Tips for Grand Finals 1sts: Picton, first club back-to-back since Camden in 1997-98. Picton to have too much big game class in the outside backs. Reserves: Thirlmere in an epic decider, Neddy Saleh Man of the Match. 18s: Camden to reverse their major semi loss. 2nd Division: Picton to thwart Dasha Politis' hopes of seeing a Narellan premiership on the day. Foal successfully defends the 1974 2nd Division premiership of Picton, last time they contested the grade. 18Bs: Warragamba, with Stan Presdee to have a better day than he did 20 years ago, Appin v Camden in the 1994 decider! |

I largely agree with Oranas predictions for Sunday. I just hope the referees rule with common sense and consistency and may the best teams win. How is the surface at Victoria park? Have heard conflicting reports? |

The Kangaroos club would like to announce the signing of ex- Wentworthville and Windsor NSW Cup forward Dylan Sharp for the 2015 season. Dylan had 2014 season off, after captaining Thirlmere in 2012-13.

I'll go along with your predictions there mate. Regarding our 2nd division game, obviously I'm hoping we win and I'm positive about our chances, but I'm just so wrapped we made it. Considering the squad is largely made up of guys that couldn't get a run in reggies last year, and that 6 weeks ago we were 50/50 to make the top 5. Their attitude has been outstanding over the last month. |

Allan Sheldrick is doing first grade. He is a good referee, but I do feel he gets sidetracked a lot. I just hope he has learned from the mistakes he made in the second half of the reggies GF last year. |

There's a young ref that been running around in first grade this year. Must be 21/22 and short. Not sure of his name but he's been great all year. |

Sheldrick. Good referee however does get very whistle happy. You want the ref to have control but not be a control freak. The late Brett Meredith was an excellent referee. Ruled with common sense and took his emotions out of it. Had the players respect and the best team usually won the game. |

They probably were, but I'm honestly not sure. I didn't ask them. My assumption is that it will be the same with the possible inclusion of Poisel, depending on his injury. I dare say they'll name 19 or 20 and not finalise til Sunday morning. |

Two Mittagong Lions sides to contest Group 6 grand finals By Lauren Strode http://www.southernhighlandnews.com.au/story/2552119/mittagong-lions-eye-off-premierships/?cs=264 ![]() First grade coach Scott Borg and reserve grade coach Corey Shepherd are ready to take on Picton and Thirlmere in the Group 6 grand finals this weekend at Picton. Photo by Lauren Strode IT WILL be take two for the Mittagong Lions this weekend with two teams in the Group 6 grand finals. Reserve and first grade will again be in the decider for a second year in a row. With both teams losing narrowly last year, both sides will be keen to lift the premiership trophy on Sunday, September 14. Reserve grade will take on Thirlmere and it will be a 2013 grand final rematch in first grade as Mittagong takes on the home team Picton. First grade coach Scott Borg said the focus this week was on Sunday's match but the memory of last year's devastating loss is sure to have been in the back of everyone's mind. "I think a lot of the boys actually prefer to play Picton rather than Camden for that fact but we can't think about last year," he said. "They've got a different team and we've got a couple of extra players. "So we're not really going to be thinking about it but I know it'll be in the back of people's minds and hopefully it is a bit of motivation for them for the game." With the week off, Borg said Rhyce McLaren was the only player in doubt for Sunday's match after injuring himself at a training session. Picton overcame Camden last weekend in the preliminary final. With plenty of Mittagong players watching on, Borg said the Lions would need to slow down Picton's defenders. "They're just big strong runners," he said. "They're all big bodied humans and they're big, fast and they isolate defenders so if we can slow them down I think we can do a good job on them." Borg also said Mittagong's defence would be crucial in Sunday's match. The Group 6 grand finals will be held at Victoria Park, Picton. Reserve grade will kick off at 1.25pm and first grade at 3.15pm. He's a dead set cheat! Not sure if he's mates with mittagong players or what but seen him in control of a few of their games the last couple years and he doesn't make bad calls he is completely biased some are so ridiculous its obvious he's favouring them. Id put 1000 on mitt a boys will be hungry after loss last year n that ref its a certainty Edited by splinter, Sep 12 2014, 11:07 PM.
