I believe Kyle Weh has signed with Appin, it was on the group 6 Facebook site when they announced the all stars teams

I believe Rohan played for The Oaks after the Eagles folded, I think he is back there this year.

Great to hear that oakdale are still striving for a first grade. Might upset a few of the poachers who have bagged a number of their players and now have to wait and see if they actually get them. Especially as it may have impacted on their ability to poach other players to the club with the points system in mind. Although jets are obviously exempt from abiding by the points system.

Great news hope to see them up and running ASAP seems to me the points system is waste of time if certain clubs are getting away with clearly being well over .. Will be interesting to see how some of the teams in this weeks trials shape up early tip.. G6 all stars 40 indigenous all stars 22 close early on late run away from all stars

The points system takes effect when a club takes the field not by how many players they have on the books. As long as they stay under each week or rnd it doesn't matter how many players a club has .

Interesting to see what happens now. There'll be a max. 8 team 1st Grade draw- surely the competition start date will now be pushed back to allow for the 14 games that this number of home & away permits.
I heard a number of 76 at Appin training last week, inclusive of U/18s??

I dought very much these players sighned from other clubs to sit out games to keep them under the points disco stu aslong as the group stay on top of it and the rules are inforced then goodluck to them. Good news for appin will be interesting to see how much there numbers suffer from oakdale being back up and running

As far as I'm concerned the players that have left to go to Appin are gone, they would rather miss the year than have an up and down season..........
Their fate is in the groups hands now and I doubt you would have first graders sitting out just so they can keep under the points.
We are still a long way off being up and running, WE NEED PLAYERS, any help will be much appreciated.

Yes I agree you don't sign players to sit them out.

Fate? I'm sure the group would rather the 5 regular first graders that have gone to appin playing in the comp at appin than not at all at the moment.
Everyone's banging on about Appin poaching players. Didnt 4 players go to Camden? How come Camden fly under the radar? I bet if Dane wooden coached Camden it would be Camden that was on this forum. Fact is players were not poached the players contacted woodo and left so they could still play together in the same club.

:finger: are you with Thirlmere? I'm not sure what you are insinuating but the Jets are under the maximum points and did so last year too. Just because you guys went over and other clubs got fined or had competition points deducted just proves we can manage the system.

btw, I don't know where that came from, but the players that left, they are gone. I'm done with it, don't know about other people, but I'm definitely finished with that.
Sorry if Dane is the victim in this case.

If oakdale don't have numbers by now they won't get a first grade team this year, it's wishful thinking. I doubt they will have enough players to field a 9s team for next week end. Orana87 I'm hearing the comp will still start on the 23rd march and addional byes will make up for teams dropping out.
I believe Appin have started to get good numbers to training and heard things are rolling in a good direction. I'm also hearing that they still recruiting if anyone is interested.

you're correct, it is wishful thinking.
But the old heads won't allow it to go down without a fight, and nor they should.
It's a pretty proud club.

the oaks will trouble all teams this year with razzle dazzle style play. Good young backs, brazzo boys etc appin will be strong but will lack the depth of say a picton, narellan, mitta so won't have the goods to go all the way. Picton v narellan grand final early prediction pictons back line will be second to none especially with the inclusion of thompson.narellans pack will be second to none with the inclusions of Hopkins stolk Merritt and Cameron graham

The oaks will need to be much more consitant and lack depth but will be big improvers narellan Picton I agree early favs mitta city close behind the rest fighting for that 5th spot.

I think Picton are as strong in there pack as they are in the back line and should be heavy favorites this year.
