rumour has it the trotters will be lining up for thirlmere this weekend against narellan. paea,Gordon, trotter, judd. quality
Got the team to be at least grand finalists, right there. I was very impressed with Blake Judd on the weekend, quality footballer
yileen Gordon, Blake judd and James are trotter. your talking 3 of the best centres running around in all of CRL.. what did you make of the rest of the side orana?do they have a grand finalist pack that's the question Just found out Thirlmere had three Wests Tigers Holden Cup players in that team that played us on the weekend, all valued at zero points, to help break apart our 1st Grade and club a bit more... FYI, our club is the only G6 club precluded from these Tigers allocations to 'struggling teams'... Because we supposedly "destroyed the Wests senior comp". I doubt the excess will be allocated to Thirlmere this weekend if the two Trotters are indeed locked in at the Chooks.

I doubt the excess will be allocated to Thirlmere this weekend if the two Trotters are indeed locked in at the Chooks. The attitude of Group 6 must have changed as the Jets were struggling a few years back , got big Daine Laurie and Gray Vianne from Magpies who ran amok, defeated Premiers to be Moss Vale then had the win taken off us as those two players put us over our points that day. No warning was issued before they gave us the players but group turned around when we won and took the 2 comps off us. I'm pretty sure Mossy then got the 2 comp points.
Decisions on the run!!

No disrespect Orana but on paper Thirlmere would have had the stronger team with ex NRL and NSW Cup players.
So how does Group 6 justify sending 3 players to them?? The Roosters would have been rubbing their hands in glee - no points, no match payments and all sneaking in under the radar.
I thought the Roosters were disillusioned with Woodo's recruitment practices? But they have reverted to the old ways and are grabbing who ever they can that comes on the market. The strongest junior club in the group and they are relying on the big names to get themselves competitive.
The comp is relatively strong across all clubs but to be fair any excess players should be offered to the the team coming last, then move up the table if there are other players that need a run - so Kangaroos, Tigers and Rams should have been first cabs off the rank, rather than Thirlmere who are in the top 4 at the moment, with a game in hand!!

AT the start of the season we lost an entire first grade side to appin ,the oaks, naellan. WE then had to recruit players from elsewere to form first grade. WE arenot the only club to receive players from wests appin had four players from wests last Saturday, also Camden have received players and Mittagong.

Losing players is the nature of the beast, but losing a whole 1st grade team??? Whats happening there then? Mittagong, Camden and Narellan have been able to bring through their juniors. Must be a different type of re-building program
The pathway program has its positives and its negatives. If Wests Tigers are having excess players coming over to Group 6 then obviously they aren't going through their RMC and Sydney Shield affiliates, or their own junior competitions ie Wests, Balmain and SSC.
Whilst it is good for Group 6 to get quality players they will be there one week and gone the next, which will affect outcomes and competition points. Fair enough if they are with a team long term and registered with a club, but in reality it is benefitting Wests Tigers by keeping their contracted players match fit. These same players have most likely been recruited from other clubs, districts and groups for a shot at NRL but due to limited opportunities are parked in Sydney and their junior clubs suffer from the drain of good players.
It isn't particularly a fair distribution of excess players if some clubs get players but 1 or 2 clubs don't
On a different tangent....NRL clubs pay junior clubs a development fee when they debut in NRL/NYC, but does that reach the junior club where the kid played from age 5, or does the Group hang onto those???

This whole Wests left overs coming and playing for 0 points is a ticking time bomb. Major debacle and only going to escalate. There is no possible way it can be in place and be fair and equitable.

