Ahh yeah, no. That particular referee is most definitely NOT mates with any of the Picton players. I'm not bagging the guy, but he is no more a friend to any of our players than is Ozzie Ostrich. The players don't know the first thing about him away from footy. |

Congratulations to the Premiers of the following grades in the 100th Year of CRL Group 6: U/18Bs: Warragamba Wombats U/18As: Camden Rams 2nd Division: Narellan Jets Reserve Grade: Mittagong Lions 1st Grade: Picton Magpies I tipped Picton all year and just knew that when the whips were cracking, they'd overpower any team in the Group. They are a long way out in front of the rest of the Group at the moment, and the first three-peat since Picton 1985-87 could well be on the cards. |

The City club today signed experienced former Appin and Thirlmere 1st Grader Gavin Graham for the 2015 season. In other news, 2015 will see the club return to Orana Park (Campbelltown Stadium), with the club committing to play as many home games as possible at our spiritual home. |

Camden are IMO close behind really only lacking an experienced half an a explosive player to create a few more scoring opportunities to compliment their very solid forward pack |

Upon receiving G6 Player of the Year, Ray Cashmere mentioned that he was now retired for 2015... This is a huge blow for the Rams if they can't spin him around, but knowing Chicka and Doons, they'd have someone lined up already. |

Picton Outplay Lions To Win Trophy. . Ryan Borg checks on his brother Scott as he goes down early in the second half. Photo by Roy Truscott IT WAS another heartbreaking loss for Mittagong first grade Lions on Sunday. After going down to Picton in the grand final the year before, hopes were high Mittagong could claim the premiership this year. But it was not to be. The Lions were still in the match at half time despite trailing 14-4 but the loss of coach Scott Borg early in the second half to concussion was a huge blow. Mittagong held Picton out for a few more sets after Borg came off before the Magpies again crossed to increase their lead to 18-4. From there Picton got on a roll and continued to score. When the final whistle blew, Mittagong was on the wrong end of a 36-4 scoreline. Mittagong club stalwart Bob Hall said it was a disappointing result. "We were outplayed and out enthused. One team really turned up and the other team didn't," he said. "Everybody tried hard but it just didn't come off. I can only congratulate Picton. They were supporting the ball carrier and they did everything right." Hall said Erin Blackshaw had a terrific game for Mittagong on Sunday and Matt Thorpe was strong in defence. "He's (Thorpe) just phenomenal week in week out. His work rate is just brilliant. Ross Brown also had a really strong game taking the ball up." While the Lions did not take home the trophy, Hall said it had still been a great season for the club. "We won the club championship for the second year in a row. It shows the strength of the club. "Every player tried their heart out, we just couldn't put it together but we'll get there Edited by disco stu, Sep 17 2014, 12:27 PM.

Will be a really pivotal year for Camden next year. They've had their 18s in the last 4 grand finals and won the last 3. That's a wealth of talent right there. They've gotta be careful Not to shun those boys as they may leave seeking an opportunity elsewhere, that's what happened back in the early 2000s They lacked consistency in their back line roster. Couldn't settle on wingers, both Crouch and Cerruto were injured, brownie and Hoskins swapping half and full back roles. Edited by tc6_11, Sep 18 2014, 07:20 AM.

Although Mittagong were below par, I do believe Picton kicked into gear when it mattered. Every member of that 17 was very strong on the day. There has already been plenty of talk of maintaining the vast majority of that squad if not all of it. With the large amount of local juniors that are at or around the same age (Peters, White, Twist, B. Shephard, Provost) and a few young imports that are very close to the rest of the squad the nucleus is there. Front row rotation may need tweaking/revising with Bowers set to hang them up and Youngy retiring mid year. Big Kenny is keen as to stay, and I believe Clarkey is too. Kiel Shephard is stll only 29 and as fit as any player around, but time will tell how many years he'll keep powering on. I can confirm the boys are very happy though. Lots of contented smiles over the last few days. Edited by foal, Sep 18 2014, 08:09 PM.

Accidentally clicked on the 2013 thread, what garbage that was lol funny a lot of those characters from "group 6 " clubs have left the forum though their clubs are still in the comp! Its much more of a resource for clubs again. Anyone besides city making signings? Oakdale looking for a coach does this mean players on the books? |

Surely not. Isn't B-Hop the single biggest reason that side disintegrated? Group 6 really needs Workers to get back on board. Moss Vale would be at very long odds and I don't think anyone would be surprised if Appin struggled coming off a season without a reggies. Thirlmere - who knows what roster they'll have but you'd think it wouldn't look much like this years and Narellan were the competitions biggest disappointment by the end of the year. City making a lot of October noise and their best signing isn't even a player but the Stadium. Picton locking away the Groups best roster and a probable 3 peat. The Oaks going with their big 5 signings again next year? Camden to persuade big Ray to go around again. Borgs to have ANOTHER shot with Mitta? Could be a very uneven 6 team first grade in 2015. Plenty of time I guess though haha look at me getting all carried away in October. Edited by Taco, Oct 3 2014, 06:14 PM.

We haven't signed anyone, just text messages and Chinese whispers. we are trying to lock down a coach first, which will hopefully happen next week Appin have signed Bart Masters, so there's a start I heard the Brazzos are shopping around, with Mark to retire and one of them (Matt/Mitch/Michael?????) getting an offer from Guildford, who will coach The Oaks too, pretty sure Leo might find it difficult to get out there. The talk I've heard about the Borgs is that Scott wants to be closer to home, pretty sure he's at ELDERSLIE. That's just some of the info I have |

Silly season rumours would see: Picton- massive favourites to go three peat Camden- massive favourites to get Scott Borg and make the GF Narellan- Dasha Politis to sign a coach and a whole new team from anywhere and everywhere. Appin- back in 2nd Division, depends on what's happening with Flanno Warragamba- back in 2nd Division, 50-1 to get 1st Grade Oakdale- hopefully make it back to 1st Grade City- Kevin Kingston linked with the City club Moss Vale- hopefully back in 1st Grade, great club and a great annual trip Thirlmere- sign more blokes at the last minute to be competitive The Oaks- to continue their 23 season premiership drought Mt Annan- play 2nd Division Robertson- play 2nd Division Bargo- play 2nd Division Bundanoon- play 2nd Division Bowral- to return with 2nd Division and 18s |
