Did I hear right that 2 clubs signed fullbacks?
Narellan sign Will Dreves? Where does Baker play?
Picton signed Don Thompson? Does Letty move to the centres? In saying that, Pictons backs are super fast, Letty, Rory, nick Taylor.

I can confirm that Don Thompson is with Picton. I'm not on the inside as far as positions go, but the general assumption getting around is that, yes, Letty will move to the centres. I haven't seen Don play, but he comes with huge wraps. I was at training last night and he sure looks the goods. You're right about the speed out wide. I haven't seen that many genuine speedsters there since, maybe ever. The other thing it does is push Blake Matthews back to the forwards which gives us added depth there.

As for Drevesy, good luck to him, that's a good signing for Narellan if it's true. He did speak with Picton at one stage. I don't know what actually came of it, but my own opinion is, having already signed Donny it would've been hard to afford Will, in terms of both cash and points. He's a quality player and bloke and will do well at the Jets.

U would think either dreves or baker will play in the halves and the other at fullback although there both at there best when playing fullback nice headache for the coach

Haven't heard too much actually. Haven't been to the pub for a while so I can't help you. I'm hearing Joel clout (better known as Kramer is playing again).

Put original comment in here last year and dont think much changed my mind on where Appin would be again. Paul Jarvis was actually named as the reserve grade coach at Appin last year and now he has gone elsewhere. This will be a monumental uphill task for those at the helm at Appin, I'll say again dont think it will happen unfortunately.
This all gets back to group 6 administration, and there desire to push smaller clubs too a point where they break. Appin, Macarthur Bulls etc . The group just needs to handle who plays where and to keep the small clubs honest in who they actually allow to register in those lower division teams. When ex Nrl, state cup or first grade players are cleared to play for a second division team in the first place, other clubs start whingeing about it but all in all the group cant cry foul
as they where the ones to approve the bloody player in the first place. All comps need players and whatever level the group should encourage numbers to stay. They dont mind taking the money from the players to pay themselves, do they.

 Original post from 2013 Group 6 thread posted 3/10/2013
The Group 6 post-season forum will take place on October 13 from 10am to 2pm at Bargo Sports Club. Group 6 referees, presidents, secretaries and Group 6 management will review the season and approve the 2014 senior calendar. The 2013 Group 6 Junior Rugby League equivalent will take be 10am-2pm on October 19 at Picton Bowling Club.
I note that the Appin club is sending 3 representatives to the forum- fair to say Wonson Park will be seeing 1st Grade Rugby League next season, first time since 1996?
The Appin club have sent representatives to the forums every year, I believe 2 were there last year.
Their was plenty of talking about what can be, but they fell extremely short of ever getting there. Unless a lot has changed since last year, even with the gossip about thirlmere players and coach alike going to Appin, I'll be extremely surprised whether they can get the sponsorship needed to go to 1st grade etc. A running committee is needed, in which Appin have never had.
There has also been talk about debono from collies rallying to bring teams to Appin but only if certain persons are not there.
I hope for the club they can really put something together, but more than likely, will have to be satisfied with 2nd's and 18's for the moment and group 6 will just have to support that, unlike a couple of years ago when they pushed Appin to oblivion of non competition by forcing them out of 2nd's, saying they must move to 1st grade 2012, in which didn't happen.
Small clubs like Appin must be in the competition and if it means 2nd's for a while the group and other clubs should support that.
Partial, I'd agree & reiterate my opinion on this that Appin 92-96 were great for G6, but were really a Campbelltown team in disguise. Appin had no player base and contributed no home grown products to that club. It's all easy to say De Bono this, Collies that... But the fact is we are talking kids here, not established 1st Grade talent like a Ben Isaia, Adam 'Roycey' Webster or Butch Keys that went there in 1992 & underpinned Appin. They were simply a Campbelltown Warriors senior club playing very successfully at Appin, after they'd conquered the WSDJRL A Grade between 1988- 91.

Campbelltown is an elderly area now, nowhere near as League fanatical anymore as when Bill Bowling, a great local Rugby League man, took U/18s, Reserve Grade & 1st Grade there in 1992.
There aren't any senior teams in Campbelltown, like the Campbelltown Warriors were in 91-92, where an entire 3 grade club can just transfer across to Appin.

With the housing developments though, Appin will soon be joined to Campbelltown and it's imperative that League continues in what will be Wollondilly's first urban area. They will eventually get a 1st Grade team. Should 1st Grade be beyond them in 2014, they must be allowed to make a highly competitive 2nd Division & U/18 team.
Well looks like the monumental uphill task for helm at app in seems under way strong rumours they will be competitive, perhaps another option for players wanting to play grade bait closer to campbelltown. How are the Roos looking ?

It has also been reported that he has signed with his junior club Casino Cougars for this season. Unless he is doing what David Peachey was allowed to do and play for multiple teams in the areas he travelled in as part of his CRL employment.

Would be good to get clarification on this, would love to see any ex NRL players running around in Group 6, the more the merrier. :correct:

Would be good for the Group. Don't be surprised though if ex- Canberra/ St George hooker Wayne 'Snoopy' Collins, current Souths Assistant Coach & Harrington Grove resident, has organised this ruse...

We're looking pretty good footydad. I like our forward pack. Manu and co. will put the fear of God in a few. We've signed two really good halves to compliment Corey Walpole at 6. OBs lack the try scoring class Picton have, but as you know I'd rather a forward pack than a backline, as City showed the Collies in 1983.

Our forward pack will be pretty handy just quietly Orana! But, you make a good point, gotta have the troops up front. Good to hear you guys have bolstered your ranks. In fact it looks like lots of clubs have. Good times ahead I think.

They all left last year SKD, are training uninsured of hope of sydney shield the lesser players who the club care zero for id assume would stay at Group 6 clubs as they did last year. Appin had a big junk of the 18s from Eagles id tip theyll step up to fill Appins reserve grade. The Oaks took in a few last season also who have returned to the Oaks and will never return after being dudded by eagles management.

Shame for Carlton league is down to 6 teams this year and could have used them. Would have been good to see them play Collies and Wests

Group 7 would be to far to travel i couldnt see Milton ulladulla or Batemans Bay driving to Ctown!
