This is just for a bit of fun, get us in the Mood for the 2013 season. What is the greatest Group 6 Grand Final you have seen.
It could have been last years smashing of Thirlmere by the Eagles, or it can go way back to the 50's. Let us know. Would love to hear the stories.

90s tossed up some corkers: 1991 undefeated Mittagong going for the Clayton Cup at Victoria Park, holding off Oakdale 10-6. 1995 Ian Handley sideline conversion denies Narellan their first premiership, Mittagong win 12-11 1997 Picton leading Camden 20-4 with about 25 minutes to go and a Peter Gentle inspired comeback sees the Rams win 27-21 after Extra Time.
I'd have to go with 1997 as the best I've seen. Thirlmere beating Oakdale 19-16 in 2001 was a bottler as well.

2009 the first 10 minutes was some of the toughest footy i have seen with big hits and the two brawls.

2009 the first 10 minutes was some of the toughest footy i have seen with big hits and the two brawls. Probably not the greatest. But you're right that 09 gf was pretty full on. off memory there was a fight in the first tackle. classic.

I can't help but be biased, I guess I just remember grand finals featuring Picton the most:
96-97-98 Picton lost to Camden in extra time grand finals 3 years in a row. 96 & 98 in reserve grade. 97 being that 1st grade cracker already mentioned. Having played in 97 I can't recall many details from the game, but I do remember thinking afterwards how fast it went by. No doubt the highest quality game I've been a part of.
Thankfully, we got one back on the rams in 05. A 2nd half comeback of around 20 points. That one sticks in my mind as one of the best things I've ever witnessed in rugby league (obviously biased), but seriously it was just amazing. Besides the football itself the crowd was amazing. I've never heard noise or felt a buzz like it at local footy. You can see highlights of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaPkmNxG58s
09 also, a cracker. As TC said a boil over. We finished as minor premiers. Then got smacked by the roosters in the major semi, which caused pretty much everyone (especially Thirlmere) to write us off. That punch up off the kick off went something like this: Bryce Hoskin (Picton) knocks on from kick on. Shane Martin (Thirlmere) runs over, gives him a gob full and a head rub. Chris Bowers (Picton) takes exception, throws Martin away like a rag doll. Bryce Jensen (Thirlmere) takes exception, runs over and shoves Bowers. Bowers puts a clean one on his chin. Lee Fauvea (Thirlmere) takes exception, he and Bowers exchange further blows. Everyone runs in. Brilliant. Every GF should start that way!! Another punch up between Kiel Shephard and Nathan Sutton about 15 minutes later helped relations simmer away nicely. Thankfully the good guys won!!
06, although awful conditions at Mittagong, 2 good close games. We got done in extra time in reserve grade. And then the roosters got us again in 1sts with Robbie Mears scoring the only try with about a minute to go. Kenny Catford missed the tackle on him, but did his best to make up for it by catching a taxi to Thirlmere Pub to tackle him on Mad Monday. Unfortunately Mears had left hours earlier!!
2010 was a good close game, but was a bit ruined by the awful atmosphere of a relatively small crowd in Campbelltown stadium. Bugger all in it except for Willie McDonald barging over to get the win for Moss Vale over us.
2011 was a good game, but again an ordinary atmosphere. Ever since the group banned cars in the venue it has really done a poor thing for the atmosphere on grand final. Nowadays a decent grand final crowd looks tiny beacuse it is so spread out without the vehicles in there. No car horns honking when teams run out or score either. Grand Finals days just aren't what they used to be. Until recently it was a day you couldn't wait for, even if your team wasn't playing. These days, not so much. It's really lost it's magic.

The 09 Grand Final was a classic. I agree with you Foal, when you say every grand final should start off that way. It would make the game so much more interesting. Bryce Hoskin ended up leaving Picton after that and went to the Oaks? 06 Grand Final day was good, i played in the 18's grand final against Goulburn and the amount of Mud on the field was amazing.
But the 07 grand final day was the best of my playing career so far, Home crowd at Thirlmere, I was playing Reserves that day, and we had not been favourites all week against Goulburn and ended up coming out and winning it. I scored a try, scooted the ball from dummy half and ran 30m to score, I just remember Woodo,Scotty Keane and rest of the boys jumping all over me. Big Morgan Knott sealing the win with a try beside the post. That was the greatest day. And then the First grade squad lost but partied hard for a few days afterwards.

Yeah Bryce went to the Oaks in '10, back to us in '11, and then to Camden last year. Yeah 07 reggies was a massive boil over. We played both you and Goulburn 3 times. A win each and a draw against you, but Goulburn got us by plenty in all 3. I thought they'd dust you in the big game. 07 18s was also a great game. I can't remember the score but it was really high quality. Our guys tackled their arses off and never looked like cracking to get over Camden in a tight one.

Played in that team for half the year but heart just wasn't into the game as much (mainly to it being the first time I played without my mates.)
Watched that 07 reggies grand final too. Only remember Morgs try right at the death to seal it. Was spewing that I stopped playing.
Be a bit bias but last years reggies GF was pretty good. (Actually the quality of the whole company was up on previous years).
Scored our first try then had 2 disallowed for forward passes.
We got out to a nice lead but Camden finished strongly. Would have won aswell if the 5/8th caught the pass. Had a clear run under the posts.
Not going to lie I let out a massive sigh of relief because I knocked on which led to one try then for some stupid reason went for an intercept and let in another.
The jubilation when the siren went was indescribable. We weren't expected to win this one as Camden had been the best side all year.
2011 GF was a huge relief for most of our boys after the previous 2 gfs. (Although I'm still filthy for being sin binned with 15 to go because they wouldn't put me back on)

Was the first time the sides played for the BJ Pendergast shield (I think that's what it's called.)
Ended up being a 10 all draw.
