Pastrami- can't understand why u would think Appin would be struggling to keep under the points cap? Cockpit- I gather they don't deliver the paper to Thirlmere. News Flash trotter in trouble !!
Trotters in trouble Sunday paper. Refused bail!!
Sorry mate that I'm not up with all the breaking news. I'm clearly not doing as much reading as you on group 6. I think it was trent trotter anyway.

I think it was trent trotter anyway. Yeah well I know Trent trotter has been in hot water with footy and is banned for 6 months. But I have only ever said that we have signed James. But if he is also in trouble then I haven't heard about it yet.

Point systems achieving nothing considering there are teams clearly over no point having it..bad news for roosters . I dnt see appin being close to being over the points at all considering the blokes they got from thirlmere came from appin to begin with besides Flanagan all 2 point players and oakdale folding would mean the blokes coming from there 10 points wouldn't it or less ?? They have half the roster jets do so of jets are sweet I can't see anyone being close at all not even Picton ha ha Copy and paste from last time Picton's points were questioned:
Chris Young comes down to 2 points since this is his 4th season at the club. Tim Dengate and Blake Matthews come down to the new Toyota Cup rate (20 points? 25? can't remember) down from 40. There's a saving of 70-80 points.
The additions to the club: Don Thompson comes from Jim Beam cup - 15 points. Les Thompson, not sure, but no more than 15 points. Tenisio Ahovelo, Ron Massey cup, I don't know - 15 points??
Even if my ratings are wrong, we're looking at a maximum of 45-60 points added, compared to 70-80 removed.

Thanks Orana, That makes it 68 points removed, 50 added. I think everyone is trying to say the only other team who has a roster as good as what the jets have signed is Picton. But foal at least you guys have a large number of juniors to allow for your buys. The jets have got a Reggie's team and a first grade team full of imports. And they try to claim anyone and everyone as a local junior. Or somehow are rewarded with reductions on points by the group on certain players.
SKD - I don't have any further information at this stage other then what I have already posted.

Oakdale haven't folded so those points will not be at a concession. I've had 7 requests for clearance, plus I'd say fellows and milat are both at appin too Before anyone gets upset, I'm only pointing this out as this is the knowledge I have. Is Oakdale clearing the first grade players seeking releases given they can't play reserves at Oakdale?

Orana87 is Campbelltown City fielding all grades this year as I believe they have pulled out of the 9s comp.

Orana87 is Campbelltown City fielding all grades this year as I believe they have pulled out of the 9s comp. Issues surrounding the 18s team.. Unlikely at this stage. Any coaches out there with a band of 'untagged' U/17/U/18 players are welcome to make approach to the club and will slot straight in at the moment.
1sts & Reserves are locked in, plenty of numbers and new coach Paul Matthews recruitment drive has snared some top-line talent.

We could have fielded at the very least a first grade, but when the exodus occurred we were hamstrung. I don't think there'll be any concessions on former Oakdale players, as there were options available. This is no shot at the players, but some players don't want to struggle for a year and rebuild, they want to be in a good team always.

How many players would you be able to field if they are the full 25 freight? Matt McCauley 25 Kyle Weh 25 Tom moon 25 Bart masters 25 Josh Cullen 25 Danny Gallagher 25 Glynn Bester 25 175 points in 7 players. Plus others.

Josh Cullen 25 Danny Gallagher 25
These two will be at 15 points, having played <15 first grade games. However, the Thirlmere connection will be interesting re points allocation. Will the Group agree that Appin 2nd div players 2008-11 are 2 pointers or not? In the interests of having another 1st Grade team, our competition almost needs them to. Takawai at 25 points too from Narellan.

It's all good. I'm just interested to see how people are going to work it. From the outside it will be good reading. Cullen is a junior rep, so his points carry

With the teams The jets and Picton have it would be in the groups best interest to work with appin on the points to ensure a quality side take the field and not a side that will be a push over week in and week out. If people dig there heals into the ground on this then it's the already struggling group that will pay the price in the long run. The team appin will field is by no stretch at top 3 side with all players available and would only strengthen the competition by having more competitive games. I think everyone needs to keep that in mind and leave the personal stuff out of this or it will be an anchor on the future of this competition. Imagine if you could talk footy on this forum instead of points and politics.
