It would still be good if other West's clubs involved in the SCC would participate. Promote your club, promote your team and players and promote Rugby League. That is the reason we have a forum.
Well Said  love to hear about all club

All Saints had a much needed confidence booster today, knocking off the undefeated competition leaders, St George Dragons 15-10. Still with only 13 1st graders taking the park and 2 reserve graders backing up. 100% completions in the 2nd half went a long way to taking St George's undefeated status off them. :winner: :winner:

Reserve Grade went down 36-6 to Moorebank Rams.

Great result. Well done to Alan and the coaching staff and all the players led by Tubby. I'm sure the beer tasted so much better at the post match drinks at the Collo. Also well done to the hard working committee for picking up a couple of new sponsors. Go the mighty Saints.

New South Wales Sydney Shield Competition 2014

As the East Campbelltown Eagles now pass the half way mark in the New South Wales Rugby League Sydney Shield Competition, the Eagles are flying in 3rd spot, on 17 points with 8 wins, 3 loses and a draw. The 2012 CRL Claytons Cup winning club was happy just to put a competitive side on the paddock for 2014, but the team has already exceeded all expectations to keep themselves near the top of the ladder in 3rd spot behind heavyweights Wentworthville and new comers and currently the undefeated side the Peninsula Seagulls.

Coach Gary Potts said, we are happy with our current situation and it’s where we were aiming for from the start of the year. Our guys are still learning and we have a lot of improvement to go before the season ends, the competition is a lot harder to what we have come accustomed to in the past few years and we have found out that if we don’t turn up to play we will be on the end of a heavy loss, we are fortunate to have a young squad that we can develop and build on for the future, and look forward to the challengers that lay ahead in the 2nd Round of the Competition.

Round 12 Sydney Shield East Campbelltown Eagles V Auburn Warriors

On Saturday the 14th of June at Campbelltown Stadium, the Eagles took on Auburn Warriors, the Eagles took no time in putting the points on the board when centre Lamoni Kamuta bumped off two players to score in the corner, Staphen Harding kicked it from the side line for the Eagles to go to 6 Nil, 4 minutes later the Eagles where in again when Sama Sauvao scored from the scrum and again Harding converted for the Eagles to race to an early 12 nil lead.

The Eagles than raced another two tries one try from Sam Hoare when he barged over from dummy half and the other try from Wayde Dunley when he ran through a gap to score near the up rights, Harding converted both tries for the Eagles to go to a 24 Nil lead

The Eagles must have called it a day when Auburn went on the attack running in 3 tries before half time to narrow the gap 24-16 at the break.
The second half didn’t get any better for the Eagles when the Warriors scored tries at will running a further 5 tries in the next 30 minutes of footy and the Eagles couldn’t stop the role on from the Auburn Warriors. The Eagles did manage to score again when Lamoni Kamuta found himself in open spaces to cross for the Eagles, Harding had another good day with the boot kicking 5 from 5.

The Auburn Warriors finished up with another try right on full time to upset the Eagles with 52 points to 30 victory over the Eagles
Best for the Eagles where Stephen Harding, Lamoni Kamuta and Rob Neave

Auburn Warriors 52 defeated East Campbelltown Eagles 30

Tries Wayde Dunley Sama Sauvao Sam Hoare Lamoni Kamuta 2

Goals Stephen Harding 5 from 5

The Eagles take on Peninsula Seagulls this Sunday the 22nd of June at 3pm at Lake Park.

I am told that Moorebank / Eagles have officially folded their 1st grade. We still have about 2 spots left in our 1st grade books if anybody is up to it. There are only 11 days left to register with any body. So get in quick as I am sure they will fill.

Was it through lack of numbers? If so it is pretty disheartening as the arrangement sounded as though it was working well.

"From what I am told" it was more about commitment and players that were "not" playing up in Sydney Shield did not turn up to play A Grade. They have played with 11 players for a few games. (Maybe Trent can comment more on this as my info is 2nd hand) But this really is a shame, as when things are starting to look good for the SCC, something happens to make the comp take a step backwoods. I still think the comps could be more evenly balanced with the top side in Reserve Grade (Renown) having an undefeated status and a for and against double anybody else. Ingleburn Bulldogs are also looking pretty good. 5 teams now in 1st grade and 10 in reserve grade. About time people stepped up and had a go and not just looked for a premiership jacket. :correct:
I personally would like to see just 1st and reserve grade until the comp grows more. 24 sides in 3 Grades at the moment which would make a great 2 x 12 team comp and play 5 team semis.

Just my opinion :letmesee:

We have had a number of players injured lately which in turns takes numbers out of Moorebank, luckily none of these players are season ending injuries never less though it took its toll on Moorebank, the relationship was working well and we still have a number of players that will remain with Moorebank in Reserve A Grade .

Moorebank was always designed to give players the opportunity to get plenty of game time and a shot at Sydney Shield, and 3 players that were originally registered with Moorebank have now been contracted to the Eagles Sydney Shield and have found a position in the team.

The Moorebank team was to take excess players from the Magpies and Eagles, and the numbers coming back from these two squads hasn’t been great in the past few weeks and again that came down to injuries and players not available to play.

The Sydney Shield match of the round produced an incredible scoreline. The odds on comp favourites Peninsula Seagulls led 3rd placed East Campbelltown 52-0 at half time.

It appears that fortunes changed in the second half with the final score 64-34. Nearly 100 points in 80 minutes - sensational attack or no defence or a bit of both?

I'll get a full match report put together tomorrow, but yes we had a very poor start, Peninsula had awesome attack that exposed us, a big rev up at half time seen us win the second half 34-12 but that isn't good enough.

We are very much under strength at the moment with a lot of injuries but that is not an excuse, hopefully we can hit back next week, Peninsula is a very good team

We have a number of players due back this week that should strenthen that edge your talking about, normally Filipo and Sama Sauvao defend that side, and they have been missed through injury, Sama will be back this week but Filipo has another 3 weeks, Sam Hoare, Ronny Palumbo and Sam Hull will also return this week.

Its something we all as a club will address for next year, being a long season of 22 rounds plus finals, and week in week out tough Rugby League we will look at our depth for 2015 :correct:
