RE: Round 6 Media Release On Sunday the 27th of April The East Campbelltown Eagles played second placed Wentworthville in the Round 6 Sydney Shield clash at Waminda Oval, this game had huge interest and was always going to be a tough encounter. From the opening minutes it was all Wentworthville, they showed how fast they where and their attack had the Eagles stretched on many occasions, The Eagles through solid pressure made a few mistakes early in the piece that seen Wentworthville capitalize with two early tries, to go to an early 10 nil lead. Wentworthville continued the attack and it took the Eagles 19 minutes before they finally reached the Wentworthville half. The Eagles with some attacking opportunities seen informed fullback Sean Connor score a great individual try when he put through a grubber kick, received a favourable bounce stepping the Wenty fullback to score under the post and the try was converted by Stephen Harding. Wayde Dunley was next to score on the 34th minute taking on the defence line 10 meters out stepping two defenders and reaching out to slam the ball over the try line and again Harding converted for the Eagles to lead 12-10, write on half time the Eagles scored the try of the day entertaining the huge crowd at Waminda, with a fantastic back line play that seen big winger Uati Isaako crash over with the finishing touches, for the Eagles to go into half time 16-10 with Harding’s Kick unsuccessful. The crowd really got there $5 worth in the first half and the second half started just the same, Hooker Sam Hoare making the first line break and then kicking cross field for his Half Back Wayde Dunley, Dunley looked certain to score before knocking the ball on over the line, it was the Eagles constant pressure that seen centre Lamoni Kamuta score in the 50th min and again Harding’s conversion was unsuccessful, Wenty was next to score when Wenty’s Half put a little kick in goal and a rare mistake from Connor seen Wenty score under the post to bring the score back to 20-16 at the 56th minute mark Wenty again on the attack dropped the ball that seen fullback Connor scoop up the loose pass to run 60 meters before offloading to Fusi Toutai to score for the Eagles and Harding converted for a 26-16 buffer, the Eagles flying ahead further when Wayde Dunley scored his second try and Harding converted to make it 32-16 Eagles five-eight Chris Standing sucked in two defenders before handing of a gift try to Fusi Toutai for his second of the day at the 73rd minute and Harding’s kick waved away, Wentworthville finished up with attacking the Eagles line but the Eagles held firm with awesome defence which they showed for the entire 80 minutes stamping their mark on the Sydney Shield competition with a fine 36-16 victory. Best For the Eagles where Wayde Dunley, Sean Connor, Sam Hoare and Sama Sauvao Tries Fusi Toutai 2 Wayde Dunley 2 Lamoni Kamuta Uati Isaako Sean Connor Goals Stephen Harding 4 from 7 Under 17’s Number 2 Berala Bears 30 defeated East Campbelltown 10 Under 17’s Number 1 East Campbelltown 18 defeated Enfield Federals 10 |

Not such a great day at the office for All Saints yesterday going down in all grades. Our first grade were defeated by a very good St George Dragons outfit who have turned their player roster around with 20 new names that were not there last year. They were big, fit and fast, but in saying that our error count was high, and we were made to pay dearly when we made those errors. We bolted out of the blocks to lead 10-0 after only 10 mins. St George then hit back with 2 tries to level the score but one more try seen as leading 14-10 at the break. That was it for us as St George came out in the second half on fire and gave us a lesson in discipline keeping us to zip in the 2nd half and they finished with I think 32 winning 32-14. We now have to rethink our game plan as the St George coach admitted he studied our You Tube videos to find his plan of attack, which they did well. The competition is evolving with Moorebank feeding East Campbelltown, Burwood feeding Burwood, And now Penshurst are the feeder for St George Holden Cup side. Interesting times ahead. In other games Penshurst 26 Bass Hill 26 Berala 38 Titans 6 Moorebank 14 Burwood 14 Edited by Maverick, Apr 28 2014, 11:55 AM.

The guys done well for Moorebank and on behalf of the Eagles we would like to thank Moorebank for giving our guys a place to play, due to clearance issues they only managed to field 10 players but they where a quality 10 players, coming away with a draw was a great effort. They where pleased just to be back on the paddock. Watching our Sydney Shield side yesterday I would have to say in the many years I have been involved in the Eagles, this has to be the best game of footy I have ever seen, Our guys are awesome! This team would be better than the team that won the Claytons Cup and we have such a young squad

Brett and Grant Lahey have been listed to play for Mounties this week. Should be another strong win for East Campbelltown. Mounties are considerably weaker than last year in both Ron Massey and Sydney Shield. |

This Saturday will be another tough battle, anyone that knows about NSWRL player portability would see that Canberra have a bye this week, They will be able to drop players from NRL to N20's down to State Cup, State Cup players can drop down to RMC, and RMC players to Sydney Shield, we are expecting another very tough clash. We will have Samuel Hoare, and possibly Chris Standing out this week but we will see Michael Bradstock return for this weeks match, Last weeks match seen us at just about full strenght so it shows where we need to be. Get down to Aubrey Keech Reserve at Hinchinbrook at 11.30am Saturday the 3rd of May and watch this Red Hot Eagles outfit. Then enjoy the Wests Magpies after our match at 1.15pm Good luck to the Eagles and Magpies |

On Saturday the 3rd of May East Campbelltown Sydney Shield played a very strong Mounties side. From the opening minutes Mounties had cracked the Eagles line and running two consecutive tries under the posts, The Eagles defence looked nothing like the week before struggled holding the huge Mounties pack. Second rower Michael Bradstock was helped from the field with concussion that added to the injury woes already with no Chris Standing and Samuel Hoare, The Eagles regained some momentum and looked like the game had turned and when the Eagles scored through Wests replacement Hooker Dave Atua to make the score 12-6, Mounties getting some favourable decisions again dominated control and scored two late tries right on the half time break. The Eagles second half again started slowly and Mounties once again put points on the board with another 2 tries after the break to race to a 34-6 lead. The Eagles finally hitting back through Sama Sauvao and Harding converted to bring the game back to 34-12, Mounties running in 1 more late try before the full time siren to win 38-12. Best for the Eagles where Sean Connor, Wayde Dunley and Fusi Toutai Tries Dave Atua Sama Sauvao Goals Stephen Harding 2 from 2 Today our feeder club the Moorebank Rams will take on the Liverpool Titans at Jardin Park at 3pm, Our Under 17's No 2 side will play Dundas at 3pm at Birchgrove Oval And our Under 17's No 1 side will play Renown United at 12pm at Worrall Park Ruse Edited by Trent, May 4 2014, 05:57 AM.

