Hey All, I have been a long term lurker of this site, and just yesterday signed up. My first post was deleted so I must have posted a no-no and for that I apologize. I have seen on here that there are a number of members who are "high up" in relation to their respective junior rugby league clubs and I was wanting to ask a question - not being nosey but just curious. Since the Global Financial Crisis we are all aware that businesses and companies needed to tighten their belts in relation to the money they outlined on marketing, and sponsorship. I was wondering how Junior Rugby League teams in the region coped with the downturn in Sponsorship. I know many of you are on long term sponsorships with your current sponsors but were they affected in anyway with the GFC? And seem the globe is slowly recovering from it are you actively seeking new sponsors? Are your current ones stepping up and offering more input financially? I have seen some clubs from different regions ask for amounts such as 33k pa for their sponsorship what does your team ask for (or a ball park figure) and what are you able to offer your sponsors in return. I know that many hire grounds from the council and therefore you are sort of limited to what you can offer in terms as on the ground/buildings. Sorry I am just new to this whole discussion format and am curious as to how it all works for each club. I'd think one of the big things would be to offer advertising on a website, however looking at leaguenet many club sites aren't updated - have you all moved elsewhere? Truly sorry for the questions as I said am very new to this discussion board, and actually being on a board that isn't just talking about the NRL etc and so am very curious into all of this type of thing. I also ask because allot of companies claim they support grass roots football etc and this is grassroots and want to know if they actually live up to it or just like to claim they do. Thank you in advance to anyone who replies. |
