Most people thought we were short of numbers.... Today's game was a tough one with the heat and the heaviness of the field still have a few players out big effort from some of our big boys who had to play big minutes due to injuries in the backs

Round 1 Sydney Shield East Campbelltown vs Auburn Warriors

Great autumn day out at Lidcome Oval. It was set up to be a great day with both packs of forwards looking the same size with a slight advantage to the Eagles. The eagles started of well with a try to Sean Connor in the 6th Min and successfully converted his own try to lead 6 nil. The eagles then extended their lead to 12 with a Try to Limoni Kumutu with sean converting. Auburn then hit back taking the score to 12-6. The Eagles then stormed into the break with two Tries to Chris Standing and Philipo Sauvou with sean looking good with the boot converting both the eagles taking a 24-6 lead into the break. The second half started poorly for the eagles with the warriors scoring three quick tries to cut the eagles lead to only 4 points. The eagles then applied the pressure to the warriors defence with 2 sets of six with the eagles then extending the lead with a try to big Jacob Nansen with sean converting once again taking eagles lead out to 10 points. The game was riddled with errors as both teams failed to keep a hold of the ball. The eagles managed to keep a hold of the ball to score through Will Ahokava and Sean not looking like missing a goal to lead 36-20. The eagles continued to apply the pressure and a line break to Limoni Kumuta with a flick pass back to Phillpo Sauvao for his second try of the day this try converted by Sam Hoare to lead 42-20 with 3mins to go. The warriors finished the game with a try to take the final score to 42-26
Best for the eagles were Sam Hoare, Jimmy Lullili and Phillpo Sauvao

Try scorers
Sean Connor
Limoni Kumutu
Chris Standing
Philipo Sauvao 2
Jacob Nansen
Will Ahokava
Goals
Sean Connor 6/6
Sam Hoare 1/1

Hi all. wasn't at the game again due to a back problem but believe that Hillier Oval had a good day.
Started with a win to our u/19s against Canley Vale Kookas

Our reserves went down to a fit and fast U/23s side called Aquinas (but I am told it was good game)

Our Firsts stepped up a gear from the last game Beating Canley Vale Kookas about 60-10 ?

Everything is falling into place for All Saints 2014

Its a shame that West's clubs voted against letting Eagles into the SCC. The SCC now have a 7 team 1st grade comp and Eagles have a full A Grade side ready to play in it. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. :dunno:

Good news for the Sydney Shield side is Wayde Dunley has been given the green light by our physio to play tomorrow, on a sad note Sean Connor has been ruled out by the physio.

Can't wait for tomorrow's game, it's going to be a tough battle, Peninsula knocking off Mounties last week.

Sydney Shield Round 2
East Campbelltown Eagles vs Peninsula Seagulls

The stage was set for the battle of the birds as the Eagles met the Seagulls at Waminda oval on Sunday. It was great to see the eagles back at home and were ready for the seagulls in front of a good crowd. The Eagles had a few setbacks early in the day with the ruling out of Wade Dunley. However this didn't dampen the eagles who soared in the first few minutes and scoring through Michael Bradstock, eagles leading 4-0. 2 minutes later the Seagulls scored and converting seeing the eagles fade away taking the score to 6-4 in favour of the visitors. The eagles soon hit back with a try to Limoni Kumuta with Chris Standing Converting with the eagles gaining back the lead 10-6. 7minutes later saw Michael Bradstock cross for his second try of the day extending the Eagles Lead to 16-6. The Seagulls scored two quick tribes just before the break and take the lead into the break. Halftime Eagles 16- Seagulls18.

The second Half started like the first with the eagles scoring in the first five minutes after the break through Uati Isaako with Standing converting with a spectacular kick gaining the lead back 22-18. The Eagles then continued to dominate with ball with saw the Eagles cross once again with a try to Giovanni Votuvai extending the Eagles lead to 26-18. The Seagulls hit back soon after to cut the eagles lead to 2 points. The stage was set for a grandstand finish with 15minutes left on the clock. Both teams defence was strong however the eagles was first to break with the seagulls scoring to gain back the lead. With not much possession the Eagles defence was to be tested. The Seagulls scored three more tries to see the score blow out to 48-26 with 5 minutes to go. The Eagles would be the last to trouble the scorers with a second try to Limoni Kumuta and a conversion to Chris Standing to see the Fulltime Score East Campbelltown 32 Peninsula 48.

