Appin picton thilmere camden top 4. Appin strong with new signings (points still the question unanswered) Picton very strong again hard to go past 3 consecutive premierships! Thilmere what more to say trotters!! A few more quality signings top 4.once again bought not breed. Camden juniors coming through the system are strong and existing team well it speaks for it self very strong this yr. |

You'd have to ask the coach, he has done all the recruiting. I think we only have 1 ex oakdale first grader back, with the possibility of another, and that's apart from any guys that stuck with us last year. |

Assessments of the 2015 Season: Picton: the team to beat. The signing of Country Prop Benson Tupou, and possibly an ex Penrith/ Illawarra NSW Cup front rower to offset the loss of Young/ Bowers, has them well into the red to follow in the footsteps of their 1985-87 predecessors. A backline that no Group 6 club can even hope to match. Rumours that another two very well credentialled forwards (one ex- London Broncos) will be at Victoria Park, add to the aura. Camden : excellent recruitment. The Borgs will guarantee a top 2 finish. Do they have the class in the OBs to match Picton when it matters? We'll know in September... The pennies have been saving for a few years for this title shot crack. A 13 year title drought at such a big powerful club, wouldn't be sitting well at Kirkham. Appin: Gibbs is the best front rower in the CRL. It won't be smart running one out into the Appin pack. This is a big year. The Oakdale four are age-ing, Wooden has openly stated he only wants a two year tenure at Appin, Flanagan is the lynchpin. Astute signings of Rumsby and McGuiggan in the halves. Depth and OB class is the question mark. Narellan: will be there or thereabouts. Low matches the class of Lett at Picton. Big hopes pinned on Fraser to hold up the pack. Coach Ruttle has the challenge. Depth is the question mark. Thirlmere: will have the class to destroy those who have no class. Will this be enough to defeat cohesive team units at the League's pinnacle when it matters most? It hasn't before. Have developed not much depth and will be praying for no injuries. Physio will be their most important signing. Impressive Pommies are back to bolster their pack, apparently. The Oaks: impressive top 6 players, not much else known at this stage. 1992 the last premiership. 2002 the last GF appearance. Likely to go another season. City: rebuilding year, not much expected. Took a massive hit with Aitken being poached to the Q Cup. A brighter future at the Stadium, new leadership and sponsorship dollars rolling in. Will aim to be hard to beat. Mittagong: rumours, hopefully unfounded, continue to swirl. Have been up since 2011 and have been decimated by the losses of Borg, Borg, Payne and Brown. Carter apparently heading to Europe. Have many talented juniors and have dominated the lower grade competitions in recent times. Will this depth stack up? Is Garard back from Canberra to steer the ship? Real unknown quantity. Moss Vale: a most astute signing with Robbie Payne as coach. Successful coach of the Lions 18s, the pied piper who brings the Moss Vale locals back. Will no doubt struggle in 2015, with Payne ultimately destined to pull the boots back on at some stage and lead from the front. Will surprise a few teams at Community Oval, unprepared for the winter blitz that will come at them. Oakdale: the proud club will make their 1st Grade return after having missed 2014, the first time they'd not contested top grade since 1983. An astute signing in the well travelled Mark De Ubago as coach (Camden- City- Narellan) and will produce a competitive 1st Grade lineup that may surprise a few as the season progresses. Country second rower Brad Hopkins will be the mainstay of the team. Decision to train at Camden Rugby Park is the sign of a go-ahead Board, and should they stay there in 2016, Workers will likely field their first 18s team since 2007, providing much needed youth and hope to a club that last year resembled the cast of the movie, Cocoon. Assessments of the 2nd Division Season Camden: will this be the year that the Rams finally field a 2nd Division team, first in their history? Grand Finalists in the U-18s for five straight seasons, rumours that over 60 blokes attended training pre-Christmas... Rumours continue that a licenced club and pub at the southern end of Camden have designs to bankroll a senior club out of Onslow Park, initially in 2nd Division... Remembering that at the same stage of its development, Campbelltown was supplying four 1st Grade clubs (City, Warriors, Collies and Ingleburn Bulldogs) and 8 second division clubs to the Group; plus a Mini and Minor junior league. Dasha Politis would love to see a club named the Camden RSL Warriors... Narellan: defending premiers and seem to have created their own club within a club, with their team. Will be hard to roll if a few of Narellan's impressive 18s players from 2014 step up. Picton: Captain Coach French has stood aside, but the strength in depth remains. Who will be appointed to replace him? Mt Annan: very competitive team in 2014 and could have raised the crown. The suspension of key U/18s for 2015 will not aid their cause and will rely on some new walk-ups from the Campbelltown area to go two better, this season. Warragamba: harsh, but back where they are suited. 1st Grade was a pipedream and couldn't compete in Reserve Grade. Far too close to the powerful Penrith JL to be a force, but great to see League alive and well in the village. Robertson: disappointed by the way they limped out of 2014's finals.. The Spuddies will once again make the top 5, but another premiership may be a step beyond still. Bargo: Coach Scott Borthwick, two time G6 player of the year, has a huge job trying to raise a competitive lineup for the red and greens. Need a few key signings to get the ball rolling. Bundanoon: great club, great culture. Unlikely to challenge the top clubs in 2015 though. Bowral: media campaign to rival Schapelle Corby. Everyone wants to see the Blues back and competitive. An U/18s team provides hope for the future. Have too many 2nd Division teams been allocated to the Highlands? Bowral has been the canary in the mine, but coach Sturm has led a most impressive campaign to revitalise this integral Group 6 club, and hopefully 2015 sees a change of fortunes at Loseby. For the record, the City Board has decided that it will not entertain the fielding of a 2nd Division team in 2015. The re-establishment of credibility in the 1st Grade competition is the primary goal, through development of our reserve graders and U/18s. However, we would like to see the day in which 2nd Division and U/18B Kangaroo teams travel to play against Bargo at Bargo. Maybe this can eventuate in 2016 or 2017... And realistically, a two grade 2nd Division structure, shouldn't be too far away now, considering the playing numbers available to City, Picton, Camden and Narellan. Great write up Orana.and pretty good assessment as well.I really think it will be the year of the Ram in 2015 but Picton will be a as well oiled as ever.Appin will be there but as you stated no back up they wanna be injury free.Great to see Mossy and the Workies back and great move TC with the Rah Rah ground(Genius).Narellan fist full of Dollars anything possible. The Oaks not much doing there and as for City will surprise a few sides at times. I was talking to a young bloke in the Chicken shop who told me About a lot about 2nd Division said Camden will definitely have a side and a few hard heads and young fellas also reckoned Mt Annan was going to have a heap of Ex Minto players in there side,And lastly said that Warra Wombats had got a captain coach from the Wests comp old fella that's cousin plays for Wombats. And great for Bowral to be back. |

Orana, further on your Appin wrap. Yes we do have Rumbsy and Mcwiggan , along with jamie Blewitt who can play half or cover hooker for flanno, also roman (last year group6 rising star winner) then we also have Bart and Kyle who can cover in the halves. Depth is something we have tried to improve on for this season. |

Hey Gal, I'm not sure if Orana meant this, but i think he meant depth outside of the top 17. All those blokes are very versatile, and Bart Masters is probably one of the better halves in the group, even at halfback he excels. |

TC, unsure which way he was referring too ? I was just running thru a few another signing. As you know depth is hard beyond 17 at every club. We have strengthened up our centres and now believe we have a top 8 team lol |

Great depth in the halves, that will make your reggies hard to beat also, steering them around. My comments on depth are comparative to the depth at Picton, as the yardstick. |