That's what can happen on weekends where there is no 1st Grade. You will find many players were dropped from higher levels to lower grades in many teams to give them game time. Personally I think the portability rule sucks and this should not be allowed or maybe make a limit of say 2 that can be dropped down in these weekends or anytime. There are strict rules in the SCC regarding this, players must be dual registered and must play more games for the lower grade than the higher grade to be eligible for semi's etc. |

All Saints off to a slow start to 2014 with a loss to Penshurst 32-10 in our Grand Final replay. With 4 bombed tries over the line, the side has good cattle with 6-7 new players but not quite gelling yet. Hopefully we can sort it out soon. 2 wins 2 losses and it would seem all sides have stepped up a level this year.

The Eagles Tackle Domestic Violence The East Campbelltown Eagles is a club known for strong defence and now they plan to tackle Domestic Violence head on and we take great pleasure in announcing our 2014 partnership with the NSW Government’s Tackling Violence program. In a first in the Macarthur area, the Eagles will send out the message that there’s no room for Domestic Violence in our Community. In return for sponsorship; The Eagles will have their players and club officials abide by a Domestic Violence Code of Conduct, while continuing the education on domestic violence within the Community. The 2012 Claytons Cup Winning Club plans to work with the Local Area Command forming a strong relationship with the local police keeping a watchful eye on its club members and addressing any issues that may arise with Domestic Violence. President Glen Harding said “As a Club we want to be recognized as leaders in community engagement, and we believe our partnership with the Tackling Violence program - Is a step in the right direction, this partnership will give awareness that is needed in our community” https://www.dropbox.com/s/3i1mv33w4y6uzkf/LTDV2014CAM.mp4 |

Match report East Campbelltown Eagles v Belrose Eagles On Saturday the 10th of May at Waminda Oval the East Campbelltown Eagles took on last year’s Sydney Shield Premiers Belrose Eagles. East Campbelltown controlled the game from the start and pressured the Belrose defence and that pressure led to Hooker Samuel Hoare finding a huge hole to score under the post in the 4th minute, and Stephen Harding converted for an early 6-0 lead, It was East Campbelltown’s Hooker Samuel Hoare that scored his second try in the 10 minute mark but this time Harding’s conversion waved away for a 10 nil lead. At the 14th minute mark Belrose found room out wide on Campbelltown’s right side defence, with lack of sliding and communication from the eagles, seen Belrose cross for their first four pointer to trail 10-4, Belrose stepped up the attack and two minutes later Belrose through a series of quick play the balls seen a scoot from hooker breaking the line, good support play seen the final pass for a try under the post10-10 23rd minute mark seen Belrose on the attack again and they had Campbelltown defence stretched running in another try but there conversion was unsuccessful for a 14-10 lead, Belrose was showing why they where the 2013 Premiers as their attack was hard to defend, and again being rewarded with another try under the posts at the 27th minute mark for a handy 20-10 lead At the 30th minute the Campbelltown boys stepped up the intensity and the Eagles spread the ball with a 3 man overlap, the Eagles played the numbers for the centre Philipo Sauvao to score 10 metres out. Conversion by Stephen Harding was successful 16-20, with 2 minutes before half time the East Campbelltown Eagles off a quick play the ball spread it to the left and the from an inside ball, the number 7 Wayde Dunley scored close to the post to hit the lead up at half time at 22-20 After 10 minutes of tough defence in the second half it was Belrose to score first at the 11th minute mark, Belrose was under the post and back in the lead at 26-22, Belrose was stamping there authority and a magnificent kick to the wing seen Belrose winger jumping higher than the Campbelltown winger to score in the corner and was Converted from sideline to make it 32-22 to Belrose. This was a wakeup call for the Campbelltown boys and at the 21st minute mark they replied with a try to second rower Sama Sauvao and the conversion was successful and the score was at 32-28, A Belrose player than got 10 minutes in the bin for backchat and that was enough to start the onslaught from East, the Campbelltown boys then ran in tries to Sean Connor, Sama Sauvao and Leigh Middlemiss bringing the Eagles home strong with Harding and Connor converting another goal each for East to run out winners East Campbelltown Eagles 44, Belrose Eagles 32, Best for the Eagles were Sean Connor, Samuel Hoare and Sama Sauvao Tries: Sama Sauvao 2 Samuel Hoare 2 Wayde Dunley Leigh Middlemiss Sean Connor Phillipo Sauvao Goals: Sean Connor 1 from 2 Stephen Harding 5 from 6 The Mighty East Campbelltown Eagles take on Hills District this Sunday at Waminda Oval at 2.30pm, earlier games kick off at 12pm Edited by Trent, May 11 2014, 11:05 PM.

All Saints after a tough off field week, had a good win over Burwood running out winners 56-0. Our boys were still not up to scratch, with dropped ball over the line and 1st tackle errors being prominent in our game, but still its good to win like that when you have so much you can improve on. Our 3rd Grade went down to LCC by a cricket score.
