this weeks predictions;

Camden over roos 19+
the oaks over an under strength mitta 1-12
an under strength narellan over appin 1-12
Agree with these tips not sure about the oaks though aperently last week the younger Brassington scored 4 try's and kicked 5 or 6 and Mathew former thirlmere player had a hand in a few of those if these two can play well and Begovich as well then mayb a slight chance I still think mitta maybe to good.. Appin will push narellan all the way Flanagan and McCauley will need big games.. Camden easily to god for city with cashmere and the other qaulity forwards to strong for city's pack.

hokpkins out for the season. narellan have re signed Michael stolk, handy replacement. also hearing russel Aiken already parted ways with city?
Haha nice try Tik, just speaking with him 15mins ago.
When does Aitken play his first game?
Russ commences next Tuesday night training, first game tba, he has a wedding in Bali soonish.
By the way, who was your number 11 on Sunday? Was that your big signing (sorry can't remember the name). He was very strong in a well beaten team.
Yes foal, that's Manu, he has been outstanding for us this season, in well beaten up teams.

Agree TC re the 8/ 10 scenario... but if it gets you guys and Warragamba up next season, it'll be worth it. But I'm sceptical about Warragamba being able to do much long term being so close to the Penrith JL and the $$$ their A Grade clubs have.

Female Group 6 rugby league trainer dropped for wearing leggings on the field

A female trainer from the Macarthur area has allegedly been stood down from her duties for wearing three-quarter leggings on the field.

The situation, which blew up on Facebook on the eve of the NRL’s Women in League round, began after the female trainer wore leggings during a pre-season Country Rugby League group 6 tournament.

It is believed some club members took offence at her attire.

After the tournament, she was told she would not be trainer to the CRL group 6 representative team, a role she held last year.

The woman has declined to comment after being advised not to speak to the media.

Group 6 senior president Grahame Andrews confirmed the woman was spoken to in a pre-season tournament, but said it was about the shirt she was wearing and not about the leggings.

He said the woman had not been appointed trainer this season to the rep team.

She has since been stood down by her group 6 club. The club did not return calls.

Training gear similar to what they were in first grade will be standardised across Country

The NRL has said it was taking the matter “very seriously” and CRL CEO Terry Quinn was in the process of arranging a meeting with the woman to discuss her concerns.

“This week in particular highlights the significant role women and girls play across all levels of rugby league,” an NRL spokesman said in a written statement.

Campbelltown rugby league coach and official Elwyn Brown offered to advocate on the woman’s behalf.

Dean Harrison, who was at the same club as the woman for three years, said he could not fault her.

“She has a great work ethic,” Mr Harrison said. “She had the same three-quarter pants then. We did not have a problem with them.”

Brian Clark, the father of two Campbelltown-based Jillaroos, said the game was full of “petty politics”.

Mr Andrews confirmed all on-field officials were required to wear coloured shirts relating to their roles. He said shorts would be mandatory next season.

Why are 2 people from Campbelltown commenting on a Group 6 issue???

There is more to this story than what the papers report.....

Dean Harrison is from our club East Campbelltown Eagles RLFC, and I can't see a problem with his comment, he only stated that in his dealings with this female trainer her work ethic was good.

And Elwyn Brown is from Campbelltown Warriors and his also a director with the Aboriginal men's group, and he has only offered to give this person support, can't see to much into that.

Bureaucracy gone mad
The results from the last 2 weeks are a bit mad too, the comp is wide open, Mittagong have showed some frailties, Picton have had a slip up, Narellan striking a bit of form, Thirlmere got the big scalp but fell to the winless Oaks Tigers, Camden flying under the radar as too are Appin, the only one that looks like a shot duck are te Kangaroos.
Orana, have you guys written off the season already?

The bye is very timely for us. We should get a few back from injury next week which filters down to all grades. Having a 3rd grade definitely creates challenges as far as numbers go. An injury in first or reserves ultimately means 3rds lose a player. We had 20 in our first round against Bargo, today I'm strapping the boots on to make 13 against Bundanoon!!

this weeks predictions;

Camden over roos 19+
the oaks over an under strength mitta 1-12
an under strength narellan over appin 1-12
A good Jets win in a very scrappy game marred by the ref overusing his whistle. Players sin binned and sent off for minor indiscretions and some questionable decisions had the crowd rubbing their foreheads in disbelief.

Both teams were without quality players though.

Why go to those for a comment they know nothing about for a story that has holes all the way through it.

PS there was no sacking

At yesterday's fixtures at Fullwood Reserve, the City club was honoured to pay tribute to Ray Dore, with a minute's silence observed before the U/18A game between Appin and Camden. While Ray may have been across the sidelines from the Kangaroos for all but one year of his career, it is appropriate to acknowledge the respect the CCKRLFC has for one of the finest contributors that Campbelltown Rugby League has ever seen. Here is a transcript of what was said in honour of Ray:
"The City club asks both teams and the crowd to observe a minute's silence today for the passing of Ray Dore. Ray was a true Rugby League man all of his life. A player with the Oakdale club, Ray would go on to be a highly successful coach and mentor of many junior Campbelltown Warriors teams, in particular boys born in 1968. Ray coached the Campbelltown Warriors to three U/20s premierships in the late 1980s, before joining our club as its A Grade coach in 1989. Ray returned to his beloved Warriors in 1990, spearheading them to another A Grade title win. Ray continued his phenomenal success in 1992, coaching the Appin Warriors Reserve Grade team to a title win over Mittagong, in their first season of Group 6 competition. Everywhere Ray went, he contributed to our sport- even as an employee at Hoxton Park HS and Leumeah HS, in the Wests Leagues Cup competition. Ray had this season been a groundsman and mentor to the U/18 team at Appin Dogs. The Macarthur is a lesser place for the passing of Ray Dore and we extend our condolences to the Dore family".
