For what it's worth TC, Orana and Foal are the only blokes I take notice of on here. Generally rock solid with their information about their own and generally other clubs. Add me to the list of blokes with no idea! Credit where credits due. City out on the forum and Facebook with first and reserve grade sides. Foal has done the best he can for Picton, would be nice to see other clubs come to the party! And foal, Nick Taylor in Reggie's? What's the story there? And there must be a story if you see it that way, he seemed really switched on last year and at his best. Outshone Letty in parts of the GF |

City program blurb for Round 1 for those who can't make Sunday at 'The Fortress': CRL Group 6 Round 1 Campbelltown City Kangaroos RLFC vs Appin Dogs RLFC The Campbelltown City Kangaroos RLFC would like to extend a warm welcome to Appin Dogs RLFC and Moss Vale Dragons RLFC players, officials and supporters for today’s Round 1 clash, our first home game for the 2014 season. Today marks the first occasion in which a Kangaroos 1st Grade team will clash with an Appin 1st Grade team. Appin re-enters 1st Grade today following an 18 year hiatus from the top grade. Appin Warriors, born out of the successful Campbelltown Warriors A Grade teams of the late 80s & early 90s (Wests JL), fielded very strong 1st Grade teams in the Group 6 competition between 1992-96, even finishing runners up in 1994 to Camden. It is great to see our code flourishing again in the village, and good luck to the Appin boys for the rest of the season. Well, for the Kangaroos it has been a tumultuous off-season. The retirement of Drew Dalton saw ex- Ryde Eastwood legend Paul Jarvis, ironically poached from Appin, to be 1st Grade coach of the City club. ‘Jarvo’ had begun to lay some impressive foundations at the club and his tenure was going to clearly be successful. We were all shocked to hear that this fine man was taken far too early in life, on Australia Day 2014. RIP Jarvo 1969- 2014. The unfortunate demise of the Oakdale 1st Grade team saw us secure Paul Matthews as 1st Grade coach mid-way through February. Paul has worked feverishly to put a competitive team together and the boys will give a good account of themselves today against a strong Appin outfit. Reserve Grade also saw off-season changes with popular prop Clay Harding taking over the reins from Gary Syron. Clay has inherited a very talented squad and will look to be pushing late into September with his team. The ‘Roos has also successfully raised a 2nd Division team for the 2014 campaign- the first time we have entered this grade since 2011. The boys have a very good team and are looking forward to the comp starting in a few weeks. The team will be dedicating the season to our beloved former 3rd Grade manager, Kellie Manihera, who passed away in 2013. RIP Kell. Win, lose or draw, come join us at the Centre Court Tavern Campbelltown for the game day presentations from 5.30pm, with happy hour being 6pm- 7pm. The Court Tavern has been the home of the ‘Roos since 1922, and under the watchful eye of Mein Host Freddy Holovinsky, is the best cold pour in town. Upcoming Fixtures & Events: Sunday March 30th: Reserve Grade Only Warragamba Wombats RLFC vs Campbelltown City Kangaroos RLFC Warragamba Sportsground (1st Grade has the Bye… 2nd Division Trial vs Picton, Victoria Park 4.30pm Saturday March 29th) Sunday April 6th Campbelltown City Kangaroos RLFC vs Mittagong Lions RLFC Fortress Fullwood Reserve Edited by Orana87, Mar 21 2014, 01:15 PM.

What's Narellans team tomorrow night, I've herd Camden's team, Pes is on the bench (but has been on his honeymoon), Conlon is out with a Broken Thumb, didn't hear about the very underrated Locky Gray, Crouch in centres. No Wisbey either. |

Yeah, don't read too much into that Taco, I doubt he'll be there long. He's been overseas for most of the pre-season and only showed last week, so was told he will have to start in Reggie's. To his credit his attitude has been excellent. I agree with your rating of his GF performance. Especially in that first half, I thought he was our best in the opening 40. |

Credit where credit is due. I was very vocal earlier in the week in my belief of the shortcomings across the group, but 5 of the 6 FG sides named in an online program is a huge step forward. Long may it continue - Group 6 Team List Friday has a nice ring too it! Ironically I was most interested in the Thirlmere lineup, as they've had the most question marks against them this off season. Looking forward to a great opening week. Picton, Narellan and a City/Appin draw are my tips!

It's a good program. Maybe Steve can make room for our blurbs also. There's no excuse for clubs not to have this team in by Thursday 9pm. Well done to Steve, and I think this program can now only go from strength to strength. |

If any of you are interested I wrote a bit if a round 1 and season preview and put it on the 'Bush Footy Yarns' Facebook page. The link is below. For any of you unfamiliar with the page, they have over 11,000 followers, but most of the content posted relates to group 9, group 10 and areas as that's where the admin is from, so I'm trying to get a bit more interest in group 6 out there. If you haven't already, like the page and try to get some group 6 related content going: https://www.facebook.com/BushFootyYarns/posts/612844508808295 Edited by foal, Mar 22 2014, 11:56 AM.

was at the game and yes Merritt sent for back chat. seen him done for the sane thing a few times last year playing for the roosters, short temper. as for the game very physical encounter played tough in the middle. I thought if narellan could have got king and Merritt some ball they would have got a score on the rams. Both starved at times. but Camden looking quit the improved outfit of 2014 with a tough pack lead by cashmere. Just not enough to get over a physical narellan outfit fronted by pakki in defence and seasoning like Trimarchi. Anyone else got thoughts on the game?? |
