Boys put in a very spirited performance today against Narellan, 12-all at halftime with the score blowing out Narellan scoring 3 tries in the last 5 minutes to blow the score out. But a strong start for our new coaches Brian and Chris, and one from which they can now build.

It was also good to see our sacked coach Paul Matthews there. Paul was there trying to poach a few more of our players. Paul must have taken comfort from the fact that he could see we now have coaches who know what they are doing, know how to speak properly to players, and take it from me, at least training sessions are now structured and techniques being coached and corrected... all without a mobile phone in hand too! Oh... and we have coaches who enjoy a beer and support sponsors.
Unfortunately 3 players have chosen to believe Paul's spin that there is something for them at Guildford RMC, including G6 rep Corey Walpole. We can confirm that the CRL and Group 6 will be backing us to the hilt- basically by registering yourself into the NRL national database with a club constitutes a contract.. not to mention signing on for games, let alone handshake deals.
PM did exactly the same at Moss Vale a few years ago and was sacked, spoke to players like they where rubbish unless you were in his select few, ran the club down to the players, then tried to poach players to take Cabramatta upon his sacking then ran around telling anyone that would listen that our committee were hill billies and the club was backwards. 2 years later we won the first grade premiership. Id warn any clubs thinking of taking him on to think twice.
Ditto :correct: well said lecky.

Lets not forget also his protection racket for his imports he felt the club needed who were always convieniently working on training nights.

Yeah Thirlmere got up against mitta, well done to the roosters, they had a tough off season
And spoke to players from both sides of Camden and Appin, they were 2 very different phone calls. Appin have copped a tough schedule

Nick Crouch scored 3 tries and was in form reminiscent of a few years ago, however he has broken his thumb.
Not trying to spread instability (So don't get defensive), but I am getting reports of a skinny roster at Appin, are there enough players there to tough it out, especially with Tom Moon on the injured list and Kyle Weh going down?

8 sackings in 10 years.. There's a common denominator there and it isn't the clubs. He got us at a weak moment with the passing of Paul Jarvis.. He'd been trying to get in with us for a few seasons, but we'd kept him out because of a poor reputation that knew no boundaries. He tries to come across as a 'good bloke', but is a major over compensator. I knew from his first address that he couldn't command a group.. Couldn't speak.. Fairly vital coaching tool, and then the divide & conquer tactics with committee members and players started within a week. Same Lecky, I highly doubt any club will even swing a barge pole in his direction again.

Mixed day for Picton 1st grade yesterday. Smoking in the 1st half. Donny Thompson at 5/8 with Letty at centre and Dreves at fullback was fantastic. 2nd half different story. Take nothing away from the Oaks, who came out determined and are a quality outfit, but we were annihilated with penalties. There's no way our discipline is that bad that it could be so lopsided.
Injuries to Thompson, Jack Twist and Luke Monds soured the day somewhat too.
Again though, The Oaks were good in the 2nd 40 and will be more than a handful as the season progresses.

I don't think it's just paranoia mate. I like to think I'm pretty level headed in that regard. But that is the 3rd game of 3 this year where it's been a wide-held view that we've been caned. I'll stick with the swings and round abouts theory for now though.

Picton by plenty. Narellan sans Baker actually look rather underwhelming in the backline and Picton have the competitions best. Narellan big, tough and a bunch of grubs (I mean that as a compliment) but not enough class to challenge the top sides? Thirlmere with Paea and Buddy the competition darkhorses?

Real Bunnies connection at Thirlmere developing - maybe they can drag Scott Geddes back out of retirement?

McGrath adds some quality I just feel that they are perhaps even more back row heavy then they were last year and have lost Gallant out the back. Baker has points in him but he isn't Gallant. Can't see there year unfolding any differently to the last few at this point, can you?

jets will be strong late in the year I think. thirlmere surely couldn't take out the comp on the back of their big 3? maybe they can

I wish we were full strength. Already without Blake Matthews and Poisel before last week and then picked up injuries to Thompson, Twist and Monds on Sunday. That's 5 that will be missing. Still should field a good team though. Should be a good game.

Actually add Provost to the list of guys that did not play on Sunday and are still in doubt.
