The standard of the 2nd division has impressed me gents.
I take it you weren't at Mt Annan today then. Drop-a-thon. Although it was played in pouring rain.

Narellan vs Oakdale in reserve grade wasn't any better and yes it bucketed down also.

The Oaks vs City in 1st grade was close to the worst game I've ever watched. Must've been 100 scrums. The Oaks have spent an awful lot of cash to run second last marginally ahead of a genuine bits and pieces reserve grade outfit. City tried hard which is about as much as I can say for them...

It was pretty wet yesterday.
I can't remember the last time we played in the rain

Where was the star signing Aitken? was he playing? I didn't see him and you are right Taco, city are ordinary.

I don't know if they have injuries or not but they have no one, I still say good on them for having a go, I couldn't see why Oakdale couldn't stepped up to play 1st Grade, 2 byes every week is not good for the competition.

Pretty sure Oakdale are sitting 7th on Reggie's ladder with minimal numbers and most of the squad over 35. Competitive in reserve grade. Do you still think they should step up into firsts? I agree the draw is flawed, but it only needs a rethink to avoid the byes.

Our first grade coaches are filthy with the byes and the way the draw is set out. It's impossible to build momentum. They had last week off, played yesterday, have the long weekend off, play Thirlmere then have another week off.

A footballer wants to be playing week in and week out but at the moment it is too much stop and start. Unless you are carrying an injury constant footy keeps you match fit, on your toes and building towards the semi finals. First Grade is the showcase competition and should be treated as such, not playing second fiddle to the interests of the Reserve Grade club and to First's detriment.

Reserve Grade should have been made to fit the draw of First Grade. Fullstop.

We are having one of those seasons that all clubs have, but will stick it out and fulfil our obligations to the Group and our fellow clubs. We lack quality across the park and that's not easily fixed.
Aiko was at a wedding in Bali and will return for our next game.

I'm tipping it to be freezing cold at Picton tonight for Oakdale v Picton
Even more so on the bench where I'll be

Picton may have their hands full tonight, taking on an enthused oakdale side fresh from picking up their pension cheques

we are lucky to have such experience and talent running around in the group these days players who have had great careers and alot of old heads still getting around. also very lucky to have some great young talent alot of very good 18-20 year olds. who would be your pick of the bunch as future dominant group players? here's a short list for me in no particular order but I would deffinetly have Matt thorp and fraser from narellan as the stand out boys. in my opinion these are the youngsters who have most impact on a game

thorp(mitta)
Mitchell brasington(the oaks)
Fraser m (jets)
Ben Stevens (Camden)
city hooker? Islander kid
Allan McGrath (narellan)
rodney Merritt(narellan)
josh graham (narellan)
thirlmere fullback?
Rory vale(picton)
Tom dengate(picton)
Blake Mathews (picton)
mitta fullback ?
mcguigan (city)
appin front rower? lekky?

Provost from Picton. Extremely underrated. Not far off Flanno and Thorpe in terms of classy hookers.

The $50 fine is for bench people and staff who swear. If players swear they will cop a couple of weeks. Silly rule
I'm sure they have meetings what can we fine someone for now to raise money for group to make up for few sponsors they have.....in my time I found they promised the world encouraged and pushed you to do something they knew would be impossible asking for bonds and then keeping the money because you did not pull it off when other club at time did same but was not punished fined or what ever they may call it..
