How are narellan going to keep under there points cap??
That's the $100 question around the Group at the moment. Can Jetter list their confirmed signings?
Hopkins and Baker are the two highest profile names on the Jets 2014 FB players group. Hearing a whisper that another former Easts fullback WAS headed there... Matt Kings playing in the round 1 game but he's also been announced as a signing at Casino Cougars and has taken up a coaching position with Souths NYC so you would imagine it wouldn't be an ongoing arrangement. Over to you Jetter? What I am hearing from my end is that Rodney Merritt and Michael Stolk have left our club to play at The jets. If this is true there is no chance they are under the points. Especially if they maintain a lot of the roster from last year.

Hey guys, sorry for the late reply. I have just been in a 4 day strategy conference with Jets power brokers working on our Eagles-like response to the diabolical points situation, which will require us shedding some players to fit in.
Seriously, any questions whether Jets were over the points last year clearly has the doubters mistrusting the Group 6 General Committee who had the chance to view and review all the players history. Picton had more NRL/NYC experienced players but I haven't seen any questions asked about the Premiers....
For the record Gallant and Bonnell have moved onwards and upwards to Cabramatta/Newtown and collegians in Illawarra comp respectively. There's two 40 point players gone already!
Coming in is Baker, Hopkins, Stolk, Merritt, the two graham brothers and King. Dunley was coming but as he and Gallant are good mates he decided against seeing Shannon wasn't running around. No Dreves, no Crocker or other NRL stars. King at Casino is a one off for them so hopefully he plays for the Jets more than just once.
Who knows, we may get Hazo from Oakdale as he has apparently quit. Any confirmation TC.???

Why would they leave? Can hazard a good guess... Good to see Allan McGrath selected in Tigers Trial team that is travelling to Alice Springs on Saturday night.

How's the 2nd Division clubs shaping up? I've heard Oakdale reserve grade premiership winning c/c Mark Georgiades gone to Warragamba to help them rebuild, taken a few with him? Any 1st Division clubs still going through with plans to field all 3 grades?

I haven't heard of any new signings but Not many first graders are showing up to training which probably tells me the lib hasn't been able to sign many at this stage.

I see Picton's points finally got a mention here. Good deflection Jetter! But seriously, I'm surprised it took this long for us to be mentioned!! I'm not on the committee this year, but here's what I know (correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't studied the new points system at length):
Chris Young comes down to 2 points since this is his 4th season at the club. Tim Dengate and Blake Matthews come down to the new Toyota Cup rate (20 points? 25? can't remember) down from 40. There's a saving of 70-80 points.
The additions to the club: Don Thompson comes from Jim Beam cup - 15 points. Les Thompson, not sure, but no more than 15 points. Tenisio Ahovelo, Ron Massey cup, I don't know - 15 points??
Even if my ratings are wrong, we're looking at a maximum of 45-60 points added, compared to 70-80 removed.

Will dreves not at Picton? or not yet?? Taylor is a junior so only 2 points or 0, but is he returning or off gold mining in Queensland?
Jets better be careful they dont sign too many and then have them fly the coup, or leave the hangar in 2015.... i heard they have signed ex Moss Vale and Italian rep Rhys Lennarduzzi, who is a bit of a live wire.

I'm talking about changes in our points quota. Michael Lett? He was at the club last year. Maybe you heard? He was 40 points then, he is 40 now. No change. Will Dreves, as I've said before, the club spoke with him before Christmas. My understanding is, as much as we'd love to have him, with Thompson and Letty already signed the club could not afford another top line fullback in terms of cash or points. Nick Taylor has signed, along with all but one or two from last years squad who've moved/will be away.

I heard that there are a few teams struggling for numbers. TC has openly said the Workers are looking for players for reggis, but I also heard that Thirlmere and Appin are struggling to field both grade sides. Any truth to those stories?
Also a side like the Dragons could play unattached regis instead of 2nd div if the draw allows??
Is that whats happening?

Seems to be a bit of a dip happening at the moment in the Group's player cycle, possibly similar to what occurred in 2008. One generation retires & there is a transition year in which a few clubs struggle. Unattached reggies has worked before in 60s & 70s. First Grade does take precedence, but the survival of Rugby League in the conpetition's towns and villages takes precedence above that.
