P.s baker is small loss to group 6 average at best last year goodluck to
Him at easts
He's a bit of an enigma. Flashes of brilliance, then brain fades.
He should have the cattle around him to use his speed and skill to go well.

It's a challenge every year to keep under the points, so it will be no different this year.

Too selfish, would be a much better player if he used his teammates not always going for the individual glory low percentage play, decent winger that's about all. Not sure what cattle, the easts side last year was a shadow of the team that played in g6.

I can't see how you can say that, very much the same team and the talent we lost was filled with the likes of the Sauvao Brothers, Kamuta and Toutai, all players played at RMC or higher, big call!

I gotta agree Splinter wow big call, everyone is entitled to their opinion about Benny Baker however when is the Group 6 side of the forum going to give due credit and respect to the East Campbelltown Eagles? I thought we were over this guys come on! For you to make that sort of comment Splinter suggests that you don't really rate the Sydney Shield and/or have been smoking hashish, have you ever thought of entering your club in the Sydney Shield seeing as you think their team in Group 6 was better when they just won the Sydney Shield?

"when is the Group 6 side of the forum going to give due credit and respect to the East Campbelltown Eagles?"
Does it matter what everyone thinks? This has been going on for years now.
You guys have had good success, Semi Finalists in 2009 (Beaten by Oakdale), Finalists in 2010 (Beaten by Moss Vale), Grand Finalists in 2011 (Beaten by Oakdale), Premiers in 2012* (Beat Thirlmere), Stood down in 2013, Sydney Shield Premiers in 2014 (Beat Mounties), congratulations, the effort that you produced to get off the canvas was admirable.
But the constant Us vs The World mentality is tiring, almost like an inferiority complex. Surely personal gratification outweighs being acknowledged from a bunch of group 6 rednecks, or does it?
People are always going to have their opinions on players and clubs especially when they are always throwing themselves in the spotlight.
Ben Baker puts himself out there, he makes statements, has his opinions and posts photos of himself in an Eagles jersey, so everyone will have their opinion on him, because it becomes a topic of discussion, and like it or not, he polarizes people.
Lets just Move on.

I watched the gf hoare and dunley propped that team up. Loss of dunley will leave a big hole.I don't think that its a big call at all. A number of players from the Sydney shield side couldnt crack your first grade team and played reserves in group 6 comp and 2-3 even played third grade? Pretty good indication of the strength of your first grade 2011,2012

Honestly i don't really care about what Ben says and if he takes photos of himself, i want to move on but it's hard when you're trying to drum up support for another competition and you have all the moderators aligned to the other side of the forum censorsing the content and opinions of the other side like it's the chinese government. It may seem like an us vs the world attitude but it's really the attitude of a club that is fed up and just wants to play local footy again, having played in both competitions and hung up the boots for a good decade now it's sad that it seems SOME people within one comp are at times trying to outdo each other. I'm just a fencesitter i just want the game to prosper and love that sport can bring people together. Let's all work together to make rugby league throughout Macarthur and the Southern Highlands strong like it once was because a Welsh banker by the name of Dave sure ain't going to help.

HardButFair I seem to recall a post from a week ago that you put up on the SCC thread asking what's happening as this side of the forum was spruiking every signing under the sun even if their not to crash hot.
You also complained about Group 6 field entry, which has not been a major issue for the 15 years I have been going to Group 6 games as the people going know it goes back to the host club, even a few years ago only teams that joined from outside the area seemed to have issue with it but adapted.
Sounds like your the one with the issue as the Eagles haven't been mentioned on this thread for ages and when they have were congratulated for their success.

Lovinfooty you make it sound like a crime to voice an opinion, splinter he will be a loss to their team but you shouldn't undermine the depth you forgot that one of their wingers went from Group 6 2nd division to Wests RMC the next year..The truth is a lot of the younger lads from lower income areas in Campbelltown like Claymore, Airds, Rosemeadow, Mac Fields etc chase the coin so clubs like Campbelltown City, Narellan and Appin down the road with a weaker roster look more attractive to them as they can play first grade and earn more money rather than trying to break into the grade at a club like Easts. This i will admit has seen a player drain there over the last few years but like most trends it's just a fad and won't last especially with disappointing results.

Any team would be lucky to have Ben Baker in their side. Watched him for many years and wish him best of luck for the future, no matter which club he plays for. Bought many doubles tickets praying that his number was inside my ticket stub because at least then I was guaranteed one half of the combination. I don't play rugby league but watch it every weekend both live and on TV and I will miss seeing Ben in the Group 6 comp. Maybe everyone should just enjoy the game no matter who plays for whatever team.

Dane will keep you under the points like every year! Dane & hazo joined at the hip and benefits all over the points system for the dogs like last year!! The point system should be set in concrete not in sand, the group is a joke and loose to many quality players hence b.baker leaving exceptions Every year on the points system. STICK TO ONE SYSTEM CLOWNS

I think we would of been crazy not to sign Ben, the guy is a try scoring machine and put him in a team like ours will only benefit us, Ben seems to cop a lot of bagging but please look at his record at the Group, 4 times leading try scorer, Group 6 player of the year, leading point scorer and he made the Group 6 rep squad all the time. He done all this while playing in an average team, I think it's good that he wants to test himself and again I think he will be awesome in Sydney Shield. Looking forward to seeing him run around at the Eagles

Nice rob any one that tells the truth towards your club you always claim they have been on the drink! You know that wooden dictates to the group committee on the points system. My previous comment was not all about the appin club so if you don't have any thing to good to say then butt out.