Tries
Michael Bradstock 2
Limoni Kumuta 2
Giovanni Votuvai
Uati Isaako

Goals
Chris Standing 4/6

See draw

SCC Draw Click here

Unsure why but 1st grade is not added yet.

At this stage I know of:

All Saints
Berala Bears
Penshurst
Bass Hill Broncos
St George Dragons
Titans
Burwood

That makes 7 but strange the 1st grade draw is not up yet. Maybe there is another team to come???
I cant believe St Christopher's don't have any sides in any grades :dunno:
I just was told that the St Christophers players are playing for Aquinas in the Cronulla comp. Unsure how true that is ?

Round 3 Sydney Shield East Campbelltown Eagles V Guildford

On Sunday the 6th of April the East Campbelltown Eagles travelled to McCredie Park Guildford for the Sydney Shield Round 3 clash against Guildford. With the return of Stephen Harding, Wayde Dunley, and Fusi Toutai, the Eagles where putting a very strong side on the paddock. From the kick off its was all Guildford and for the first 5 minutes they hammered the Eagles line but the Eagles defence was awesome holding out several sets of six on their on line, the Eagles finally getting some ball and worked it down field before executing a cleaver blind side play that seen Uati Isaako show great hands to score in the corner in the 7th minute and the conversion from Sean Connor was unsuccessful

The Eagles forwards started breaking the Guildford line and when big front rower Jacob Nansen busted the line he scored next to the uprights leaving Sean Connor with an easy conversion to led 10 nil, with the slippery conditions the Eagles physical defence seen the ball pop out from Guildford’s grasp on a number of occasions and the flood gates open with Eagles running in tries to Sama Sauvao and Limoni Kamuta before half time with Connor converting both tries, eagles going into half time break 22-0

The Eagles started the second half where they finished and 2 minutes in Sama Sauvao scored his second for the day and again Connor converted to go 28-0, Phillipo Sauvao was not to be out done by his brother scored next for the Eagles to blow the score out to 34-0. Guildford scooped up a loose pass that seen them run 80 meters for a try and to put them on the board and that started a comeback from the Guildford team, they then ran in a further two tries in 10 minutes to throw a late challenge at the Eagles at 32-16. As usual the Eagles responded and again two tries to Phillipo Sauvao to finish up with a hat trick and the final score of East Campbelltown Eagles 42 Defeated Guildford Owls 16

Best for the Eagles were Stephen Harding, Phillipo Sauvao, and Sama Sauvao

Try Scorers:
Uati Isaako
Jacob Nansen
Limoni Kamuta
Sama Sauvao 2
Phillipo Sauvao 3
Goals:
Sean Connor 5/8

The Mighty Eagles take on Blacktown Workers this Sunday at Waminda Oval Campbelltown at 2.30pm

East Campbelltown Eagles 24
Defeated

Would be great to hear from all sides playing in the SCC instead of just All Saints and Eagles :correct:

All Saints A Grade with only 14 1st graders in absolutely atrocious conditions defeated Berala Bears 34-10. It seemed like they were playing with a cake of soap with at least 3 more tries being spat out over the line which could of made it much higher. Thank you to the 19s that played up to help out.

All Saints 2nd Grade lost to Minto 32-8

All Saints 3rd Grade lost to Minto 40-18

17s and 19s had to forfeit due a registration issue, hopefully sorted by next week

All Saints Game last week, lots of dropped ball from the slippery conditions but we still managed to get the biscuits from a very good Berala side, who last year had the best 2nd phase play in the comp. This worked more for us as the slippery conditions disrupted their style of game more than ours. Big Jay Maseuli was unstoppable scoring 2 try's and setting up another. We could of had at least 2 more tries as the ball "squirted" out of our hands over the line. Tempers flared at the end but this fizzled out without much more than a push and a shove. This week hopefully welcomes back former Wests Magpie Allen Soultan to his junior club. (subject to paperwork) for our big Charity Match on Saturday evening at 6pm against Liverpool Titans.

If you have nothing else on why not come down to Hillier Oval and have a look. 4.30 Res Grade, 6pm 1st Grade.

$5 Entry for two games of footy with all proceeds going to Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation.

Meet some of the boys at our after game function at the Collingwood Hotel (just around the corner from Hillier Oval) from 8pm, where the jerseys will be auctioned off. A great night expected by all. :drink:

Watch the game here on All Saints YouTube Site
