At yesterday's fixtures at Fullwood Reserve, the City club was honoured to pay tribute to Ray Dore, with a minute's silence observed before the U/18A game between Appin and Camden. While Ray may have been across the sidelines from the Kangaroos for all but one year of his career, it is appropriate to acknowledge the respect the CCKRLFC has for one of the finest contributors that Campbelltown Rugby League has ever seen. Here is a transcript of what was said in honour of Ray:
"The City club asks both teams and the crowd to observe a minute's silence today for the passing of Ray Dore. Ray was a true Rugby League man all of his life. A player with the Oakdale club, Ray would go on to be a highly successful coach and mentor of many junior Campbelltown Warriors teams, in particular boys born in 1968. Ray coached the Campbelltown Warriors to three U/20s premierships in the late 1980s, before joining our club as its A Grade coach in 1989. Ray returned to his beloved Warriors in 1990, spearheading them to another A Grade title win. Ray continued his phenomenal success in 1992, coaching the Appin Warriors Reserve Grade team to a title win over Mittagong, in their first season of Group 6 competition. Everywhere Ray went, he contributed to our sport- even as an employee at Hoxton Park HS and Leumeah HS, in the Wests Leagues Cup competition. Ray had this season been a groundsman and mentor to the U/18 team at Appin Dogs. The Macarthur is a lesser place for the passing of Ray Dore and we extend our condolences to the Dore family".
Not to mention coaching the East Campbelltown Eagles JRLFC from 1975, winning Premierships in 1979, 1980 and finishing up winning the Under 16's Premiership in 1982, Ray was a committee member during this time and was East Campbelltown Eagles JRLFC President in 1982.

Ray was a great help to our Club with the ECEJRLFC 40th and 50th Anniversary.

Ray will be a huge loss for Rugby League in the Macarthur area, and on behalf of the East Campbelltown Eagles JRLFC we send our condolences to the Dore Family.

this weeks predictions;

Camden over roos 19+
the oaks over an under strength mitta 1-12
an under strength narellan over appin 1-12
A good Jets win in a very scrappy game marred by the ref overusing his whistle. Players sin binned and sent off for minor indiscretions and some questionable decisions had the crowd rubbing their foreheads in disbelief.

Both teams were without quality players though.
wouldn't have been that same reff would it jetter...
Yes!!
Was the game ordinary?
Once Jets got to 14 - nil the game was ours to lose. Appin didn't threaten to score and jets come home with a wet sail. Good physical game in the middle but lots of dropped ball, forward passes and niggling penalties.

I've heard through some questionable sources that the better pes may be lacing the boots up for the oaks first grade. Maybe Camden could let Todd pes come out and take notes?

Rumour or trumour G6 has introduced a $50 fine for players swearing? Sounds a little pradantic and over the top, i'm all for respect but it will be hard to enforce and i don't have money lying around lol. I play a blue collar game not rah rah. As if they don't make enough money charging $8 a game even for players?????? :/

The $50 fine is for bench people and staff who swear. If players swear they will cop a couple of weeks. Silly rule

It got us a beauty.
Our captain swore within a huddle in the in-goal after a try was scored. He only swore in addressing the players, and it was only loud enough for the touch judge to hear. The referee blew a penalty at the kick-off and put him in the bin. 5 Minutes later, the Thirlmere hooker swore twice at the top of his voice in anger and nothing is said.
The referee said because it was in the middle of the field, it was a different case...........
It's an ordinary rule, but if you keep coming out with garbage like this, it has to be consistent and across the board.

We have a player sitting out for 2 weeks because of it! I believe the group are treading on dangerous territory .

2 things need to be done the group need to have a good look at them selfs and these pathetic rules they are enforcing before the talent coming out to this comp lose interest and 2 the bald ref(police officer) needs to be stood down or sacked! no one is interested in watching a Hollywood Harrigan wannabe try and be the star of the game's.

I was threatened with 'official action' because I swore while talking to my 3rd grade players and support staff on the bench while the game was in play at Bundanoon last week. The tone and volume was conversational, but the ref heard because he was on our side of the field only about 20 metres from the bench. I don't know if you're familiar with Bundy oval, but there were literally no spectators for 100 metres around us. The closest were up the hill on the balcony of the overlooking Bundanoon bowling club. That is no exaggeration.
I probably didn't help the situation by assuring the ref that "yes I would speak to my team however I like", after he stopped the game to warn me.

Got no problem stamping out fighting with the one punch rule but this is farcical especially tcs example give these under performing refs rules open to interpretation u get some very angry and upset fans and players who will look elsewhere wen it gets too ridiculous
