No.4. I witnessed one of the worst things at footy there one day in 1984- a pigdog fight with punters gambling on it, and the fight ending with punters hitting the dogs with longnecks to open the lockjaw of the victor. After being introduced to Rugby League via the civilised nature of Group 6, it was clearly apparent that things had taken a sharp downturn for the Kangaroo football club after being forced into the 6 team Newtown- Campbelltown A Grade.
Dad wrote a big article for the Advertiser slamming the Busby club and the lack of an enclosed field. The Busby officials came into the Advertiser offices looking to punch on with him.
Busby were basically a senior club and a few years later, the Junior League mandated the 4 junior team minimum rule. 1988 was Busby's last season & in 1989 they became 'Buscroft' until all the players filtered out. I think they played in Busby colours (maroon & blue :dunno: ) under the Ashcroft banner for a few years after.

Dan and Brownie......Its extremely obvious that life member has a personal issue with you guys, but after talking to to many, not many people give his comments much credibility. Any comments derogatory will be either edited or deleted, but I cant be online all the time. It is free speech for all but some people on here are very good at drawing a very fine line. I can only try to monitor this but its sometimes difficult to decide what is free speech and what is deemed to be defaming people or clubs. As what would seem fair to one may be offensive to another.

I must ask everybody to try and not be defamatory to anybody as if someone gets too upset and goes for legal help, the forum may be shut down altogether as it was once before. If that was to happen how would we get the little information we do get, out to all concerned.

Never played Sadlier, Busby, Dalmeny, Woodlands must not have had teams in my age group in the '80's

Austral have reformed a footy side of sorts, they are now the Bears and play in a Saturday Catholic comp in the Parra district. Good catchment area between Oran Park and Warragamba for either Wests or Group 6. :correct:

I Played for the Poolers, the mighty Lions, yes Liverpool City. I have a sour taste in my mouth from what happened to that great club. I can't understand where it all went wrong. We had everything and know its just a memory for us older baby boomers, why has so many clubs that had been around for years just folded? why hasnt the Wests Juniors sent in their own staff to keep clubs alive, every ground you lose could end up in the hands of AFL or Soccer, has anything been done about Ashcroft? who has the right to disband a club without people attampting to keep it around, Soccer will love to get hold of Stanwell Park.