Sometimes you just need to accept you've made a mistake. This is a big mistake by the group, and if what Orana says is true about the wests players not being allowed to play at City, then it's not a fair competition. It's not a level playing field., not all clubs have access to these players. Too much "discretion" has been used on the points system this year

Too much "discretion" has been used on the points system this year I can see everyone's point with this but for appin who were denied a reserve grade and had to turn away near 20 players plus have players walk because they believed they would not get a run having the wests boys play is only making us up numbers to take the field. Without them after being left with no reserve grade to call back on and our 18's playing at other ends of the globe (this weekend as the only exception) we can't pull players up and blokes won't stay around on hopes and dreams to play. So take away wests from appin and some weeks we will be playing with 14-15 players. Let's not forget they are fringe 20 players and not stand outs when coming back to play anyhow they are 18-19 year old kids. While I can see some points on this now regarding the roosters as they seem to have enough on there roster it's a case by case issue and with the diminishing numbers within the group I'd be thinking long and hard if I were management before making any rash decisions to please a few voices.

It's not directed at the clubs. You gotta do what you can to get by, and if the offer of quality players is there, the club will take it. You'd know Moony that we entertained the idea with Guildford earlier this year. We tried to strike up this deal ourselves. However, if what's being reported is true, being that the competition admin is pushing the envelope with the Tigers, It's wrong though that these players aren't available to all clubs, and don't come under the points system.

I understand your point TC my concern is solely for Appin having enough players to last the year as we are a stand alone team in essence. If teams are struggling to field enough player S than sure they should be able to be offered the same but if they have the roster then there is no need if we had the roster we would not need nor use the west players at all.

WOW Group 6 management are destroying themselves slowly but surely.Lets look at the big picture as to what the clubs want here, A fair and equal playing field. If Campbelltown are not getting the excess fringe players because of vandettas this is disgraceful and why would Group management be dictated to in such a way? Also lets look at the rule changing on the run one season reserves stand alone clubs and the next not allowed.I feel for the workies but they will bounce back a strong proud club.Appin were pretty much destroyed a few years ago for not being able to have a stand alone reserves. So good on Appin for getting up in Firsts now,but for them not to have a reserves now is not good As the Excess wests players wont be around come semi's.Just my thoughts but shouldnt the excess players be going to Campbelltown and the Oaks and Appin if they dont have the roster. Two byes every weekend? 18's comp split? and the 2nd Division Warragamba out and upto Reserves and the Bulls Banished? We dont want a repeat of a few years back 5 clubs firsts and reserves 5 2nd division. There is arguments for and against on every clubs behalf on all of this but what happened to the rules being fair and the same for every club.Looks like those days are gooooone.

The clubs must have input into how they think the competition should be run, after all, it is their competition. Unfortunately come AGM time when changes need to be made the powers that be get together enough votes from other Management Executives, Junior League, Referees and a few sympathetic clubs and whitewash the majority of clubs.
Appin and no reserve grade goes against what they have been preaching for years - that to have First Grade you must have Reserves!!

Appin and no reserve grade goes against what they have been preaching for years - that to have First Grade you must have Reserves!! For four year consecutive years the points has over shadowed our great competition once again, when is the Group going to get this right? And really if the points are done correctly: most clubs would exceed the regulated points, no doubt Narellan, Picton, Appin and Thirlmere, would have and have been all under question.
And now the added problem of unpointed Tigers players, points are points no matter where they are from, if you can't fit them in your team, pass them on to the next team available, its a bloody easy fix.
And why Orana are they not been given to your club, your side has been the most disappointing team to date and no doubt your team needs help.
And finally, I'm over the Groups "we will do what we want policy" they are not hearing to the clubs and though people don't want to admit it, our competition is going backwards at a very fast rate.

Under question?? What does that mean? Because our points have been questioned on here and I answer it every time. I've got to pull you up for that, not only on behalf of Picton but the majority of clubs that have made every effort to stay under. I can assure you, having been on the club committee, it's actually very easy to stay under the points. We are in the lucky position of having an abundance of juniors in the senior grades. Are you just mentioning the Picton club because we've had recent success? If so, that's a little unfair. One thing the group does very well is send out the current points of every registered player to every club on a weekly basis. There's really no way to cheat.

There is too much scrutiny by Group and the clubs for out and out cheating to occur. The errors come when interpretation of the points rules leads to arguments. The eagles flouted the rules and fought the ruling to their detriment, but other cases have been honest mistakes that unfortunately still count against the club involved.
